NEW DELHI: Crude oil futures fell by Rs 20 to Rs 2,527 per barrel today as speculators trimmed their positions, tracking a weak trend in Asian markets.

In futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in current month was down by Rs 20, or 0.79 per cent at Rs 2,527 per barrel in 3,960 lots.

Oil for April delivery also moved down by Rs 21, or 0.78 per cent, to Rs 2,669 per barrel in business volume of 261 lots.

The trading sentiments dampened in futures trade as oil prices dipped in Asia today, as traders took profits after solid gains over the past three weeks, analysts said.

Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for April delivery, slid 48 cents, to USD 37.42, while Brent crude for May fell 57 cents, to USD 40.27 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
