Dontae's Boxing Nation Interviewed Gennady Golovkin's Trainer, Abel Sanchez, on his show today an in fact, go check out the interview he did with Abel Sanchez DBN brought up Lara, Abel tried to “dance around the topic” IN MY OPINION saying stuff like 1. Did DBN see Monroe vs. Rosado, people don’t want to see a fighter not engage/running etc… 2. HBO has to approve, this will be a tough sell to the public, Lara is NOT undefeated like Brook was etc, etc… 3. DBN brought up that Monroe fights like Lara to a degree and GGG already beat him why not do it again then Sanchez finally backed up into a corner said “if the Saunders, Jacobs, Eubank or Canelo fights don’t happen….then they’ll fight him, but can Lara fight on HBO and his team should make an offer! Now, here’s my take: 1. If HBO could approve GGG vs. Wade [and I understand that was GGG’s mandatory], then SURELY then can approve GGG vs. Lara who obviously is a BETTER fighter than Wade 2. The “tough sell” phrase, that’s bullshit: a. They “sold” Canelo vs. Khan b. They “sold” GGG vs. Wade [2 undefeated fighters etc] c. They “sold” Ward vs. Brand [a total mismatch] so SURELY then can “sell” GGG vs. Lara 2 CHAMPIONS!! If y’all [HBO/GGG’S TEAM} need help, well say the following: a. Lara is the best junior middleweight [hey it may be a lie, but HBO lied when they claimed Canelo and Khan were 2 of the most avoided fighters in the word…well, lie again at least this will be a WHITE lie and there is a strong argument for it being the truth….that Lara is the best at 154 lbs. b. Lara has been calling for this fight c. Lara has the Cuban amateur pedigree or whatever.. d. Lara gave Canelo a close fight that some believe could have gone either way, well let’s see how GGG performs against him e. Lara is known for movement, GGG is the “best in the business” for cutting off the ring…well, let’s see what happens. Now, I think GGG Will beat Lara’s ass, I mean David Avanesyan BEAT lara in their last fight that was boring as hell, but just to silence the critics who say a. Lara will give GGG a tough fight b. If GGG claims he can’t get fights at 160 fight Lara , well now is the time to shut them up. Anyway, Abel addressed Ward’s claim of having email ‘proof’ of offering a fight, Canelo, the issue with moving up in weight etc… Go check out the interview for yourselves, but I’ve given my take on LARA… Summary, fight Jacobs, Saunders, [Feb 2017] Eubank [May 2017] in that order if possible, Then perhaps Canelo in September then Lara…but if any of those can’t materialize, Lara is always a good substitute….and speaking of him, why hasn’t he fought since April? Anyway SBN…I’M OUT. Oh, and PS: ABEL SANCHEZ DO NOT EVER TALK ABOUT ANY OTHER WEIGHT CLASS besides 160 since you guys claim you want to clean out that division etc, then stop selling that narrative of “we’ll knock out anyone from 154-168”, a. You have fights you can get and look for b. You are contradicting your own selves!
