• Get ready to oppose the new
DOI rule for recognition of the
Na’i Aupuni puppet nation.
FACTS
• 1893 the
Hawaiian Kingdom was an independent nation that was illegally overthrown by a small group of
American Businessmen with the assistance of the
US military.
• 1898
Hawai‘i was illegally annexed to the US by a joint resolution of
US House and
Senate (
Newlands Resolution) rather than by a
Treaty which was required by US law to “legally” annex Hawai‘i.
• Approximately,
1,800,
000 acres of valuable crown, government and public lands of the
Kingdom of Hawaii were ceded to the US without the consent of the
Hawaiian people or nation.
• The Hawaiian people never directly relinquished their cultural and political rights to sovereignty as a people or over their national lands to the
United States, either through their monarchy or through a plebiscite or referendum.
• In
1959 Hawaii was taken off the
United Nations (
UN) list of Non-Self-Governing Territories eligible for decolonization by the statehood vote, which did not give independence as an option.
• In
2007 the United Nations recognizes the rights of all indigenous peoples to Self-determination or to freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development.
•
The right of Self-determination must come from the Hawaiian people not the
State of Hawaii.
• The process for decolonization requires Hawaii to be placed back on the list of non-self governing territories and afforded a UN supervised referendum or vote.
• In June and July of 2014, an overwhelming majority of
Hawaiian testifiers at the
Department of Interior (DOI) hearings rejected any process for nationhood controlled by the US and its agent the
State of Hawai‘i.
THE
KANA‘IOLOWALU
SCAM
• Kana’iolowalu
Roll was created by the State of Hawaii through Act 195 and the Roll Commissioners were appointed by the
Governor.
• Kana‘iolowalu spent a total of $4 million
Office of Hawaiian Affairs (
OHA) trust monies to get 95,000
Hawaiians on their list.
• Thousands of
Hawaiian names and their information were put on the Kana‘iolowalu list WITHOUT
FREE, PRIOR & INFORMED CONSENT of the individuals having been transferred from other
State campaigns that include the Hawaiian Registry and Kau Inoa.
• The 95,000 names on the roll include deceased persons and duplicate names.
• The 95,000 names on the questionable Roll only represent 18% of all
Native Hawaiians in Hawai‘i and on the continental US.
NA‘I AUPUNI IS NOT SELF-DETERMINATION
•
Despite attempts of
OHA , a State Agency, to funnel State money through two organizations, Na‘i Aupuni is still a State process where independence is not a real option.
• OHA authorized the funds and OHA set up the “volunteers” who currently control Na‘i Aupuni.
• Na‘i Aupuni meetings are not public and this process excludes over 80% of Hawaiians in Hawai‘i and the continental US.
• According to Act 195 only
Kaho’olawe may be transferred to the new nation created through this process.
•
The State of Hawaii is creating the Na‘i Aupuni puppet nation in order to undermine Hawaiian self-determination and forever relinquish Hawaiian cultural and political rights to sovereignty and over 1.8 million acres of our valuable national lands in a
Universal settlement.
• Na‘i Aupuni will forever seal the fate of the Hawaiian people to a landless, powerless nation that will be forever under the US thumb
