The Panangad police on Monday arrested a 44-year-old man on charge of molesting his 14-year-old daughter. The accused is living with his wife, three daughters and a son.According to police, the incident occurred on Saturday night.

Tripunithura: The Panangad police on Monday arrested a 44-year-old man on charge of molesting his 14-year-old daughter. The accused is living with his wife, three daughters and a son.
According to police, the incident occurred on Saturday night. Police said that the girl used to sleep with her mother. On Saturday, she slept with the accused after he forced her at midnight.

The girl's mother who woke up hearing the noise rescued her while the accused was trying to molest her.
The mother later sought the help of neighbours and the ward councillor and filed a complaint against her husband at the police station.
The girl later disclosed to her mother that the accused was acting suspiciously for the past few weeks while watching television.
"The accused was booked under sections 7 and 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. He was produced before the magistrate and remanded in judicial custody," said the police.
Two held for forgery: The Hill Palace police on Monday arrested two people, who collected donations using forged receipts of a charitable trust. The arrested have been identified as Jayakumar (51) from Kottayam and Jonny Mathew (47) from Idukki.

The police said that the duo had collected huge amount from people using receipts and brochures printed in the name of Kalamassery-based Abhaya Charitable Trust.
The cheating came to light when Rajesh, a resident of Ambilinagar near Tripunithura, found the receipt suspicious while giving a donation of Rs 500.
Rajesh crosschecked the authenticity of the credentials in the receipt using internet and contacted the office bearers of the trust.
The accused were held based on complaints filed by the trust and Rajesh.
