Raúl Rafael Labrador (born December 8, 1967) is an American politician who has been the U.S. Representative for Idaho's 1st congressional district since 2011. He is a member of the Republican Party. Labrador previously represented District 14B in the Idaho House of Representatives.
Born in Carolina, Puerto Rico, Labrador relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, as a child and graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1985. He attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and spent two years as a missionary in Chile, from 1987 to 1989. Labrador returned to BYU and received a B.A. in 1992, in Spanish with an emphasis in Latin American literature. He was admitted to the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle and received his J.D. in 1995.
Married in 1991, Labrador relocated to his wife's home state of Idaho and practiced law and immigration law in private practice from 1995 until his election to the Idaho House of Representatives in 2006.
Labrador is the distinct northerly region of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It comprises the mainland portion of the province, separated from the island of Newfoundland by the Strait of Belle Isle. It is the largest and northernmost geographical region in Atlantic Canada.
Labrador occupies the eastern part of the Labrador Peninsula. It is bordered to the west and the south by the Canadian province of Quebec. Labrador also shares a small land border with the Canadian territory of Nunavut on Killiniq Island.
Though Labrador's area is over twice that of the island of Newfoundland, it has only 8% of the province's population. The aboriginal peoples of Labrador include the Northern Inuit of Nunatsiavut, the Southern Inuit-Métis of Nunatukavut (NunatuKavut), and the Innu. Many of the non-aboriginal population in Labrador did not permanently settle in Labrador until the natural resource developments of the 1940s and 1950s. Before the 1950s, very few non-aboriginal people lived in Labrador year round. The few European immigrants who worked seasonally for foreign merchants and brought their families were known as Settlers.
Morning Joe is a weekday morning talk show which premiered on May 9, 2007, on MSNBC. The show features Joe Scarborough discussing the news of the day in a panel format with co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Willie Geist. It was created as the replacement for Imus in the Morning, which was canceled in April 2007 after simulcasting on MSNBC since 1996.
The talk show airs airs from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time.
Morning Joe began as a fill-in program after Don Imus' Imus in the Morning was canceled. Former Florida Congressman Joe Scarborough, then host of the primetime MSNBC program Scarborough Country, suggested the idea of doing a morning show instead. He put together what would become Morning Joe with Scarborough Country executive producer Chris Licht and screenwriter John Ridley. On May 9, 2007, the show debuted as one of a series of rotating programs auditioning for Imus's former slot, with Scarborough joined by co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Ridley. Scarborough had personally asked Brzezinski to co-host with him the night before the first audition, while she was a "cut-in" presenter during MSNBC's primetime schedule on a freelance basis.

10/7/13 - Anderson Cooper faced off with Republican congressman Raul Labrador on Monday night, telling him at one point during a heated back-and-forth on media bias that he should expect tough questions whenever he goes on a network that isn't Fox News. Cooper kept asking why the GOP is fighting a law that was passed by Congress, upheld by the Supreme Court, and was politically upheld when President Obama won reelection. They battled over whether this was really that big an issue in 2012, with Labrador calling that an "absolutely false" narrative. Labrador also found it odd that only Obama's reelection counts, and the Republicans holding a majority in the House in 2012 doesn't. Cooper shot back, "You're nullifying two presidential elections and you're nullifying the vote of Congress becau...

Raul Labrador and David Brooks got it into on Meet the Press this morning. "I've seen a lot of intellectually weak cases in this town. I've rarely seen as intellectually a weak case as the case against the Senate immigraiton bill. The Republicans say they want to reduce illegal immigration; the Congressional Budget Office says the Senate bill will reduce it by a third to half. They say they want economic growth; all the top conservative economists say it'll produce economic growth. They say they want to reduce the debt; the CBO says it will reduce the debt. All the big major objectives the Republicans stand for, the Senate immigration bill will do. The other things they're talking about are secondary and tertiary issues. Whether we get 86% border protection or 90%—compared to the big th...

Rep. Raul Labrador, ID, tells FBI Director Comey that he questions the thoroughness and the scope of the FBI investigation. He questions Comey on the immunity given to Cheryl Mills, her presence in the FBI Interview room with Hillary Clinton, how it is that Comey and the FBI could not determine there was 'intent' by multiple individuals who illegally destroyed evidence, including Hillary and Paul Combetta. He asks Comey how he could believe that Paul Combetta was being truthful when Combetta said 'no one told him to act this way (destroying evidence/emails)' after Comey saw Combetta's Reddit post that says "THEY" told him to act in this way"? Justice Department Oversight Committee Hearing, July 12th 2016. Attorney General Loretta Lynch's testimony before Congress showed her to be derelict in her duties. She spent over four hours stonewalling, dodging and avoiding questions regarding the Clinton email scandal, her meeting with former President Bill Clinton on the tarmac, and FBI Director James Comey's recommendation not to indict former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Not only did she end up wasting everyone's time, but left us wondering by whom and when the final decision was actually made. Where does the buck truly stop? 00:33 - Rep. Bob Goodlatte 04:11 - Rep.
