Van Canto
Van Canto (sometimes stylized as van Canto) is a German a cappella metal band, founded in 2006 and composed of five singers and a drummer. Although the group is often classified as an a cappella ensemble, they use real drums in their music, instead of vocal percussion or beatboxing.
Van Canto play a cappella with classic heavy, power and symphonic metal influence, creating what they call "hero metal a cappella". While only two of the five singers perform the lead vocals, the other three instead use their voices to imitate the guitars and the bass, with the help of amplifiers, in an attempt to sound closer to the original instruments.
History
As soon as the band was founded, its debut album, A Storm to Come, was released through General Schallplatten. It features seven original tracks, as well as cover versions of Metallica's "Battery" and "Stora Rövardansen" from the movie Ronja Rövardotter. Additionally, videos were shot for the tracks "The Mission", "Battery", and "Rain". On 30 September 2007, they announced a new drummer, Bastian Emig, who replaced Dennis Strillinger's position in the band. In December 2007, Van Canto signed a worldwide record deal with Gun Records/Sony BMG. Also in December, the band were announced as part of the line up of the Wacken 2008 festival. The band also announced that their second album, titled "Hero", was in the progress of being recorded.Hero ended up being released on 26 September 2008, with producer Charlie Bauerfeind.

Napalm Records
Napalm Records is an Austrian independent record label focused on heavy metal and hard rock.
Originally, Napalm Records focused mainly on black metal acts such as Abigor and Summoning and folk metal bands such as Falkenbach and Vintersorg. Later on, Napalm Records expanded its roster by adding gothic metal, symphonic metal, power metal and doom metal, as well as the electronic metalcore band Beyond All Recognition, to their roster. Napalm Records has also distributed stoner rock albums, such as Monster Magnet, Karma to Burn, and Brant Bjork works.
Napalm Records has its own publishing house named Iron Avantgarde Publishing.

Canto
The canto (Italian pronunciation: [ˈkanto]) is a principal form of division in a long poem. The word canto is derived from Italian word for "song" or singing; which is derived from the Latin cantus, for "a song", from the infinitive verb canere—to sing. The use of the canto was described in the 1911 edition of the Encyclopædia Britannica as " a convenient division when poetry was more usually sung by the minstrel to his own accompaniment than read". There is no specific format, construction, or style for a canto and it is not limited to any one type of poetry.
Famous poems that employ the canto division are Luís de Camões' Os Lusíadas (10 cantos), Lord Byron's Don Juan (17 cantos, the last of which unfinished), Valmiki's Ramayana (500 cantos), Dante's The Divine Comedy (100 cantos), and Ezra Pound's The Cantos (120 cantos).

"If I Die in Battle", "The Higher Flight", and "Neuer Wind" show off the mature and extraordinary qualities of the band: appeal and power.
Staying true to tradition, Van Canto also delivers several cover songs ("Primo Victoria", "Bed of Nails", and "Master of the Wind"), as well as illustrious guests appearances. Marcus Siepen (Blind Guardian) can be heard playing the acoustic guitar on the ballad "Spelled in Waters", while Sabaton frontman Joakim Broden steps up to the mic on "Primo Victoria" to give his

bonus cover song ("Bad to the Bone" by Running Wild). In addition, the

Only supported by a drummer, the German sextet offers the perfect blend of sweeping original songs and cover versions of legendary Rock classics such as "Paranoid" (BLACK SABBATH) or "The Final Countdown" (EUROPE). As a special bonus, more than 200 VAN CANTO fans took part in the choir recordings, and can hear themselves on the new album. Charlie Bauerfeind (BLIND GUARDIN, HELLOWEEN, etc.) produced the drum recordings. The album was mixed by sound wizard Ronald Prent (MANOWAR, RAMMSTEIN, etc.) at the legendary Wisseloord Studio 2. He gave the A Cappella sound and outstanding and omnipresent dynamic. The artwork is based on superhero concept, and this theme runs as a red thread through the photographs and visual design which was provided by Stefan Heilemann. One cannot think of a better location to loudly celebrate a metal anniversary than the legendary Wacken Open Air festival. Grave Digger never thought twice than to mark their 30th anniversary with a metal extravaganza that would allow their most loyal fans to celebrate with them at the metal Mecca. This once-in-a-lifetime evening delivered the band's classic "Tunes of War" in its entirety. Thousands of headbangers shared in the enjoyment of timeless anthems such as "Scotland United", "The Dark of the Sun", and of course,"Rebellion". Staying true to the evening's theme, frontman Chris Boltendahl performed in Braveheart-inspired garb. Yet he had more surprises up his sleeve, as he welcomed guest artists Van Canto, Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), and metal queen Doro Pesch to join him on stage. The DVD "The Clans Are Still Marching" captures the energy of this unique evening and delivers it to living rooms everywhere. The DVD also comprises backstage footage, interviews, the video of "Highland Farewell" and its respective "Making of...", as well as all the live tracks on CD.

If you just want to see the concert skip to 24:17. I just made this video for me and my friends as a memory. Also it should show how awesome In Legend and Van Cantos live shows are. The qualitiy is not in HD because the file was 3,75GB, and uploading that would have taken over 20 hours, That's just too much time^^ I hope you enjoy anyways. There is however no point in watching the first 24 minutes of this video at all, since we're just talking bullshit the whole time.

Following on from Canto Ostinato XL earlier this year, Brilliant Classics is proud to present Canto Ostinato XXL, a recording that brings a new perspective to Simeon ten Holt’s minimalist composition by adding a Romantic organ to the work’s original scoring for four pianos – a combination never before attempted. The result is the most beautiful and harmonious of sounds, one that captures Canto Ostinato’s emotional variety and depth through building on the sweetness and simplicity that inhabit this acclaimed composition, first performed in 1979.
Canto Ostinato is all to do with time: ‘taking your time, passing time, making time,’ as Jeroen van Veen, and one of the performers on the four-disc set, explains; and this is partly effected through the artists’ decision to repeat certain of the composition’s sections (106 in total) ad lib, thus inducing a sort of alienation of the part of the listener (because of the repetition’s posterior relationship to the harmony) and creating a hypnotic effect, a regular feature of minimalist music. Recorded over the course of just one day, this four-hour arrangement slows the tempo down a little, in order to accommodate the magnificent acoustics of the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven. Joining organist Aaart Bergwerff and Brilliant Classics regulars Sandra and Jeroen van Veen, all of whom feature on XL, are the acclaimed piano duo Elizabeth and Marcel Bergmann, both experts in the minimalist genre and who also enjoy separate international careers. Jeroen van Veen chairs the Simeon ten Holt Foundation, dedicated to keeping the wonderful music of this late Dutch composer alive.

„Was zum Geier ist denn bitte A Capella Metal?!", das wird sich ein Großteil der Leute sicher fragen, die im Musikregal über den Namen „van Canto" stolpern. Manch einer wird wohl auch zunächst denken, dass die ganze Sache irgendein nicht ganz Ernst gemeinter Gag sei ... wer dann jedoch einmal in die Scheiben der Truppe reinhört, der wird eins sehr schnell merken: Die meinen es verdammt Ernst! Fünf Vocalists und ein notorisch lakonischer Drummer bringen bei dieser Band die sonst üblichen Instrumente - sprich Gitarren, Bass und Keys - nur mit Hilfe ihrer Stimmen dar.
Was 2006 noch als verrückte Idee aus den Kinderschuhen kroch, hat sich mit der Zeit zu einem wahren Selbstläufer entwickelt. Neben diversen Festival-Shows - u.a. das Wacken Open Air 2011 und das Rock In Concert Open Air - steht dieses Jahr nun die Veröffentlichung des vierten Studioalbums „Break The Silence" am 23. September an!

The most strong-voiced band of the world releases their fifth album "Dawn of the Brave" and elevates their unique A Cappella Metal to the next level. Only supported by a drummer, the German sextet offers the perfect blend of sweeping original songs and cover versions of legendary Rock classics such as "Paranoid" (BLACK SABBATH) or "The Final Countdown" (EUROPE). As a special bonus, more than 200 VAN CANTO fans took part in the choir recordings, and can hear themselves on the new album. Charlie Bauerfeind (BLIND GUARDIN, HELLOWEEN, etc.) produced the drum recordings. The album was mixed by sound wizard Ronald Prent (MANOWAR, RAMMSTEIN, etc.) at the legendary Wisseloord Studio 2. He gave the A Cappella sound and outstanding and omnipresent dynamic. The artwork is based on superhero concept, and this theme runs as a red thread through the photographs and visual design which was provided by Stefan Heilemann. Once more VAN CANTO shows the scene, that it doesn't need electric guitars to rock!
