Emma, Lady Hamilton
Emma, Lady Hamilton (26 April 1765; baptised 12 May 1765 – 15 January 1815) is best remembered as the mistress of Lord Nelson and as the muse of George Romney. She was born Amy Lyon in Ness near Neston, Cheshire, England, the daughter of Henry Lyon, a blacksmith who died when she was two months old. She was raised by her mother, the former Mary Kidd, at Hawarden, and received no formal education. She later changed her name to Emma Hart.
Early life
Details of Emma's early life are unclear, but at age 12, she was known to be working as a maid at the Hawarden home of Doctor Honoratus Leigh Thomas, a surgeon working in Chester. Then she worked for the Budd family in Chatham Place, Blackfriars, London, and met a maid called Jane Powell, who wanted to be an actress. Emma joined in with Jane's rehearsals for various tragic roles. After this short stay in London, Emma went back to her mother, who was living near Oxford Street. Inspired by Jane's enthusiasm for the theatre, Emma started work at the Drury Lane theatre in Covent Garden, as maid to various actresses, among them Mary Robinson. However, this paid little.

Emma Hamilton (film)
Emma Hamilton is a 1968 historical drama film directed by Christian-Jaque and starring Michèle Mercier, Richard Johnson and John Mills. It was partly based on the 1864 novel La Sanfelice by Alexandre Dumas and depicts the love affair between Emma Hamilton and Horatio Nelson. It was a co-production between Italy, West Germany, France and the United States.

Emma Hamilton (born 1984 in Melbourne) is an Australian-born British film and theatre actress and graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Hamilton trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
Career
Hamilton came to international attention for her role as a regular in the third and fourth seasons of the hit Showtime drama The Tudors, portraying the sharp-tongued Anne Stanhope (Anne Seymour).
Notable feature films include the black comedy Whole Lotta Sole with Brendan Fraser by Oscar-winning director Terry George, and the action thriller The Cold Light of Day where she starred alongside Bruce Willis and Henry Cavill.
Hamilton won her first professional role in HBO’s World War II film Into the Storm, produced by Ridley Scott, upon graduating drama school. Subsequently, she made her stage debut as Isabella Thorpe in an adaptation of Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey at the Salisbury Playhouse in September 2007. Her first major stage role followed in 2008 in the Royal Exchange Theatre’s production of Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie where she played Laura Wingfield opposite Brenda Blethyn, her portrayal described as "a haunting, heartbreaking performance". In 2010 she performed alongside Gemma Arterton and Stephen Dillane in the off-West End production of Ibsen’s The Master Builder. Hamilton's leading performance in the title role of Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler at the Royal & Derngate Theatre in 2012 was critically acclaimed.

David Austin Shrub Rose - Lady Emma Hamilton (2nd year - 3rd flush)
I don't think this rose likes the potting soil mix. I swapped the potting soil to garden soil and she seems to do way better. She's looking her healthiest for a while. Growing roses in pots for a few years now, I'm getting the feeling that potting nixes are way overrated.

Hingga suatu saat Emma bertemu dengan seorang Laksamana terbesar yang bernama Lord Nelson. Sayangnya, Ema mengalami kebangkrutan dan meninggal dalam belenggu minuman keras.

These are the first words of Horatio Nelson's last letter to his lover Lady Emma Hamilton, written in the night before the battle of Trafalgar (in which he was fatally wounded).
Since a while I have been studying Madarasz' famous script which he calls 'Roundhand', but which looks very different than usual Copperplate calligraphy and is famous among calligrapher's for its 'dashing' quality ;). In 'The Madarasz Book' he explains in detail how to write it and I have been following his instructions … working on a lot of issues like spacing, consistency of stroke width and so on. A fun script! Very manly and fitting for the famous general, I thought!
This is the more casual style where Madarasz advises not to retouch the squares and bottoms of the letters.
I used walnut ink from kalligraphie.ch, a Unique Obliques oblique holder and a B&F; Velleda EF nib on Pure Cotton Crown Mill paper.

Emma who comes for a visit with her mother wouldn't cut the grade with London society but she gets along well with the Queen of Naples. Emma likes being Lady Hamilton and life goes smoothly until Lord Nelson pays a visit. Sir William decides at first to let his young wife have her fling and pretends not to know what is going on. But the real life lovers, whose first screen romance was in "Fire Over England" (1937) have an even more burning passion for each other in this film.

Probably best known for her scandalous affair with Lord Nelson. She was an English maid, model, dancer and actress. She began her career in London's demi-monde, becoming the mistress of a series of wealthy men, culminating in the naval hero Lord Nelson, and was the favourite model of the portrait artist George Romney. In 1791, at the age of 26, she married Sir William Hamilton, British ambassador to the Kingdom of Naples, where she was a success at court, befriending the queen, the sister of Marie Antoinette, and meeting Nelson.

I don't think this rose likes the potting soil mix. I swapped the potting soil to garden soil and she seems to do way better. She's looking her healthiest for a while. Growing roses in pots for a few years now, I'm getting the feeling that potting nixes are way overrated.

Emma, Lady Hamilton
Emma, Lady Hamilton (26 April 1765; baptised 12 May 1765 – 15 January 1815) is best remembered as the mistress of Lord Nelson and as the muse of George Romney. She was born Amy Lyon in Ness near Neston, Cheshire, England, the daughter of Henry Lyon, a blacksmith who died when she was two months old. She was raised by her mother, the former Mary Kidd, at Hawarden, and received no formal education. She later changed her name to Emma Hart.
Early life
Details of Emma's early life are unclear, but at age 12, she was known to be working as a maid at the Hawarden home of Doctor Honoratus Leigh Thomas, a surgeon working in Chester. Then she worked for the Budd family in Chatham Place, Blackfriars, London, and met a maid called Jane Powell, who wanted to be an actress. Emma joined in with Jane's rehearsals for various tragic roles. After this short stay in London, Emma went back to her mother, who was living near Oxford Street. Inspired by Jane's enthusiasm for the theatre, Emma started work at the Drury Lane theatre in Covent Garden, as maid to various actresses, among them Mary Robinson. However, this paid little.
