Syrianska FC 2 - 1 Jönköpings Södra IF 16 10 2010
SÖDERTÄLJE
Peter Ijeh scored either side of the break as
Syrianska FC beat
Jönköping Södra with 2-1 in our last home game of the
2010 season of Superettan.
Syrianska FC started the match the brighter of the two sides with
Robert Massi making his presence felt down the left side, but Jönköping Södra soon found their feet and drive from midfield as Cederqvist drove his side forward. However, Jönköping's forward line were misfiring and not connecting with the many through passes played.
Södertälje fotbollsarena erupted with less than four minutes on the clock as the
Suryoye bagged an important early goal. The Suryoye were quick off the blocks and Peter Ijeh put us in front, lashing home in an unmarked position on the left after
Dinko Felic and Robert Massi stressed Östlund to a wrong back pass. Peter Ijeh turned
Alexander Nadj before firing his shot into the net.
The visitors were back on level footing just past the half-hour mark when Mathias Etéus rose in front of the defence on the edge of the box to hit home a Östlund cross.
Three minutes from half time Jönköping's
Tomas Backman saw his second yellow card for the evening and was sent off by the referee. It would become a high hill to climb for the visitors, as three points in the game was vital for them.
Syrianska FC had a penalty claim turned down early in the second half when Robert Massi was inexplicably cautioned for diving after being brought down in the box, but when Jönköping Södra defender tried to prevent Peter Ijeh from head a second goal, the referee had no option but to
point to the spot.
Peter Ijeh stepped up and saw his initial shot sail straight up in the right corner while
Alexander Najd went the wrong way. Syrianska FC is just one point from climbing to
Swedish footballs finest room, Allsvenskan.
Next Saturday that dream could become reality as Väsby takes on Syrianska FC in the last game of the season.
