Regardless of all the western rhetoric voiced publicly on the “inaccuracy” of the Russian air strikes in Syria, a confidential NATO analytical report on the issue has admitted Russia’s superiority over the Alliance’s forces and has praised Moscow for the “accuracy and efficiency” of its air strikes.

The Russian Air Force has been repeatedly denounced for “killing civilians” in Syria, recounts the German magazine Focus Online. Ironically however, NATO praises Russia for the “accuracy and efficiency” in the country, the outlet adds, citing a confidential report written by the Alliance, which Focus Online has apparently got hold of.

The estimates in the report also suggest that the efficiency of the Russian air troops is by far greater than that of NATO's forces.

The analysis also points to the high level of professionalism of the Russian military, adding that the impact of the air strikes performed by Russian pilots is a lot higher than that of the Alliance.

The paper notes that the number of Russian combat aircraft deployed on the ground is “clearly inferior in number” to the jets deployed by NATO, however the higher frequency of the Russian air raids made them more effective.

The secret document apparently states that 40 Russian combat aircraft stationed at the Russian base in Latakia perform up to 75 sorties daily, each time delivering “accurate and efficient” air strikes, while NATO forces, which have 180 combat jets are able to hit only 20 targets per day.

The paper also says that Russia is using more advanced combat aircraft in Syria. For example, the SU-35 fighter, which according to the estimates of western experts, is far superior to its western analogues.

In addition, Moscow also uses data provided by Syrian aerial intelligence, plus Russian Special Forces regularly provide information of the strategically important objects on the ground to the Russian Air Forces.

What we need ,is the common morality.ONLY THAT FAR ,AND NOT ANY LONGER/

No. The German text says Su 35 is superior to most planes from western production. No wonder it is newer than most planes sent there.
  • ivanwa88
Sterndaler from a capability perspective there is no comparison between Su-35 and the latest S variant......new ground breaking radar with also evolutionary ground breaking electronics that enables the plane to target up to 8 hi-speed aircraft at a distance of up to 300 km and destroy them simultaneously it is also equipped with again advanced jamming capability.
S variant is potentially a mass destroyer of NATO aircraft.

ivanwa88, exactly. I think the only reason the US sent some raptors to the ME theatre IS the Su-35. A message to the Russian commanders, nothing more.
  • ivanwa88
wendigo as far as it is known out over 200 km Su-35S has a massive advantage over Raptor only at about 150 km does that advantage start to even out. At 2400 kmh S variant is as fast as Raptor but more manoeuvrable its new ground breaking radar and avionics plus new 6th generation missiles give Su-35S a huge advantage.

5 are currently stationed in Syria.

It must feel good for the Russian to admit they are doing a good. Even better than the NATO analog's
  • wendigo
Ivanwa88, no argument there. But they could be saying, 'we will put our best there too, and we are willing to escalate.' A political message as much as military.

Btw, this isn't the same Su-35 variant Russia just sold to china, is it?

Two men looked out from prison bars. One saw the ground, the other the stars.
NATO is seeing the ground because it is instructed to be around the area forever, whereas, Russia is seeing the stars because it plans to finish the job quickly and go home.!

for me it is the question of how a 'confidential report' of this nature has come to the surface.
  • earlw35
Smaller the Aircraft number, but harder the punch, with respect NATO.

Good that the West acknowledges Russia's strength, they cannot just let Russia do its dirty work of fighting ISIS.

wendigo don't think Chinese are interested in non S variant? yes of course US/NATO have gloated for years about its superior aircraft ala F-16. That has all changed in the blink of an eye, hence why Turkey stated recently it wont send its planes into Syria for fear they will be shot down! as much also about S400 missile system and pantzer as well.

Any thought of Turkey launching a massive armada from Incirlik has been denied! im sure it was in the plans however Russian multi layer defence systems capable of destroying 500+ in first wave.

Just to explain Turkey has built up over years one of the largest fleet of aircraft in the world, much of the aggressive rhetoric is based on there reliance of this fact.
