On November 13, 2014, Christina Tobin interviewed John Dennis, who ran for Congress 3 times against incumbent California Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi. He has been endorsed by a wide array of influential individuals including Congressman Ron Paul and former Green Party Vice Presidential nominee Matt Gonzalez due to his unifying message of peace, justice, and liberty. In 2010 during his first Congressional bid, John Dennis held the Principles Over Politics Rally with Dr. Ron Paul and Matt Gonzalez in front of San Francisco’s city hall to call out Nancy Pelosi for supporting the very same policies she claimed to be against as soon as the Democrats claimed the majority in 2006. Despite their political diversity, they stood together in unity to say that wars, surveillance, and corporatism do not suddenly become acceptable just because a new party is in power. They are always unacceptable no matter which political party has majority in Washington, D.C. In 2014, Nancy Pelosi rejected a debate invitation from Free and Equal, a national election reform organization. The event, slated for San Francisco’s Regency Ballroom on October 16, would have included John Dennis, Pelosi’s Republican challenger. The debate would have also marked the first time since 1992 that the Congresswoman appeared in a forum of any type with an opposing candidate. Her campaign chose to maintain her unbroken record of refusing to face the very people she represents in a public forum. In the interview, John Dennis sheds light on Pelosi’s track record of elusiveness for public discourse/debate as well as her record of supporting the wars, renewing the PATRIOT Act, renewing unconstitutional NSA spying activities, and colluding with banks, corporations, military contractors, and other large special interest groups. Dennis leads by example by always maintaining open communication channels with his supporters and everyday people who have questions about why he should be their next representative.
