Is HPD doing the best it can to respect Constitutional rights?

A person asked me to review video of an encounter, and I believe it is worth using this to show how important some of our Constitutional rights are for the People of the United States. The officer says he received complaints from people who did not know the law about a person carrying a rifle. The officer said on video that he tried to explain to the public about the laws in Texas ,but as we see he ended up caving to the uniformed minority and went out to go and checkout the person anyway because a few people were offended by the sight of a gun. The government is supposed to protect our rights not hurt them because someone is offended. Thanks for trying Officer, educating the public on our rights is indeed hard work. The person carrying was not breaking any laws, just peaceably walking on the sidewalk. He continued to walk when the officer explained that he was not being detained, as there was nothing to discuss there was no reason to stop (Kind of like when a sales man wants to sell you something you don't want, do you stop to listen? Most people would not stop if they were not interested in what the other person was trying to sell, same with HPD, sorry not interested the 5th amendment provides you that right). If I am not being detained then I will be on my way! Once the officer failed to get start up a conversation to discuss, he tried again by openly carrying an AR15. He then detained a person to have a conversation and try to figure out if any laws were broken. A call to the Harris County DA's office was made and ultimately the officer confirms that there were no laws broken and lets the person go. The problem with this encounter is that no laws were broken from the start that would merit the encounter in the first place. Also the backup officer came and pointed the camera in the wrong direction on purpose thus making it impossible for the person to exercise his 1st amendment right. The camera was later turned back at the encounter however and we were able to see the rest of the encounter. Ultimately the person was released and allowed to continue on his way.
