An agitation exacerbated by the two party system, both in the UK and in the States. That system of two dogs constantly baying at each other, and going for each other's throats at every opportunity ... However, this adversarial system has definitely passed its use-by-date. In this age of Armageddon, where the world can be destroyed at the push of a button, we need a political system which has breadth, depth, and humanity....

I saw how difficult our criminal justice system was on sexual assault victims. Ours is not a kind of adversarial system ... And, of course, others still wrote let the system be, however imperfect. In the wake of the acquittal of Jian Ghomeshi on four counts of sexual assault and one of choking, a cry has gone up from some lawyers and women’s rights advocates that the system for trying such cases needs to be reformed ... So what do the critics want? ... Granted that given how our adversarial system works, and that sexual assaults are seldom seen by independent witnesses, these trials are very traumatic for Crown witnesses ... ....
