The Apprentice (U.S. season 2)

The Apprentice 2 is the second season of The Apprentice, which began on September 9, 2004 on NBC. Although this season did not match the ratings of the first and dropped out of the Top 10 Nielsen, it still performed strongly overall, ranking #11 with an average of 16.14 million viewers.

Season changes

This season featured 18 candidates, whereas the first season only had 16.

Three new twists were introduced to The Apprentice this season. First, each team was unexpectedly forced at the season's outset to make a 1-for-1 player swap, resulting in a male on the female team (Bradford), and a female on the male team (Pamela). The traded members then became the project managers for the first task. Second, it was revealed that a project manager for the winning team would be immune from being fired the following week.

Finally, the losing project manager could choose either two or three people to bring to the boardroom to be considered for firing. Surprisingly, the option to take three people to the boardroom was only used twice, with the first person (Ivana Ma) who did so making the decision after pressure to do so from Donald Trump.

Vania Todorova Kaludova (Bulgarian Cyrillic: Ваня Тодорова Калудова), better known as Ivana (Ивана), is a popular Bulgarian female singer. She is one of the most prolific performers in the pop-folk music style in Bulgaria.

Biography

Ivana was born on January 31, 1969 in Aytos, Bulgaria. She graduated from the Svishtov University of Economics, and then studied at the Bourgas Free University for one term before leaving the law for later. Meanwhile, Ivana married. She has a daughter whose name is Teodora (Теодора).

Career

Ivana’s father worked along the Black Sea coast with his orchestra. One night, their singer got sick and his daughter Ivana had to sing several Bulgarian folklore songs in place of her. Ivana was perfect. She was immediately offered to perform with the orchestra for the summer. She was 14 years old and really liked being on the stage. After that she made a female formation called "Prima +", including her, Stoqna and Rumen Radoinov. The group was invited to sing at the hotel estate `Prikazkite` (translation: "The tales"). Ivana’s talent was noticed by the owner of the musical company Payner – Mitko Dimitrov(Bulgarian: Митко Димитров). He offered her a contract. Vanya Todorova Kaludova became Ivana and the hits started to appear one by one. Her first song is `Idol`, the second one, a duet with the male singer Kosta Markov, was `Darvo bez koren`(A tree without roots). Her third single became a real hit – `100 patrona` (100 bullets). The debut album was named after this song. She came to prominence and fame with that album, released in 2000. In the next 8 years Ivana became the biggest Bulgarian star. She is also known as "the singer of the people", not only because she is loved by many, but also for her cheerful manner while communicating with her fans.

London Tipton

London Leah Tipton is a fictional character in Disney's Suite Life franchise which consisted of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and its sequel The Suite Life on Deck. London has also appeared on cross-over episodes of other Disney series, such as Wizards of Waverly Place, That's So Raven and Hannah Montana and the special, Studio DC: Almost Live.

The character is portrayed by Brenda Song, who was offered the starring female role without an audition. While the character is an obvious parody of socialite Paris Hilton, Song describes the character as being complex and has stated London Tipton is her fantasy character. The character is presented as a ditzy, privileged girl with hidden depth. She is the daughter of Wilfred Tipton, the owner of the Tipton Hotel chain and the SS Tipton. Along with Dylan and Cole Sprouse, she has appeared in every episode of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and The Suite Life on Deck.

Television series background

London Tipton is the only child of wealthy businessman Wilfred Tipton. Her mother, who has never been named or seen, is of Thai origin; her father is American, though he claims British citizenship for income tax purposes. She is heiress to the Tipton corporate empire (which includes the Tipton hotel chain and many other companies, including several record labels). It is revealed in The Suite Life on Deck episode "A London Carol" that London at some time loved helping people, and that every Christmas she volunteered at homeless shelters.
