Louis Lecoin, (1888-1971).
French antimilitarist, pacifist, anarchist.

Born September 30, 1988; died, age 83, June 23, 1971.

Signatory to the "Manifesto Against the War", signed by 35 anarchists, including Errico Malatesta, Domela Nieuwenhuis, Alexander Berkman, Emma Goldman, Alexander Schapiro, etc., opposing WWI.

Lecoin formed the "Comité pour l'Espagne libre," in the 30s (later the SIA [solidarité internationale antifasciste]), issued the anti-war leaflet, "Paix immédiat," (signed by a number of people who were jailed for doing so), published "La liberté" (founded 1959), & was a lifelong agitator for the of rights of conscientious objectors (CO).

Many anarchists over the years were involved with Louis Lecoin — including Henry Poulaille, Germaine Berton, Robert Proix, Nicolas Faucier, Pierre Le Meillour, Roger Paon, Rirette Maitrejean, Marc Pierrot, & Pierre Martin.
