Inspiration of this song:
on April 24, 1970, a member of the World United Formosans for Independence Peter Huang (黃文雄) attempted to assassinate Chiang Ching-kuo(蔣經國), who was the Vice Premier of the Republic of China at the time in front of the Plaza Hotel in New York. The attempt ended in failure, however, when pushed to the ground by security personnel, Huang shouted "let me stand up like a Taiwanese!"

[Inspiration of this song]
The BuTik Palace in Puli was used as command headquarters by Japanese colonial government to repress a Seediq Aboriginal Uprising in Wushe in 1930. During the initial phase of the 228 Massacre in 1947, militiamen in Taiwan also used it as its command headquarters. The chants in the second half of the song are the names of all martyrs who sacrificed themselves in resistance against dictators and fought for independence.
※ 暮沉武德殿：埔里武德殿為1930年霧社事件中日本政府的剿番本部。亦為1947年二二八事件的台灣民兵指揮本部。本曲後半段念咒般低吟，為台灣史上對抗獨裁、爭取獨立自主而犧牲的所有先烈姓名。

二戰後從日本的南洋戰場歸來，卻在回到台灣後，葬送在從中國敗亡到台灣的中國國民黨一連串的白色恐怖屠殺之中。
ソニックの新しいＰＶは「カオル」の続き、戦争から生還した戦士が帰郷して国民党の恐怖政治により、銃殺され死亡した。愛しい妻は半世紀後になんとソニックの歌声の中で再び夫の姿を見たという物語。
A Taiwanese soldier who belongs to Japan Imperial Army was finally back from the battle ground in WWII and reunited with his beloved, but what he doesn't know is the 'KMT Party' of China which were defeated by Communist Party in their civil war came to Taiwan after Japan left here. Soon after their coming, many Taiwanese rebelled against KMT's cruel governance. But then, there was a 228 Massacre happened. Hundreds of thousands Taiwanese people got arrested and killed in secret. Once again, their beloved lost them, but this time they can only reunite in the dream which was never happened in reality.

Chthonic (
/ˈkθɒnɪk/, from Greek χθόνιος – chthonios, "in, under, or beneath the earth", from χθών – chthōn "earth"; pertaining to the Earth; earthy; subterranean) designates, or pertains to, deities or spirits of the underworld, especially in relation to Greek religion. The Greek word khthon is one of several for "earth"; it typically refers to the interior of the soil, rather than the living surface of the land (as Gaia or Ge does) or the land as territory (as khora (χώρα) does). It evokes at once abundance and the grave.
The pronunciation is somewhat awkward for English speakers. Most dictionaries, such as the OED, state that the first two letters should be pronounced as [k], /ˈkθɒnɪk/; others, such as the AHD, record these letters as silent, /ˈθɒnɪk/. The modern pronunciation of the Greek word "χθόνιος" is [xθoɲos], although the Classical Greek pronunciation would have been something similar to [kʰtʰonios].
While terms such as "Earth deity" or Earth mother have rather sweeping implications in English, the words khthonie and khthonios had a more precise and technical meaning in Greek, referring primarily to the manner of offering sacrifices to the deity in question.

During the initial phase of the 228 Massacre in 1947, militiamen in Taiwan also used it as its command headquarters. Chthonic is a Taiwanese metal band originally formed in 1995, with the existing line-up having been together since 2005. on April 24, 1970, a member of the World United Formosans for Independence Peter Huang (黃文雄) attempted to assassinate Chiang Ching-kuo(蔣經國), who was the Vice Premier of the Republic of China at the time in front of the Plaza Hotel in New York. The attempt ended in failure, however, when pushed to the ground by security personnel, Huang shouted "let me stand up like a Taiwanese!"

Inspiration of this song:
on April 24, 1970, a member of the World United Formosans for Independence Peter Huang (黃文雄) attempted to assassinate Chiang Ching-kuo(蔣經國), who was the Vice Premier of the Republic of China at the time in front of the Plaza Hotel in New York. The attempt ended in failure, however, when pushed to the ground by security personnel, Huang shouted "let me stand up like a Taiwanese!"

The BuTik Palace in Puli was used as command headquarters by Japanese colonial government to repress a Seediq Aboriginal Uprising in Wushe in 1930. During the initial phase of the 228 Massacre in 1947, militiamen in Taiwan also used it as its command headquarters. The chants in the second half of the song are the names of all martyrs who sacrificed themselves in resistance against dictators and fought for independence.
※ 暮沉武德殿：埔里武德殿為1930年霧社事件中日本政府的剿番本部。亦為1947年二二八事件的台灣民兵指揮本部。本曲後半段念咒般低吟，為台灣史上對抗獨裁、爭取獨立自主而犧牲的所有先烈姓名。

A Taiwanese soldier who belongs to Japan Imperial Army was finally back from the battle ground in WWII and reunited with his beloved, but what he doesn't know is the 'KMT Party' of China which were defeated by Communist Party in their civil war came to Taiwan after Japan left here. Soon after their coming, many Taiwanese rebelled against KMT's cruel governance. But then, there was a 228 Massacre happened. Hundreds of thousands Taiwanese people got arrested and killed in secret. Once again, their beloved lost them, but this time they can only reunite in the dream which was never happened in reality.

2013年門票秒殺的閃靈「民謠不插電」演唱會後，一張民謠風格的閃靈專輯已是眾望所歸。閃靈順應民意，潛心創作改編精選歌曲， 挑戰成軍十八年的新境界，終於完成閃靈首張民謠作品《失竊千年》，將於十二月底推出。搭配新專輯，閃靈更將於十二月九日推出MTV巨星演唱會「閃靈不插電演唱會」，不僅為新專輯的打頭陣，更是系列活動中唯一一場完整演出，邀請知名香港歌手盧凱彤來台擔任特別來賓，將有機會聽到她特別獻唱台語、與小黑對飆吉他。同時，曾與閃靈合作的民謠宗師陳明章，這次將帶領的福爾摩沙淡水走唱團多位團員，合組豪華的十五人民謠大樂隊，詮釋閃靈的特別曲目！

2013年門票秒殺的閃靈「民謠不插電」演唱會後，一張民謠風格的閃靈專輯已是眾望所歸。閃靈順應民意，潛心創作改編精選歌曲， 挑戰成軍十八年的新境界，終於完成閃靈首張民謠作品《失竊千年》，將於十二月底推出。搭配新專輯，閃靈更將於十二月九日推出MTV巨星演唱會「閃靈不插電演唱會」，不僅為新專輯的打頭陣，更是系列活動中唯一一場完整演出，邀請知名香港歌手盧凱彤來台擔任特別來賓，將有機會聽到她特別獻唱台語、與小黑對飆吉他。同時，曾與閃靈合作的民謠宗師陳明章，這次將帶領的福爾摩沙淡水走唱團多位團員，合組豪華的十五人民謠大樂隊，詮釋閃靈的特別曲目！
這次全球首次製作的台灣樂團暨台語的不插電演唱會開辦，不僅將完美呈現該節目品牌的獨特風格，也將融合台灣與閃靈特色。明年初將在台灣MTV台播出現場實況，也計畫在歐美日的MTV台播出。為了紀念這個台灣搖滾樂界的經典時刻，購票者將得到演唱會紀念購物袋，這卡袋子，不只是你生活的購物的好幫手，你還會發現，它神奇地剛好能裝下閃靈新專輯豪華《千年寶盒》！
