"I Belong to You" is a 1991 song by Nikki Sudden from the album The Jewel Thief.The songs were recorded during a brief period when Sudden guested at R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck's home in Athens, Georgia. According Nikki Sudden, the inspiration for the song came from Roger McGuinn's "King of the Hill" song. The song was later collected on the 2000 compilation The Last Bandit: The Best of Nikki Sudden.

"I Belong to You" is an R&B–pop song written by Derek Bramble and Franne Golde, with production handled by Narada Michael Walden for American singer Whitney Houston's third studio album I'm Your Baby Tonight (1990). The single was a Top 10 hit on the Billboard R&B chart and garnered Houston a nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 35th Grammy Awards in 1993.

Critical reception

James Hunter of Rolling Stone described the beat of the song "I Belong to You": "which acts out its claim in a penthouse bedroom, Walden uncorks high-end grooves accented by pinballing counterrhythms."

Music video

The music video is a like a 'Part II' to the "My Name Is Not Susan" video. It features some shots from "My Name Is Not Susan" that are extended and/or unreleased in the video to that song. Former boxer heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is also featured in the video. Along the way, the video includes footage of Houston's I'm Your Baby Tonight World Tour.

I Belong (Candice Alley song)

"I Belong" is a pop song written by Candice Alley and produced by Michael Szumowski for Alley's second album Candice Alley (2007). It was released as the album's second single in Australia on 21 July 2007 as a CD single and digital download. Alley says "I Belong is about moving on and being optimistic - about letting go of old things. It’s a positive song". She wrote the song in 2003 while writing her previous hit "Falling", and was excited when she saw it in production, she states "It's great when something you have written has been given a pulse. I can hear and see it now thanks to the video and that is a great feeling". Producer Szumowski states "It was one of the first songs we started working on. It’s got a chorus that creeps up and hits you, and I loved it straight away". The song failed to chart on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart but peaked at number eight on the Australian Independent Singles Chart

The music video was directed by Grant Marshall and filmed at Movie World Studios at the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia in June 2007. Alley had considered filming the video in Sydney or Melbourne, where she is based, but decided it would be better to film it in the Gold Coast. It is a simple clip of Alley playing guitar with her three piece band on a stage wearing a black top, jeans and black heels. "It sort of has an Indy-glam feel about it. It's very sparse, warehouse type setting but it really brings out the best in Candice because she looks great" states Marshall. The video was released in July 2007 and has got minor play.

I Belong (Kathy Kirby song)

"I Belong" is a song that served as the United Kingdom's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1965. Its music was written by singer Daniel Boone (credited under his real name, Peter Lee Sterling), and its lyrics were written by Phil Peters. It was performed at Eurovision by Kathy Kirby, where it came in 2nd place, losing to Luxembourg's "Poupée de cire, poupée de son", performed by France Gall. Kirby also recorded the song as a single, and it peaked on the music charts at No. 36 in Britain and No. 5 in Singapore.

The song tells of the joy of finding true love for the first time, after a string of bad relationships:

The song was performed by Kirby at Eurovision 1965, held in Naples on March 21, 1965. The song was performed second on the night, following the Netherlands 't Is genoeg" sung by Conny Vandenbos and preceding Spain´s ¡Qué bueno, qué bueno!" sung by Conchita Bautista . By the close of voting, it had received 26 points, placing it 2nd in a field of 18.
