We are now accepting entries to the 12th International ARC Salon Competition!
The most prestigious realist art competition in the Americas and perhaps the world, the International ARC Salon offers over $100,000 in cash awards and International recognition through partnerships with prestigious magazines, galleries, museum exhibitions, and a strong online presence. Artists are welcome to enter works and can win the top awards whether or not their works are available for in-person viewing or for the live exhibition.

We are currently remodeling the entire ARC Website from the ground up to bring an easier navigation and superior user experience to our ARC visitors. The full website will be available this summer, but we are launching our new Salon entry pages and system now.

Pre-Raphaelites: Beauty and Rebellion
This major exhibition of more than 120 paintings by masters including Rossetti, Ford Madox Brown, William Holman Hunt, and Millais will highlight Liverpool’s significant role in the Pre-Raphaelite movement, reinforcing the city’s position as the Victorian art capital of the north.

Jeff Hein is an American artist born 1974. He works in a variety of mediums but is best known for his figurative oil paintings. New ARC Living Artist™
ARC is pleased to welcome Laurie Anspach as an ARC Living Artist™.

Laurie’s career began by earning a BA degree from the Rhode Island School of Design. She created designs for leading fashion industry studios in New York and later for the top European market.

In a project close to her heart, she is working with HeartsApart.org and the Heart Galleries, two national nonprofit organizations, to paint portraits of military families for dedicated service men and women who are being deployed oversees and to paint foster children in need of permanent homes.

Working between New York and Paris, Richard is a painter, writer, and designs coins for the United States Mint. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the New York Academy of Art.

His work is held in private and public collections, and his paintings have been exhibited across Europe and North America. In addition to having given lectures and workshops at The Representational Art Conference, Laguna College of Art and Design, and the Lyme Academy, Richard is the founder of the Berkshire Painting Residency.

Hieronymus Bosch – Visions of genius
Hieronymus Bosch is viewed worldwide as the most intriguing and exciting Netherlandish artist of the late Middle Ages. The exhibition includes the lion’s share of his surviving paintings and drawings, and is based on the most comprehensive research ever performed into the artist’s oeuvre: the Bosch Research and Conservation Project (BRCP). Never before have so many of Bosch’s works returned to his home town of ‘s-Hertogenbosch, where he created them over 500 years ago. The exceptionally large number of works loaned to the exhibition will offer visitors a unique opportunity to study close up the revolutionary and highly imaginative visual language of Hieronymus Bosch.
The exhibition runs from February 13 – May 8, 2016 at the Het Noordbrabants Museum – Verwersstraat 41, ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.

Vigée Le Brun – Woman Artist in Revolutionary France
Elisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun was one of the finest eighteenth-century French painters and among the most important of all women artists. She achieved success in France and Europe during one of the most eventful, turbulent periods in European history. The Metropolitan Museum of Art – 1000 Fifth Avenue (at 82nd Street) New York, NY will be holding the first retrospective devoted to Vigée Le Brun in modern times. The eighty works on view will be paintings and a few pastels from European and American public and private collections.
The exhibition runs from February 15 – May 15, 2016.

“Svetlana Cameron (b. 1978) is a Russian-born British portrait artist dedicated to the revival of traditional fine art. Trained in the methods of Old Masters in the private atelier system, she specializes in portraiture in the style of classical realism. Svetlana is based in the Isle of Man (British Isles) where she works from her studio in Braddan. A sought-after portrait painter, she travels internationally to exhibit and meet her sitters.”

Carlo Russo’s painting, Mortars, which won an honorable mention in the Still life Category in the 2014/2015 ARC Salon Competition, has now sold. The painting is a part of the first live exhibition of the ARC Salon which traveled from the MEAM Museum in Barcelona and is now on display at the Salmagundi Club, New York City, until February 4th.
