Shadow

A shadow is a space where light from a light source is blocked by an opaque object. It occupies all of the three-dimensional volume behind an object with light in front of it. The cross section of a shadow is a two-dimensional silhouette, or reverse projection of the object blocking the light.

Point and non-point light sources

A point source of light casts only a simple shadow, called an "umbra". For a non-point or "extended" source of light, the shadow is divided into the umbra, penumbra and antumbra. The wider the light source, the more blurred the shadow becomes. If two penumbras overlap, the shadows appear to attract and merge. This is known as the Shadow Blister Effect.

The outlines of the shadow zones can be found by tracing the rays of light emitted by the outermost regions of the extended light source. The umbra region does not receive any direct light from any part of the light source, and is the darkest. A viewer located in the umbra region cannot directly see any part of the light source.

Julie London

Julie London (born Gayle Peck; September 26, 1926 – October 18, 2000) was an American nightclub, jazz and pop singer, film and television actress and a former pinup model, whose career span five decades of television. She was noted for her smoky, sensual husky voice and languid demeanor. She released 32 albums of pop and jazz standards during the 1950s and 1960s, with her signature song being the classic "Cry Me a River", which she introduced in 1955. She had also appeared as a guest on several talk shows and as a panelist on numerous game shows.

London's 35-year acting career began in films in 1944, and included playing opposite Rock Hudson in The Fat Man (1951), Gary Cooper in Man of the West (1958) and Robert Mitchum in The Wonderful Country (1959). She achieved continuing success in the television medical drama Emergency! (1972–1979), co-starring her real-life husband, Bobby Troup, and produced by her ex-husband, Jack Webb, in which London played the female lead role of Nurse Dixie McCall.

Luke Christopher

Luke Christopher (born May 8, 1993) is an American rapper, singer, producer and songwriter. He is signed by ByStorm Entertainment / RCA and has released numerous mixtapes throughout his career.

Early life

Luke Christopher grew up in the San Fernando Valley and, as a kid, he was influenced by the likes of Michael Jackson, Elton John, Kanye West, Mos Def, Stevie Wonder, and John Mayer. His first contact with hip hop music was when he received Tupac Shakur's album All Eyez on Me as a Christmas gift. As a teenager, he started recording tracks with his brother and cousin in GarageBand. After graduating from high school, he was accepted by the University of Southern California, but he did not attend in order to pursue his music career. Dropping out of college is what influenced his story telling style of rapping.

Career

Early on in his career, Christopher was tracked by Interscope's co-founder Jimmy Iovine and Ron Fair who signed him his senior year of high school. Before releasing his first mixtape, Christopher had released several songs, including "Roof Tops", a song featuring Asher Roth. On the New Year's Day of 2012, he released his debut mixtape, named "Building Skies". The music was compared to Drake's by musical website Breakonacloud.com. On July 6, 2012 he released "TMRW, TMRW", a mixtape that was hosted by the Los Angeles Leakers.

Julie Garwood

Julie Garwood (born in Kansas City, Missouri) is an American writer of over twenty-seven romance novels in both the historical and suspense subgenres. Over thirty-five million copies of her books are in print, and she has had at least 24 New York Times Bestsellers. She has also written a novel for young adults called A Girl Named Summer.

Biography

Julie Garwood was raised in Kansas City, Missouri, the sixth of seven children in a large Irish family. She has five sisters: Sharon, Kathleen, Marilyn, Mary Colette "Cookie", and Joanne, and one brother: Tom. After having a tonsillectomy at age six, because she missed so much school, she did not learn to read as the other children her age did. She was eleven before her mother realized Garwood was unable to read. A math teacher, Sister Elizabeth, devoted the entire summer that year to teaching Garwood how to read, and how to enjoy the stories she was reading. This teacher had such an impact on Garwood's life that she named her daughter Elizabeth.
