From April 2006 to November 2006 for control of the capital of the Al Anbar Governorate in western Iraq. A combined force of U.S. Soldiers, U.S. Marines, U.S. Navy SEALs, and Iraqi Security Forces fought insurgents for control of key locations in Ramadi, including the Government Center and the General Hospital. Coalition strategy relied on establishing a number of patrol bases called Operation Posts throughout the city.

The automatic gun M242 Bushmaster 25 mm is manufactured since 1981 by McDonnell Douglas. The firm, now incorporated into Boeing has produced more than 10,000 to arm including the LAV-25 and the US Navy patrol boats. The ATK firm resumed production. Improved versions such Busmaster III are produced.
It's a double-loading cannon and remote control shooting. Ammunition caliber 25 × 137 mm are divided into two bands driven electrically. The tube itself has 18 stripes on the right. An electric motor (24 V) 1 HP handles the repetition of moves. The M242 has three firing rates: piecemeal, 100, 200 strokes per minute. The maximum range varies depending on the ammunition fired.
The MK38 is the naval version of the M242, it equip the US Navy, with nearly 4,000 copies in 2012. At that time, the MK38 Mod.3 into service. Its 30mm tube, integrated to any naval platform, the patrol boat to the aircraft carrier. Fully stabilized, it is lined with a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun. His optronics pod incorporates referred day / night that allows both shooting that monitoring of surrounding waters or deck.

The United States Marine Corps (USMC) is a branch of the United States Armed Forces responsible for providing power projection from the sea, using the mobility of the United States Navy to deliver combined-arms task forces rapidly. It is one of seven uniformed services of the United States. In the civilian leadership structure of the United States military, the Marine Corps is a component of the United States Department of the Navy, often working closely with U.S. naval forces for training, transportation, and logistic purposes; however, in the military leadership structure the Marine Corps is a separate branch.
Captain Samuel Nicholas formed two battalions of Continental Marines on 10 November 1775 in Philadelphia as naval infantry. Since then, the mission of the Marine Corps has evolved with changing military doctrine and American foreign policy. The Marine Corps has served in every American armed conflict and attained prominence in the 20th century when its theories and practices of amphibious warfare proved prescient and ultimately formed the cornerstone of the Pacific campaign of World War II. By the mid-20th century, the Marine Corps had become the dominant theorist and practitioner of amphibious warfare. Its ability to rapidly respond on short notice to expeditionary crises gives it a strong role in the implementation and execution of American foreign policy.

The automatic gun M242 Bushmaster 25 mm is manufactured since 1981 by McDonnell Douglas. The firm, now incorporated into Boeing has produced more than 10,000 to arm including the LAV-25 and the US Navy patrol boats. The ATK firm resumed production. Improved versions such Busmaster III are produced.
It's a double-loading cannon and remote control shooting. Ammunition caliber 25 × 137 mm are divided into two bands driven electrically. The tube itself has 18 stripes on the right. An electric motor (24 V) 1 HP handles the repetition of moves. The M242 has three firing rates: piecemeal, 100, 200 strokes per minute. The maximum range varies depending on the ammunition fired.
The MK38 is the naval version of the M242, it equip the US Navy, with nearly 4,000 copies in 2012. At that time, the MK38 Mod.3 into service. Its 30mm tube, integrated to any naval platform, the patrol boat to the aircraft carrier. Fully stabilized, it is lined with a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun. His optronics pod incorporates referred day / night that allows both shooting that monitoring of surrounding waters or deck.

The Marines used a variety of weapons systems including 120mm mortars, M777A2 howitzers, LAV-25 light armored vehicles, SMAW-II rockets, M240G medium machine guns and Browning .50 caliber machine guns. MV-22 Ospreys airlifted Marines in a vertical assault from the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6), more than 300 miles away.
The 31st MEU played a major role in Operation Phantom Fury (2004) - the clearing of Fallujah in Iraq. Hypothetically, if the 31st MEU where combined with U.S. air power, they would probably have little trouble defeating any force ISIS could mount against them on the battlefield.

U.S. Marines assigned to 2d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion (LAAD) and Headquarters Battery, 10th Marine Regiment participate in a heavy machine gun range training day, where they used .50 cal machine gun and M240 against old tanks.
The M240 or Machine Gun, is a family of machine guns to use generalized loaded tape, operating gas using the cartridge 7.62 × 51 mm belt disintegrating M13, is the American variant of the Belgian FN MAG machine gun 58 (Mitrailleuse d'Appui Général, general purpose machine gun or GPMG).

The Ultra Heavy-Lift Amphibious Connector (UHAC) begins to rotate on the beach, July 9, at Marine Corps Training Area Bellows on Oahu, Hawaii during a Marine Corps Advanced Warfighting Experiment. The AWE is the culmination of a decade of progressive experimentation conducted by the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab (MCWL) where they are testing potential future technologies, solutions and concepts to future Marine Air Ground Task Force challenges. The AWE is taking part during the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2014. Lt. Col. Don Gordon, the current technology officer at MCWL, said the UHAC is one of those experimental technologies that displays a possible capability of being able to insert Marines in areas where current technology wouldn't be able to insert them based on current systems that are fielded. The UHAC prototype is a ship-to-shore connector and is half the size of the intended machine. The M4 (officially Carabine, 5.56 mm, M4) is a family of automatic assault rifles carbine , derived from M16 rifle , manufactured by the Colt company in the United States . It's the main infantry weapon in United States Marines, and is often used by many elite police units such as SWAT . The M4A1 often plays an important role in various combat operations , having been designed for combat in confined spaces , mobile crews and air units, paratroopers and special military operations.
This is a carbine version of the assault rifle M-16 , which uses 5.56 x 45 mm NATO ammunition with a charger of 30 cartridges . It"s more maneuverable in close combat, being more compact and agile due to its size. In comparison, the barrel and forearm are shorter and the butt is telescopic. With his boot filled weighs 3.1 kg. Making it ideal for combat CQB or urban combat .The M4 is the modern successor of the CAR-15 , which was then officially renamed XM117.

In order to become United States Marine Corps Officers, men and women spend a minimum of ten weeks at Officer Candidates School in Quantico, Virginia, where they are trained, evaluated and screened to ensure they possess the qualities needed to lead in the United States Armed Forces. A sniper is a highly trained marksman who operates alone, in a pair, or with a sniper team to maintain close visual contact with the enemy and engage targets from concealed positions or distances exceeding the detection capabilities of enemy personnel. These sniper teams operate independently, with little combat asset support from their parent units. Snipers typically have highly selective and specialized training and use high-precision/special application rifles and optics, and often have sophisticated communication assets to feed valuable combat information back to their units.
In addition to marksmanship, military snipers are trained in camouflage, field craft, infiltration, special reconnaissance and observation, surveillance and target acquisition.

US Marines Uniforms, Weapons, and Equipment Pre-World War 1 and World War 1. Like the US Army, the Marines uniform, weapons, and equipment evolved during the early years of the 1900s.
During WW1, the US Military feared gas attacks from the Axis Powers. Many soldiers and Marines were issued gas masks that were intended for work use in mines.
In addition, the war also developed the use of blunt weapon objects that both the Allies and Axis used against each other.
The weapons displayed are the Springfield 1903 rifle in .30-06, American Enfield rifle in .30-06, 1911 handgun in .45 caliber ACP, 1897 Winchester shotgun in 12 gauge, and the Colt 1901 in .38 caliber.
Special thanks to "Tinfoil Hat Man" for presenting his display of the Uniforms, Weapons, and Equipment of the US Marines Pre-World War 1 and during World War 1.
