This video demonstrates a really great editing tool in Paint Shop Pro - the Edit Selection method. It is easy, accurate and can be used with any selection from easy to very complex. Extracting objects from an image will no longer be a tedious job you want to ignore. If you find selections with PSP challenging then you will love this method.

this is about the same as green screen for video edits. simply change background to 1 color. and export using PNG Optimizer with the transparency feature. Also select areas you want to keep from changing color, perhaps invert as well.
now in this video, if i had freehand selected more of penelope cruz better, then there wouldnt have been neon green on her shirt. i inverted the selection so to keep the inside areas from changing to the foreground neon green color. in fact you don't have to invert 1 selection, you can have multiple selections by pressing shift and left clicking to select an additional on screen selection. each selection will be safe from changing color.
adjust the tolerance so that the most unwanted background is removed while leaving the desired image unaffected as much as possible.
double click in the unselected area or off of picture canvas to use the tool.

Paint Shop Pro (PSP) is a raster graphics editor and, later in the series, a vector graphics editor for computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system that was originally published by Minneapolis-based Jasc Software. In October 2004, Corel Corporation purchased Jasc Software and the distribution rights to Paint Shop Pro. PSP functionality can be extended by Photoshop-compatible plugins.
Originally called simply Paint Shop, the first version, 1.0, was a basic picture converter between BMP, GIF and PCX formats, released in August 1990. Paint Shop was originally distributed as shareware and is still available at many download sites (4.12 being a popular version). Most newer versions are only commercially available although some have been distributed in the United Kingdom in computer magazine CDs after they became obsolete.
On November 28, 2007, Corel announced that the office in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, where Paint Shop Pro was created, would be shut down, with development moving to offices in California and China.

this is about the same as green screen for video edits. simply change background to 1 color. and export using PNG Optimizer with the transparency feature. Also select areas you want to keep from changing color, perhaps invert as well.
now in this video, if i had freehand selected more of penelope cruz better, then there wouldnt have been neon green on her shirt. i inverted the selection so to keep the inside areas from changing to the foreground neon green color. in fact you don't have to invert 1 selection, you can have multiple selections by pressing shift and left clicking to select an additional on screen selection. each selection will be safe from changing color.
adjust the tolerance so that the most unwanted background is removed while leaving the desired image unaffected as much as possible.
double click in the unselected area or off of picture canvas to use the tool.
