Innovation and Law This show inaugurates the 13-part series on medical research in Israel. Israel is renowned for its spectacular innovations in many fields. Our focus is on the medical research scientists at IMRC, The Institute for Medical Research, Israel-Canada at Hebrew University's Hadassah Medical School. Canada is involved in raising funds through the Canadian Friends of Hebrew University to help finance that research. There are also joint ventures between Hebrew U research scientists and Canadian collaborators. David Lichstein, a world-renowned researcher in medical neurobiology is the guest as the new chair of IMRC. Michael Kainan-Koren, another guest, heads Yissum, the Hebrew U. organization for transferring scientific discoveries into business opportunities. The show is called, "Innovation and Law," a seemingly odd combination when relating science and the international order. But it is not really. In science we go from the discovery of laws and translate them into practice. In politics, we find bad practices and try to develop sound laws. But they are often not applied. Janice Stein is our guest to explore international law applied to Israel's wars.
