Hey guys! Here's the video on my first ever cosplay: genderbent Uta. I pulled this together at the last minute for Connecticon 2015... which happened back in July LOL. So this video is 2 months late merppp.
NOTE: Uta's "eyebrow" piercings are a lot lower than where I put them. Put them more eye level if you are going for accuracy!
I opted to not have to hand draw all the tattoos as I knew I would be waking up early and would definitely not be awake enough or have enough time to draw all of the tattoos. The tattoos are great! they're shiny though, and slightly look like reptile skin but you really can't expect more because the tattoos are so large. It was hot and they were sweating off, but again, you can't expect too much. I was really happy with them and would buy them again! I also would have liked to try the kakugan scleral lenses but I just couldn't justify the price for them for only one convention, but I think they really would have made this look awesome!
I look forward to cosplaying in the future, the next time being in October at NYCC '15 :D

Rimi Natsukawa (夏川 りみ, Natsukawa Rimi?, born 9 October 1973) is an Okinawan singer. She is best known for her 2001 single "Nada Sōsō."
Natsukawa was born in Ishigaki, the largest city in the Yaeyama Islands chain. From a young age she enjoyed singing, and wanted to be a singer after hearing her father sing Yaeyama folk songs, such as "Tsuki nu Kaisha" (月ぬ美しゃ, Beauty of the Moon?) and "Densaa Bushi" (デンサー節, Tradition Song?). From 7 years old, she practised two hours everyday, with the help of her father, him training her up to be an enka singer. At 9, she won a local singing contest (the Chibikko Nodo Jiman Daikai (ちびっこのど自慢大会, Our Tiny Kids' Throats Competition?)). Natsukawa continued to win competitions, and in 1984 won the MBS TV show Shirōto Meiji-kai (素人名人会, Amateur Master Meet?)'s grand prize. In 1986, she won the Nagasaki Kayōsai (長崎歌謡祭, Nagasaki Song Festival?)'s grand prize (the youngest person to win this prize at the time).
Natsukawa, by chance, was scouted shortly after winning the competition at 13 years old. She moved to Tokyo, and started preparing for her debut. She debuted later in 1989 as an enka singer with the name "Misato Hoshi," under Pony Canyon. She released three singles in three years, and did not find much success.

Hey guys! Here's the video on my first ever cosplay: genderbent Uta. I pulled this together at the last minute for Connecticon 2015... which happened back in July LOL. So this video is 2 months late merppp.
NOTE: Uta's "eyebrow" piercings are a lot lower than where I put them. Put them more eye level if you are going for accuracy!
I opted to not have to hand draw all the tattoos as I knew I would be waking up early and would definitely not be awake enough or have enough time to draw all of the tattoos. The tattoos are great! they're shiny though, and slightly look like reptile skin but you really can't expect more because the tattoos are so large. It was hot and they were sweating off, but again, you can't expect too much. I was really happy with them and would buy them again! I also would have liked to try the kakugan scleral lenses but I just couldn't justify the price for them for only one convention, but I think they really would have made this look awesome!
I look forward to cosplaying in the future, the next time being in October at NYCC '15 :D
