After long, we will have two content driven movies clashing at Friday box-office this Friday (February 26) – Aligarh and Tere Bin Laden Dead or Alive. While there are two more- Bollywood Diaries and Love Shugun- unless either of them turns into a sleeper hit, it is Aligarh and Tere Bin Laden Dead or Alive that is buzzing for the moment.

Aligarh starring Manoj Bajpai seeks to tell the story of the later Prof. Siras whose homosexual orientation and his private act of having sex with his companion that resulted in his ostracisation from society. Directed by Hansal Mehta, Aligarh which was screened at MAMI has already drawn rave reviews for Bajpai’s standout performance and Mehta’s sensitive direction.

Tere Bin Laden Dead or Alive is the sequel to the hit Tere Bin Laden. The second installment of this political satire has the usual suspects Manish Paul and Pradhuman Singh, Piyush Mishra and Sugandha Garg. Sikander Kher joins the starcast this time around. It remains to be seen if the sequel has enough jokes to pack many laughs like last time.

What’s exciting from a viewer’s perspective is the fact that one gets to see different movies in the holiday weekend. It remains to be seen which movie will set the cash registers ringing this week.
