REVIEW: This is the first in series of 3 focusing on Canadian National Elections. Internationally, not alot of fanfare is made about who become Prime Minister of Canada, but hell, Canadian elections can sure as hell be exciting, and this year's upcoming 2015 election will be exciting. Over the last 20+ years we have seen some dramatic changes in the political spectrum, especially on the right. The Progressive Conservatives were the voice of Canada's right for 50 years until this election, 1993. The party went from Government to a rump of 2 seats in one night. I have 3 versions of the 1993 game but I believe this is the official scenario for PMFE Canada. It is also the most challenging as you begin with 2-4 seats upon starting the game. I hate to say it but this is a little out of whack, as the PC's were polling 30+% at the beginning of the campaign, it dramatically decreased during the campaign. As I said this is the most challenging, and my god, 70 seats is your goal. I have played this about 7 times over the last few weeks and I haven't come close to the goal using different strategies, so the game is flawed in a way. So in this game I went back to attack ads on all fronts, attacking the Liberals mainly in the East and Ontario and attacking the Reform Party in the West, who have taken over Conservative strongholds like Alberta. Bloc Qubecois in Quebec also. The main challenge is ratio of the funds we have and the cost of ads, you just can't blanket ad the whole nation in this game, not that that's a bad thing but there isn't much room to manoeuvre. The first couple of weeks is spent mostly adding PP's and CP's to the endorsers, aiming for the high momentum ones and taking the wind out of Reform's sail. The end result has never been very effective with the endorser's, you are hoping the momentum will push over 10 and you will have "Big Mo'" giving you extra CP's to play with. So in the end as PC's, yes I gained seats, but it's very hard to break 20% and 20 seats, highest percentage I received was 19. I still like the game, it's supposed to be hard for the PC's! But yeah not truly accurate, and no leader photos either! The video quality is blurry to begin with, but much clearer 4:37 in. Thanks for watching.
