Our trip to the west side of Manitoulin Island Ontario in September of 2014. We ride out until we hit the gravel roads and then stop at the lighthouse and enjoy the views of Lake Huron and the coast.
What a beautiful spot and there is camping right on the waters edge. I bring my bike down to the water for some glamor shots.
The shots at the end are from the sunset over Lake Mindemoya.

One of my favourite sections of Highway 6 in the Province of Ontario between Little Current on Manitoulin Island and Espanola just before the Trans Canada Highway. It cuts right through the La Cloche range with a perfect lookout at Willisville. Its short but very scenic.

Manitoulin District is a district in Northeastern Ontario within the Canadian province of Ontario. It was created in 1888 from part of Algoma District. The district seat is Gore Bay.
It comprises Manitoulin Island and a number of small islands around it, making it the smallest district in Ontario. Previously it included the municipality of Killarney on the mainland, until this was transferred to Sudbury District in the late 1990s. Subsequently, more mainland portions were added to Killarney and these, together with Unorganized Mainland Manitoulin District, were also transferred to Sudbury District in 2006, about 1,600 square kilometres (600 sq mi) in all.
Like the other districts of Northern Ontario, the Manitoulin District does not have a county or regional municipality tier of government. All services in the district are provided either by the individual municipalities or directly by the provincial government. Services are provided jointly with the Sudbury District from its district seat in Espanola.

Manitoulin Island /ˌmænɨˈtuːlɨn/ is a Canadian lake island in Lake Huron, in the province of Ontario. It is the largest freshwater lake island in the world. In addition to the historic Anishinaabe and European settlement of the island, archeological discoveries at Sheguiandah have demonstrated Paleo-Indian and Archaic cultures dating from 10,000 BC to 2000 BC. The name of the island is the English version, via French, of the old Odawa name "Manidoowaaling", which means "cave of the spirit", named for an underwater cave where a powerful spirit dwells. By the 19th century the Odawa "l" was pronounced as "n". The same word with a newer pronunciation is used for the town Manitowaning (19th century Odawa "Manidoowaaning"), which is located on Manitoulin Island near the underwater cave where the spirit dwells. The modern Odawa name for Manitoulin Island is Mnidoo Mnis (Spirit Island). Manitoulin Island contains a number of lakes of its own. In order of size, its three most prominent lakes are Lake Manitou, Lake Kegawong and Lake Mindemoya. Each of these three lakes in turn have islands within them, the largest of these being Lake Mindemoya's 82 acre Treasure Island, located in the centre of Manitoulin. How to Load a Motorcycle on the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry - Bruce Peninsula, Tobermory, Manitoulin Island
Riders often wonder how ferries work for securing their rides. The Chi-Cheemaun Ferry on the Bruce Peninsula, Ontario Canada is a pretty good example of how easy and safe it is. The staff are super helpful and they supply the ropes. Some people bring their own tie downs but its not really necessary. Just leave it in gear, on the side stand and tie it off to the D rings on each side. Thanks for watching. -

Our trip to the west side of Manitoulin Island Ontario in September of 2014. We ride out until we hit the gravel roads and then stop at the lighthouse and enjoy the views of Lake Huron and the coast.
What a beautiful spot and there is camping right on the waters edge. I bring my bike down to the water for some glamor shots.

The staff are super helpful and they supply the ropes. Some people bring their own tie downs but its not really necessary. In this case, RAP stands for "Round Algonquin Park", one of the most iconic snowmobile tours in North America. We had the privilege of meeting a few of these people on our visit to the St Lawrence market during our stop in Toronto. Ben from Sausage King, says what keeps people coming back is that all of their sausages are free from 'fillers' ie. No gluten or wheat products and no preservatives. Charlene at Carousel Bakery had a hard time identifying her favourite thing about where she works. Charlene says that although there are so many items to choose from she is a fan of their peameal bacon which is a Canadian / Toronto tradition. She also boasted that all the ladies that work at the bakery are second to none. Nice work Charlene, the GCAT team admires your enthusiasm and loyalty.
Another local face at the St Lawrence market is Murry who you can find at the Golden Orchard kiosk. The Golden Orchard has been operating for 40 years and has been a source of organic food for the past 20 of those years. Murry says that it is not only a business, but a passion, and like everyone we spoke to at the market he is proud to be a part of the St Lawrence Market.
