Nate Dogg

Nathaniel Dwayne Hale (August 19, 1969 – March 15, 2011), better known by his stage name Nate Dogg, was an American rapper, singer, and actor. He was known as one of the pioneers of West Coast hip hop. He was noted for his membership in rap trio 213 and his solo career in which he collaborated with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Warren G, Tupac Shakur, Westside Connection, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Ludacris, Xzibit, and Shade Sheist on many hit releases. He released three solo albums, G-Funk Classics, Vol. 1 & 2 in 1998, Music and Me in 2001, and Nate Dogg as a bootlegged album in 2003 and on CD in 2014.

Nate Dogg died in 2011 in Long Beach, California, of complications from multiple strokes.

Early life

Nathaniel Dwayne Hale was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi on August 19, 1969. He moved to Long Beach, California when he was 14 following his parents' divorce. He was friends with rappers Warren G, RBX, and Daz Dillinger and cousin of Butch Cassidy, Snoop Dogg, and Lil' ½ Dead. He began singing as a child in the New Hope Baptist Church in Long Beach and Life Line Baptist Church in Clarksdale, Mississippi where his father Daniel Lee Hale was pastor and his mother Ruth Holmes was leading the choir. At the age of 17 he dropped out of high school in Long Beach and left home to join the US Marine Corps, serving for three years. He was an Ammunition specialist.

Chrome Cats

Jamila Sims (Born February 20, 1997) and Korland "Kj" Sims (Born May 19, 1994) better known by their Stage name Chrome Cats, are an American brother-sister Hip Hop & Pop Duo.

Early life

Korland and Jamila were born and raised In Vallejo, California. They attended both Elementary and Middle school there. In 2009, the siblings later moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana where they currently reside. They are both of Kenyan American descent As their mother is from Kenya & Father is from Indiana. The siblings got in to music as a hobby in summer 2006 when their Mother suggested it as something they could do to pass time. They had both attended hip hop dance classes and were fond of hip hop music so It came easier to them to create their own. The duo stated positive vibes in their sound plays a big role in their lives and music, in an interview with radio station WNHT.

Music career

The duo gained a majority of their following through YouTube and caught the eye of Malaysian Independent label LakeFront Records in 2010. Chrome Cats signed with LakeFront Records in October 2010. Chrome Cats signing with LakeFront made them the first US musicians ever to be signed to a Malaysian label. In 2011, the duo was featured on Music Connection as one of the top 25 artist signed that year. Chrome Cats then released an EP titled 'Rise' in January 2011 which was featured on Delta and Continental's in-flight entertainment. In August 2012, Chrome Cats were featured on the Billboard charts Indicator Highlights for 3 weeks straight for their single "DNA of A Winner". "DNA of A Winner" charted at number 42 on the Billboard Charts. On November 4, 2013, the duo released the video for their single "Best Life". In late January 2014, the song charted at number 36 on the Billboard Charts. On January 22, 2015, the duo premiered the music video for their single "Worth it" on Vevo.

Foster the People

Foster the People is an American indie pop band formed in Los Angeles in 2009. The group is composed of Mark Foster (vocals, keyboards, piano, synthesizers, guitar, programming, percussion) and Mark Pontius (drums, percussion). The group's music, described as melodic dance-infused pop and rock, spans many genres.

Foster founded the band in 2009 after spending several years in Los Angeles as a struggling musician and working as a commercial jingle writer. After Foster's song "Pumped Up Kicks" became a viral success in 2010, the group received a record deal from Startime International and gained a fanbase through small club shows and appearances at music festivals. After releasing their debut album Torches in May 2011, "Pumped Up Kicks" became a crossover hit on commercial radio in mid-2011 and eventually reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100. The record also produced the popular singles "Helena Beat" and "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls)". The group received two Grammy Award nominations for Torches and "Pumped Up Kicks".

Warren G

Warren Griffin III (born November 10, 1970), better known by his stage name Warren G, is an American West Coast rapper and hip hop producer.

Career

From June to September 2013, Warren G toured on the West Coast Fest tour.

On July 13, 2015, Warren G released the first single "My House" for his upcoming EP "Regulate.. G Funk Era, Pt. II" which also features Nate Dogg. The EP was released on August 6, 2015.

Personal life

Warren G is the step-brother of rapper and producer Dr. Dre, who brought him into the rap scene. The Mayor of Long Beach, California dedicated the week of August 1 to 6, 2005 as the "Warren G Week," because he donated time to the community.
