Mark Anthony McDermott (born October 26, 1961), better known by his professional name of Dylan McDermott, is an American actor, known for his role as lawyer and law firm head Bobby Donnell on the television legal drama The Practice which earned him a Golden Globe and an Emmy nomination and his role in the series American Horror Story as Dr. Ben Harmon. He also starred in the TNT series Dark Blue as Lt. Carter Shaw.
McDermott was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, the son of Diane (née Marino) and Richard McDermott. His mother was fifteen and his father was seventeen when he was born. By 1967, the couple had divorced, and Diane and her children were living with her mother. On February 9, 1967, his mother was accidentally shot and killed with her boyfriend's gun; McDermott was five. Her boyfriend reported to newspapers at the time that she picked up his gun and it went off. He and his sister, Robin, then began to be raised by their maternal grandmother, Avis (Rogers) Marino, in Waterbury. His father was of Irish descent and his mother was of Italian and English ancestry.
Constance "Connie" Britton (née Womack) (born March 6, 1967) is an American actress. She is best known for the roles of Nikki Faber on the ABC sitcom Spin City (1996-2000), Tami Taylor on the NBC/DirecTV critical success sports drama Friday Night Lights (2006-2011), for which she was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, and as Vivien Harmon in the FX horror-drama series American Horror Story (2011). Her most notable films are Friday Night Lights and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Britton was born Constance Womack in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Linda and Allen Womack, who was a physicist. When she was seven years old, she moved with her parents and twin sister Cynthia to Lynchburg, Virginia where she attended E.C. Glass High School. She majored in Asian studies at Dartmouth College. After graduating in 1989, she moved to New York City, where she spent two years at the Neighborhood Playhouse studying with Sanford Meisner. Britton uses her married name as her stage name, though she is now divorced from her husband John Britton.[citation needed] In November 2011, she adopted a son, Eyob "Yoby" Britton, from Ethiopia.
Taissa Farmiga ( /fɑrˈmiːɡə/; born August 17, 1994) is an American actress, best known for her roles as Violet Harmon in the FX television series American Horror Story and young Corinne in the film Higher Ground.
Farmiga initially had no ambitions to become an actress, but was persuaded to appear in sister Vera Farmiga's directing debut, Higher Ground, playing the 16-year-old version of her sister's character. After her performance in the film was acclaimed at the Sundance Film Festival, she decided to pursue an acting career.
Farmiga appeared as Violet Harmon in the FX television series American Horror Story. In 2012, she joined the cast of Sofia Coppola's Bling Ring, as well as the indie Jamesy Boy.
Farmiga is the youngest of seven children, the daughter of Ukrainian immigrants Mykhailo, a computer-systems analyst, and Ljuba Farmiga, a schoolteacher. Her older sister is Oscar-nominated actress Vera Farmiga. She was born and raised in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. She attended public school until the fourth grade when she began homeschooling. Farmiga speaks fluent Ukrainian.
