St Brides (Welsh: Sain Ffraid) is a small coastal village in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. It lies at the south of St Brides Bay, about one and a half miles north of the larger village of Marloes with which it forms the Marloes and St. Brides community council.
The village lies within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and is on the route of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
Buildings include a small Norman parish church and St Bride's Castle, a 19th-century baronial-style country house which later became a sanatorium called Kensington Hospital and has now been converted into holiday accommodation. The castle underwent extensive renovation by current owners the Holiday Property Bond. The latter is a grade II* listed building
Scouting in Pembrokeshire have a campsite in the village; it is used by Scouting and Girl Guiding groups both locally and nationally.
"Atlantic" director Richard O'Donnell has some sneak preview scenes from recent recordings in St. Brides in Newfoundland. There Richard spent time fishing and examining how the locals manage their precious resources.
Christopher Wren's famous 'wedding cake' steeple is being restored. Londonist editor Matt Brown and London Historian Mike Paterson climbed all the way to the top to see the repairs...and the incredible views. Video by Geoff Marshall.
Malcolm Riley plays Percy Whitlock's Fanfare (written for the band of the Bournemouth Home Guard and incorporating the opening theme of his earlier March 'Dignity and Impudence') on the 1957 Compton pipe organ in the church of Saint Bride, Fleet Street, London [particularly showing off its wonderful French Horn stop]. This large instrument (four manuals and pedals, five manual divisions, 91 speaking stops) is contained entirely in chambers in and alongside the church's famous West tower. Aside from the Fanfare Trumpet, the Pedal Bass Cornet 32ft (which substitutes for a 32ft reed) and the Positive division, the whole instrument is enclosed in four expression boxes (Pedal/Great, Choir, Swell and Solo). It was the gift of Lord Astor, who was not keen to see the church equipped with a Compton...

http://joolzguides.com Please Subscribe! St Bride's church off Fleet Street was built in 1672 by Sr Christopher Wren and is the tallest of his churches excluding St Paul's. It was actually the inspiration for a pastry chef called William Rich, who had his bakery on Ludgate Hill, to design the first tiered wedding cake. The Old Bell Pub was built especially for those workmen building the church and appears in a famous almanac of the day called Epicure's Almanac, a bit like a restaurant guide. Just around the corner is Salisbury Square where Frederick Duke of York, second son of King George lll burned 10 000 copies of his ex-lover's memoirs. Mary Anne Clark was upset that she was unceremoniously dumped without so much as a town house to show for it, so she disclosed all the steamy tales ...

Despite the United Nation's eventual intervention, most of Liberia's young people continue to live in abject poverty, surrounded by filth, drug addiction, and teenage prostitution. The former child soldiers who were forced into war have been left to fend for themselves, the murderous warlords who once led them in cannibalistic rampages have taken up as so-called community leaders, and new militias are lying in wait for the opportunity to reclaim their country from a government they rightly mistrust. A hundred eyes are looking at me
'Cuz I don't fit the box they know
I'm cool, just being all I can be
When they try to stop me, I just go, go, go
So what, if I wanna have fun?
So what, if I walk and they run?
So what, if I wanna be number one?
So what, if I'm talking too loud?
I'm not afraid of standing out
So what, if I wanna flip the script around?
So what
No one can tell you who you really are
Nobody else can take the wheel for you
'Cuz everybody is their own star
And a girl has gotta do what she's gotta do
So what, if I wanna have fun?
So what, if I walk and they run?
So what, if I wanna be number one?
So what, if I'm talking too loud?
I'm not afraid of standing out
So what, if I wanna flip the script around?
So what
Everyone's perfect when you believe it
Don't try to change what you see
So what, if I wanna have fun?
So what, if I walk and they run?
So what, if I wanna be number one?
So what, if I'm talking too loud?
I'm not afraid of standing out
So what, if I wanna flip the script around?
So what, yeah
