Andrew Lloyd

Andrew Lloyd (born 14 February 1959) is best known for coming from behind in the last lap to take the 5000m gold medal in the 1990 Auckland Commonwealth Games.

Lloyd was born in Colchester, Essex, England. He represented Australia at the 1988 Summer Olympics and 1985 and 1989 IAAF World Cross Country Championships. He won many prestigious Australian road races in the 1980s and 1990s including the 1983, 1984, 1986 and 1993 City to Surfs, the 1979, 1980 and 1981 Melbourne Marathons (2:26:44, 2:17:37 and 2:19:03 respectively) and the 1980 Gold Coast Marathon (2:23:02).

Lloyd, who's performances in big events had come under question, won a dramatic 5000 metres final at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland's Mount Smart Stadium in 1990. Running third coming into the final bend, Lloyd passed Welshman Ian Hamer and set out after the leader, the reigning Olympic Games 5000 metres champion John Ngugi from Kenya. Ngugi was tiring and with about 5 metres to go Lloyd powered past to win in a time of 13:24.86, just 0.08 in front of the Olympic champion.

Andrea Ross

Andrea Christine Ross (born April 8, 1991) is an American singer and actress. She has been an award-winning lead actress on stage in her local area of Boston, Massachusetts since the age of eight years. At age 13 she was discovered by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who decided to champion her career and launch her as his protégée with a debut CD recording in 2007.

Biography

Andrea Ross was born in Dover, New Hampshire, the daughter of William and Paula. In elementary school she took a variety of lessons in music, dance and also played sports, but it was enrollment at Franklin School for the Performing Arts that won out. Ross progressed quickly from ensemble roles to lead musical theater roles on-stage. Encouraged by her enthusiasm, her parents allowed her to travel to Boston to audition for a professional family theater. She won the lead role in "Tuck Everlasting" at the Wheelock Family Theater at age 10. This was the beginning of a five-year continuous string of winning lead roles and critical praise from the Boston-area press and theater community. Her middle and elementary school educations occurred at the Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School (B.F.C.C.P.S.) and the Davis Thayer School respectively, both located in Franklin, Massachusetts. She graduated in 2009 from Noble and Greenough School, in Dedham, Massachusetts and currently attends Pace University.
