Devo Donates “Whip It” Royalties to Free Tigers From Circuses

Devo have donated proceeds of the sale from their single "Whip It" to a PETA run campaign to free Tigers and other large cats from Circuses. Although the specific terms of the donation were not disclosed, it appears to have been a substantial one-time payment that has already occurred. In a press release, Devo stated:

"As Ringling Bros. relies on the fear of whips to force lions and tigers to perform, Devo is pleased to make a grant to PETA from the royalties of 'Whip It' for their campaign to free big cats from this abuse. We hope that all circuses will continue to evolve by spotlighting human creativity rather than degrading animals."

Mischief Brew

Mischief Brew to re-release 'Smash the Windows'

Mischief Brew have announced that they are going to re-release their first album, 2005's Smash the Windows. The re-release will be out March 22 via the band's own Fistolo Records. The re-release was remastered from the original analog tapes. A digital download will be included featuring two unreleased bonus tracks: an outtake called "Bag Of Pepper" and an alternate mix of "The Lowly Carpenter." The band released the compilation Bacchanal ‘N’ Philadelphia earlier this year. They released their latest LP This is Not for Children in 2015.

Dead Broke Records announces Wild Fest

Dead Broke Records have announced a benefit show for the family of Robert Mcallister of Iron Chic / Capital and Secret Society. The two day festival is called "Wild Fest" and it will be held at the Amityville Music Hall in Amityville, NY on May 20th and 21st. Mind Over Matter, Capital, Incendiary, Thieves and Assasins, Take My Chances, Crime In Stereo, Iron Chic, After The Fall and many more is set to perform the festival. Tickets will be on sale on Monday.
