I’m Edd Baldry, a multi-disciplined digital project manager.
After living in London and Paris I’m now enjoying the sunshine in Bristol. I’ve worked for a whole number of awesome people including the United Nations, Campaign against the Arms Trade, Panos London and CLIC Sargent.
Working again with On the Record and the Campaign Against the Arms Trade we produced a website for the hundred year anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War. The site acted as a resource for the research the two organisations had undertaken about the arms trade before and during the war. I project managed the iterative development of the site from design to delivery, implemeenting a modular content builder that allowed us to use the richness of the material, from illustrations, photos and quotes, to allow as immersive an experience as possible. The website can be visited at http://armingallsides.org.uk.
I worked with community interest company On the Record to develop their Sounds from the Park project. The worked encompassed an exhibition at the Bishopsgate Institute, along with a complimentary website and booklet for people to discover further information about the unique atmosphere at Speakers’ Corner. The exhibition was exhibited at the Bishopsgate Institute between November 2013 – April 2014.
On the Record is a small, not for profit co-operative, who seek to uncover untold stories. I was asked by them to develop their web presence, branding and identity. I worked collaboratively with them to develop their identity around the idea of amplifying voices and ensuring that the focus was on the participants rather than the organisation.
I was asked to develop the branding, and design of an app, for a new French company aiming to make buying products more secure both for the customer and vendor. The identity was created around a playful twist on Sherlock Holmes, and the French idea of “Le gentleman”. Based on user stories, and personas, that we developed in collaboration I developed a clear and clean app user-interface. The app was released in early 2014, but is unfortunately no longer available.
Panos London was an international development organisation based in the UK. Taking an agile apporach, I project managed the re-development of their website to make content clearer to access, easier to update and allow greater participation from different members of the Panos team. As part of the project we developed personas, user stories and collaborative documents to ensure the project was as user centred as possible. I project managed the development with Lumpy Lemon, juggling over 10,000 different files and ensured that the project was delivered according to plan. A number of rounds of user acceptance testing was undertaken to ensure different collaborators could give their opinion on the work. Unfortunately Panos London closed in December 2012. I was asked to design the legacy website, and ensure an archive version of the website remained in place.
Over the previous three years I have worked with the UNISDR on a number of projects including rebranding a series of websites and publications for them to update their look and feel, as well as to make them more usable for their website – and publication – users.
