AN AMATEUR scientist can shockingly take back-to-back bites from the world’s deadliest snakes on purpose and claims to be making himself immune from their venom. Divorced Tim Friede, 37, has self-inflicted more than 160 bites in 16 years of research and is hoping his experiments will help to develop a human vaccine for snake bites.To prove his self-immunisation theory works, Tim from Wisconsin, USA, recently took back-to-back bites from two of the world’s deadliest snakes – a taipan and a black mamba whose bite can kill in minutes. Unsurprisingly, his obsession with saving the tens of thousands of lives lost every year to snakebites has nearly killed him on a number of occasions and also cost him his marriage. His wife Beth Friede, 35, divorced him in October after 20 years together when she finally had enough of Tim’s snake obsession. Despite the controversial nature of his experiments Tim does have some backing from the scientific community. Dr Brian Hanley, a PhD Microbiologist from the University of California, says a test suggests Tim now has twice the number of antibodies and hopes his company Butterfly Sciences will help him develop his vaccine and find investors to get it into the field.

From coast to coast across the United States and all over the world, American Alligators are becoming increasingly popular in the pet trade and while Coyote himself loves Alligators he is always the first one to say that owning them as pets is NEVER a good idea.
To demonstrate why, he has volunteered himself to show the damage that just a two year old juvenile can inflict upon an unwary pet owner…and let’s just say, it’s not pretty!
So don’t let the adorable squeaking hatchings in the fish tank fool you…they will eventually grow up to become large formidable predators not suitable for indoor companions. Due to this reality, it is unfortunately the case that many of these pet Alligators end up abandoned or neglected because their owners can no longer care for them properly…which is a very sad situation for both the pet owners and animals alike.

There are many creatures in the animal kingdom that are venomous, but not all venom is created equal. Some stings and bites may feel like simple irritants, inconsequential, you would barely even feel them. On the other hand, there are bites and stings that can induce mind numbing and potentially incapacitating pain that is so painful, most people lack an adequate way of describing the experience. The good news is, for the most part, the bites on this list are not normally fatal (even though though the pain may feel like it's fatal). Nevertheless, some of these creatures can attack in masses and as such potentially kill their victim. If you are out and about and you come into contact with one of these creatures, your best bet is to leave them alone. Seriously! Run! Flee! Stay as far as you can, because these stings are what your worst nightmares are made of. Just to give you an idea, some of these bites and stings have been described as bullet wounds, hot screwdrivers being drilled into a person's leg, and a host of other similar disturbing sensations. So familiarize yourself with these critters (and avoid them)!

5. Red Harvester Ant
Red harvester ants are adorably industrious, foraging for seeds on the forest floor and hoarding them in underground larders. However, they can be downright aggressive when defending their stash. Their sting ranks alongside paper wasps in intensity and is “bold and unrelenting, like somebody using a drill to excavate your ingrown toenail,”
4. Amazon Giant Centipede
These carnivorous centipedes, which can grow up to a foot long, need a potent bite to kill large prey like mice and bats. Centipede bites produce a burning pain that hurts for a long time. People are usually whining and limping around a good 12 hours later.
3. Paper Wasp
Paper wasps are 0.7 to 1.0 inch (1.8 to 2.5 cm) long wasps that gather fibers from dead wood and plant stems, which they mix with saliva, and use to construct water-resistant nests made of gray or brown papery material. When you get stung it has a distinctly bitter aftertaste, like spilling a beaker of hydrochloric acid on a paper cut.

It is the world's largest hornet, native to temperate and tropical Eastern Asia. Each year in Japan, the human death toll caused by Asian giant hornet stings is around 30 to 40. Its stinger injects an especially potent venom that contains--like many bee and wasp venoms--a cytolytic peptide that can badly damage tissue. They are also known to chase after people in groups. It inhabits humid lowland rainforests from Nicaragua and the extreme east of Honduras south to Paraguay. A bite is a wound received from the mouth (and in particular, the teeth) of an animal, including humans. Self inflicted bites occur in some genetic illnesses such as Lesch-Nyhan syndrome. A person bitten by an animal potentially carrying parvovirus or rabies virus should consult a medical doctor immediately. A bite victim may also incur serious bacterial infections of the bone called osteomyelitis which can become life threatening if untreated, whether or not the animal has parvovirus or rabies virus.
Bites are usually classified by the type of creature causing the wound. Many different creatures are known to bite humans.
Injuries from human bites present a particular risk to other humans, with a major risk of sepsis from infection by human oral ecology and the possibility of transmission of blood-borne diseases including, syphilis and hepatitis.

Divorced Tim Friede, 37, has self-inflicted more than 160 bites in 16 years of research and is hoping his experiments will help to develop a human vaccine for snake bites.To prove his self-immunisation theory works, Tim from Wisconsin, USA, recently took back-to-back bites from two of the world’s deadliest snakes – a taipan and a black mamba whose bite can kill in minutes. Unsurprisingly, his obsession with saving the tens of thousands of lives lost every year to snakebites has nearly killed him on a number of occasions and also cost him his marriage. His wife Beth Friede, 35, divorced him in October after 20 years together when she finally had enough of Tim’s snake obsession. Despite the controversial nature of his experiments Tim does have some backing from the scientific community. Dr Brian Hanley, a PhD Microbiologist from the University of California, says a test suggests Tim now has twice the number of antibodies and hopes his company Butterfly Sciences will help him develop his vaccine and find investors to get it into the field.

From coast to coast across the United States and all over the world, American Alligators are becoming increasingly popular in the pet trade and while Coyote himself loves Alligators he is always the first one to say that owning them as pets is NEVER a good idea.
To demonstrate why, he has volunteered himself to show the damage that just a two year old juvenile can inflict upon an unwary pet owner…and let’s just say, it’s not pretty!
So don’t let the adorable squeaking hatchings in the fish tank fool you…they will eventually grow up to become large formidable predators not suitable for indoor companions. Due to this reality, it is unfortunately the case that many of these pet Alligators end up abandoned or neglected because their owners can no longer care for them properly…which is a very sad situation for both the pet owners and animals alike.

On the other hand, there are bites and stings that can induce mind numbing and potentially incapacitating pain that is so painful, most people lack an adequate way of describing the experience. There are many creatures in the animal kingdom that are venomous, but not all venom is created equal. Some stings and bites may feel like simple irritants, inconsequential, you would barely even feel them. On the other hand, there are bites and stings that can induce mind numbing and potentially incapacitating pain that is so painful, most people lack an adequate way of describing the experience. The good news is, for the most part, the bites on this list are not normally fatal (even though though the pain may feel like it's fatal). Nevertheless, some of these creatures can attack in masses and as such potentially kill their victim. If you are out and about and you come into contact with one of these creatures, your best bet is to leave them alone. Seriously! Run! Flee! Stay as far as you can, because these stings are what your worst nightmares are made of. Just to give you an idea, some of these bites and stings have been described as bullet wounds, hot screwdrivers being drilled into a person's leg, and a host of other similar disturbing sensations. So familiarize yourself with these critters (and avoid them)!

Red harvester ants are adorably industrious, foraging for seeds on the forest floor and hoarding them in underground larders. However, they can be downright aggressive when defending their stash. Their sting ranks alongside paper wasps in intensity and is “bold and unrelenting, like somebody using a drill to excavate your ingrown toenail,”
4. Amazon Giant Centipede
These carnivorous centipedes, which can grow up to a foot long, need a potent bite to kill large prey like mice and bats. Centipede bites produce a burning pain that hurts for a long time. People are usually whining and limping around a good 12 hours later.
3. Paper Wasp
Paper wasps are 0.7 to 1.0 inch (1.8 to 2.5 cm) long wasps that gather fibers from dead wood and plant stems, which they mix with saliva, and use to construct water-resistant nests made of gray or brown papery material. When you get stung it has a distinctly bitter aftertaste, like spilling a beaker of hydrochloric acid on a paper cut.

It is the world's largest hornet, native to temperate and tropical Eastern Asia. Each year in Japan, the human death toll caused by Asian giant hornet stings is around 30 to 40. Its stinger injects an especially potent venom that contains--like many bee and wasp venoms--a cytolytic peptide that can badly damage tissue. They are also known to chase after people in groups. Two-year-old Mackenzi Plass, or Kenzi for short, from Texas is reportedly doing well after surviving a dog attack and resulting surgeries in March of this year.
"She'll be two and a half in May," her mother Chelsi Camp told WFLA. "She's doing great. You wouldn't know it if you couldn't see."
Mackenzi still has scars on her face from the attack, which forced her mother to fight off the animal and bite the canine's ear off.
Mother and daughter were dog sitting a pit bull at the end of March at the Avana at South Shore Apartments on E. League City Parkway. According to Camp, the dog had always seemed friendly, but snapped when it met her daughter, attacking the little girl. Camp reckons the dog may have smelled her own dog on her daughter.
To fight the dog off, Camp forced her fist into the dog's mouth, bit its ear off while also managing to call the police. An officer who arrived at the scene shot the dog once to stop the attack, but didn't kill it. The dog was euthanized later.
According to Camp, she comes from a family of dog lovers and still loves them, no matter what the breed.

Everyone at the pharmacy shuddered over the looks of my leg and couldn’t believe a spider had done so much damage. Several people commented that they had read or watched something on TV in the last year about the spider. They were scared by what they had learned and even more so after seeing my bite.
The rest of the day was spent sleeping fitfully and waking up to take the meds. No appetite. Pain. Fever reached 101. The excruciating shooting pains continued when I would first try to stand up and walk (with the help of a cane)."

Dogs are 20 times more likely than humans to be bitten by a venomous snake and 25 times more likely to die from a bite, according to the Animal Medical Center of Southern California. “A rattlesnake bite is likely a more serious concern for dogs because they’re so small,” said Brian Todd, a wildlife biologist at UC Davis. “It’s extremely rare for a human to be put in a life-threatening situation from a rattlesnake bite.”....
