Reimagine South Brisbane Policy Conference

For this year’s Brisbane City Council elections, we’re holding a policy conference to kick off a conversation about how community groups and ordinary residents can reassert their right to meaningful input and influence over the future development and governance of the city.

The conference aims to bring together the knowledge and experience of local residents and policy experts to think about how Brisbane can better serve the needs and interests of those of us who struggle to have our voices heard by the current political system.

Topics addressed by the conference will include:

  • development and housing affordability

  • traffic congestion, public transport and cycling

  • community governance and local decision-making

  • democracy and corporate political donations

  • needs and perspectives of First Nations peoples

  • public space, the urban commons and the right to the city

Reimagine South Brisbane is free and open to the public. Please register in advance to assist with catering and seating arrangements.
