Here's a driving tour of Burnaby and Vancouver BC Canada, sped up 8x and accompanied by the amazing music of Canadian musical artist, Colin Pombo.

The route:
Recorded at 8pm on May 10th 2011. I start at Kensington Shopping Plaza in Burnaby (on East Hastings Street), and drive West along Hastings all the way into Vancouver, through the Downtown Eastside and into the business district. I then turn left onto Burrard Street and drive south to Robson (famous shopping street) and then go along Robson all the way to Vancouver's west end, where I explore Denman Street down to Davie, and then back past Burrard again down to Granville.
The music:
The music is Perceptions and Sea of Tranquility by Colin Pombo. Thank you so much Colin and friends for the amazing music, I am so glad to feature it here. You guys rock!!
The camera:
I placed my Sony Cybershot DSC-HX7V on my dash using a mini-tripod which I got from London Drugs. I then recorded the drive in 17 megabits per second 1080i (60i) using manual white balance that I calibrated to a 18% Grey Card. I then imported the video into Windows Live Movie Maker, sped up the clips 8x and then added Colin's great music. I really like my Sony HX7V, which is the latest camera from Sony that just came out last month. It is currently $349 at London Drugs, a little point and shoot camera. As you can see the quality is really great - so much improved over last years models.

Hit and Run @ Crystal Mall !!
While walking to Crystal Mall, I saw a crowd on one of those island in between the street and where cars turn right. As a got to the crowd, a old Chinese lady was on the ground bleeding from her nose and head. She was also bruised and knees were also cut. Then I noticed a older lady with this pimped up scooter trying to leave the scene. People were telling her to not leave but drove off. Afterwards, the witnesses told me that while they were waiting for the light, the lady in this pimped scooter crashed into the older lady from behind and knocked down and she did a full face plant on to the street.
Please help identify this lady or the scooter that she was driving.

Burnaby is a city in British Columbia, Canada, located immediately to the east of Vancouver. It is the third-largest city in British Columbia by population, surpassed only by nearby Surrey and Vancouver.
It was incorporated in 1892 and achieved City status in 1992, one hundred years after incorporation. It is the seat of the Greater Vancouver Regional District's government, the board of which calls itself Metro Vancouver.
At incorporation, the municipality's citizens unanimously chose to name it after legislator, speaker, Freemason and explorer, Robert Burnaby, who had been private secretary to Colonel Richard Moody, the Colony of British Columbia's first land commissioner in the mid-19th century. In 1859, Mr. Burnaby had surveyed the freshwater lake near what is now the city's geographical centre; Moody chose to name it Burnaby Lake.
In the first 30 to 40 years after its incorporation, the growth of Burnaby was influenced by its location between expanding urban centres of Vancouver and New Westminster. It first served as a rural agricultural area supplying nearby markets. Later, it served as an important transportation corridor between Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and the Interior and continues to do so. As Vancouver expanded and became a metropolis, it was one of the first-tier bedroom community suburbs of Vancouver itself, along with North Vancouver and Richmond. Burnaby is now a mature, integrated community, which is centrally located within a rapidly growing metropolitan area. Burnaby's characteristic has shifted over time from rural to suburban, to urban.

Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill, KG, OM, CH, TD, PC, DL, FRS, Hon. Hit and Run @ Crystal Mall !! While walking to Crystal Mall, I saw a crowd on one of those island in between the street and where cars turn right. As a got to the crowd, a old Chinese lady was on the ground bleeding from her nose and head. She was also bruised and knees were also cut. Then I noticed a older lady with this pimped up scooter trying to leave the scene. People were telling her to not leave but drove off. Afterwards, the witnesses told me that while they were waiting for the light, the lady in this pimped scooter crashed into the older lady from behind and knocked down and she did a full face plant on to the street. Please help identify this lady or the scooter that she was driving. -

The camera:
I placed my Sony Cybershot DSC-HX7V on my dash using a mini-tripod which I got from London Drugs. I then recorded the drive in 17 megabits per second 1080i (60i) using manual white balance that I calibrated to a 18% Grey Card. I then imported the video into Windows Live Movie Maker, sped up the clips 8x and then added Colin's great music. I really like my Sony HX7V, which is the latest camera from Sony that just came out last month. It is currently $349 at London Drugs, a little point and shoot camera. As you can see the quality is really great - so much improved over last years models.

While walking to Crystal Mall, I saw a crowd on one of those island in between the street and where cars turn right. As a got to the crowd, a old Chinese lady was on the ground bleeding from her nose and head. She was also bruised and knees were also cut. Then I noticed a older lady with this pimped up scooter trying to leave the scene. People were telling her to not leave but drove off. Afterwards, the witnesses told me that while they were waiting for the light, the lady in this pimped scooter crashed into the older lady from behind and knocked down and she did a full face plant on to the street.
Please help identify this lady or the scooter that she was driving.

Vancouver is consistently named as one of the top five worldwide cities for livability and quality of life. It's a coastal seaport city with a metropolitan population of over 2.5 million inhabitants, the third most populous in Canada.
Vancouver is one of the most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities in Canada. 52% of its residents have a first language other than English.
Vancouver is one of Canada's warmest cities in the winter. On average, snow falls on eleven days per year. It's also one of the wettest Canadian cities.
Vancouver is one of Canada's largest industrial centres. Port Metro Vancouver, is Canada's largest and most diversified. While forestry remains its largest industry, Vancouver is well known as an urban centre surrounded by nature, making tourism its second-largest industry. Each year over a million people pass through Vancouver on cruise ship vacations, often bound for Alaska.
Vancouver has one of the largest urban parks in North America, Stanley Park, a 1,001 acre public park that borders the downtown and is almost entirely surrounded by waters of Vancouver Harbour and English Bay. Vancouver has hosted many international conferences and events, including Expo 86, the 2010 Winter Olympics and 2010 Winter Paralympics. In 2014, following thirty years in California, the annual TED conference made Vancouver its indefinite home. Several matches of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup were played in Vancouver, including the final at BC Place Stadium.

It has a voracious appetite and has been known to attack waterbirds and even lunge out of the water to catch pets and terrestrial animals. Also shown is the Central Park Pool where a water sports game was being played.

In Toronto, the CN Tower is the highest freestanding building in the world and provides a thrilling view across the city. When the weather’s good it’s possible to see as far as 120 km. to the distant haze of Niagara Falls. The Skydome is located next to the CN Tower and is a multifunctional sports arena with enormous proportions that has an extendable dome under which many types of sports events and concerts take place. The main route of the Canadian Pacific Railroad that travels through western Canada dates back to1885 although the comforts offered by the famous train, The Canadian, are far from dated as for additional comfort there’s the Bullet Lounge, the Mural Lounge and the Art Deco Bar. The landscape opens up and in the autumn light dense forests and dark blue lakes create an enchanting scene with a wonderful variety of colours that range from ochre-yellow and dark red, to purple. Passing endless cargo trains we head to Winnipeg, the ‘City of Trees’ that lies at the mouth of both the Red River and the Assiniboine River. Containing over two million trees this former settlement is now Canada’s fourth largest city. The high peaks of the Rocky Mountains come into view, the former domain of gold-diggers, hunters and pioneers, where the city of Jasper is the starting point of many interesting excursions in the mountain area. It has always been very difficult for cyclists to travel north-south in Burnaby, as there has been no safe way to get past the highway. One way to travel north-south was to use the Sea to River bike route, but this was neither fun nor safe either, as I wrote in this post - https://averagejoecyclist.com/sea-to-river-bike-route-burnaby/
Another way was to use the Kensington overpass, but this was REALLY scary, with no bike route, fast-moving traffic, and motorists merging all over the place to access the highway.
Now, finally, there is a really decent route - SEPARATED! Cycling along this route yesterday, I felt safe on Kensington St for the first time ever.
