more at http://scitech.quickfound.net/aviation_news_and_search.html Promotional film for the McDonnell 188 STOL Transport aircraft, which was to be a license-built US version of the French Breguet 941 transport. Only five aircraft of this type were built. Public domain film, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and mild video noise reduction applied. Produced by McDonnell aircraft, this film served as an introduction to their newest jet, the F2H2, and details it's numerous improvements over the companies first jet fighter, the FH-1 Phantom. You'll get a walk-around of the aircraft and see her doing spectacular aerobatics. Then you'll get a look inside the McDonnell assembly line to see FH2 construction and inside a Westinghouse engine plant to see production and testing of her compact yet powerful J34 axial flow turbojets. Finally, you'll see her high and low speed performance capabilities, including mock carrier landings and outstanding single engine performance. I restored this video. Get this film plus two more on our "Screamin' Banshees: The McDonnell F2H Goes to War" DVD.Includes an F2H pilots' manual. http://bit.ly/11MfDyg
Made in the late 1970s, THE FABULOUS PHANTOM celebrates the completion of the 5000th F-4 Phantom. The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II is a tandem two-seat, twin-engine, all-weather, long-range supersonic jet interceptor aircraft/fighter-bomber originally developed for the United States Navy by McDonnell Aircraft. It first entered service in 1960 with the U.S. Navy. Proving highly adaptable, it was also adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force, and by the mid-1960s had become a major part of their respective air wings. The Phantom is a large fighter with a top speed of over Mach 2.2. It can carry more than 18,000 pounds (8,400 kg) of weapons on nine external hardpoints, including air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles, and various bombs. The F-4, like other interceptor...
Which of these planes do you like more? Write it in the comments. In addition to that please tell me which planes I should compare next. You decide !! This time you told me to compare the Tri-holers. Someone asked if I could throw in a few 727 clips but I thought the 727 is a little so small to compare it to the L1011, Md11 and Dc-10. The McDonnell Douglas DC-10 is a three-engine wide-body jet airliner manufactured by McDonnell Douglas. The DC-10 has range for medium- to long-haul flights, capable of carrying a maximum of 380 passengers. It had its first flight in 1970 and the first customer was American Airlines. Currently there are still lots of Dc-10`s (KC10`s) operating, especially for the US. Air Force. The McDonnell Douglas MD-11 is a three-engine medium- to long-range wide-body j...
