Speech disorders or speech impediments are a type of communication disorder where 'normal' speech is disrupted. This can mean stuttering, lisps, etc. Someone who is unable to speak due to a speech disorder is considered mute.
Classifying speech into normal and disordered is more problematic than it first seems. By a strict classification, only 5% to 10% of the population has a completely normal manner of speaking (with respect to all parameters) and healthy voice; all others suffer from one disorder or another.
There are three different levels of classification when determining the magnitude and type of a speech disorder and the proper treatment or therapy:

it's hard to catch the cluttering, i suggest watching without the annotations first, then again with the annotations:) here i am talking (i'm a clutterer). for more info on cluttering, please look it up in wikipedia or google. notice how i start saying something then change what i say in the middle, how i appear to be at a loss for words, and how i say and umm alot. also notice how it's hard to understand my point(s) because i go off in all directions (go off on tangents).

Recorded Nov 21, 2015 Hi Everyone, This is just a quick informative video about Shawn's speech disorder. I encouraged him to write down a few notes and create a video to let you all know how he feels about his disability so that he isn't afraid to have a few slip ups in the videos we post. He understands that there will always be people who are mean for no good reason, but more importantly, he just wanted to address the "nice people" to let you all know that he is uncomfortable--in hopes that you will send encouraging words. As always, thanks for watching!! Don't forget to LIKE (or DISLIKE), COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE! Love y'all! :-)
There are several differences between the two disorders, speech and language.
Hello. My name is Kyle. This video was actually meant to be used for purposes other then show casing a speech disorder known as cluttering, and for 27 years of my life, I sort of realized I might have a speech problems. It's very odd. My thoughts seem very clear as night and day when I am able to convert my thoughts in to words through writing, but not vocal speech. And I do not know why. I have been diagnosed with anxiety, depression, and schizoaffective disorder. And after watching videos where I am speaking and not trying to do a video skit, I realize my speech is all over the place! I always hated public speaking having anxiety disorder, and it is odd, when I talk to people I am comfortable and close to my speech seems, okay, but when I try to give a speech that dwells in to literature...
Providing parents with information on the Developmental Apraxia of Speech versus other Motor Speech Disorders. The co-occurrence of Autism and Apraxia is discussed. Part two in this video series is about PROMPT Therapy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIZpuEUjI9g www.funtotalk.ca
It may start with a simple word you can’t pronounce. Your tongue and lips stumble, and gibberish comes out. Misspeaking might draw a chuckle from family and friends. But, then, it keeps happening. Progressively, more and more speech is lost. Some patients eventually become mute from primary progressive apraxia of speech, a disorder related to degenerative neurologic disease. Two Mayo Clinic researchers have spent more than a decade uncovering clues to apraxia of speech. Keith Josephs, M.D., a neurologist, and Joseph R. Duffy, Ph.D., a speech pathologist, will present “My Words Come Out Wrong: When Thought and Language Are Disconnected from Speech” on Sunday, Feb. 14, at the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual meeting in Washington, D.C. In this video Dr. Duffy dis...

In addition, the book helps students see the connection between speech sound disorders and the related motor speech disorders that overlap and complicate assessment and treatment. Compelling online videos of children with speech sound disorders (supplemented with assignable exercises) bring concepts to life and connect classroom learning with real-life practic...

This video is personally about me, I don't really share my personal life with my youtube life but I had to make this video to show everyone of you that there are people who are very judgmental and I hate those people so much. But careless people won't realize it and they will just ignore it but I don't care because if you will do something than it will come back on you someday in the future. You also have to know the reason before you judge someone.
Jocelyn Lyon was diagnosed with apraxia of speech when she was three years old. Now, as a junior in high school at Seacrest Country Day School, she's discovered how much theater has helped her overcome the disorder.
"My body is the one thing that allows me physical life. So why create a war with it?… The world does not need us to be perfect, it just needs us to bring something beautifully unique, which is our genuine selves." Thank you to Reasons Eating Disorder Center for sponsoring #ShakeIt 2016, Santa Monica, and to Alyson for this meaningful perspective!
