Undefeated is an Oscar-winning 2011 documentary directed by Daniel Lindsay and T.J. Martin. The film documents the struggles of a high school football team, the Manassas Tigers of Memphis, as they attempt a winning season after years of losses. The team is turned around by coach Bill Courtney, who helps form a group of young men into an academic and athletic team.
The film received critical acclaim at the South by Southwest conference in March 2011. The Weinstein Company was reported to have closed a seven-figure deal for distribution and remake rights to Undefeated. On February 26, 2012, the movie won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
Sean "Diddy" Combs joined the film as an executive producer in early February, 2012, with plans to work with the Weinstein Co. on the remake.
Empty is your soul
Dirty like your world
My interior once you raped
With the poison of the snake
Why? Tell me why
Why? Tell me why
You're so beautiful
So filthy and so cold
Your exterior is so great
But inside you are a fake
Why? Tell me why
Why? Tell me why
I lived the dream all alone
You were never there for me
You broke down my wings
You stole all my dreams
The angel is crying
Inside my heart is broke again
The angel is crying
My mind will never felt again
The angel is crying
Inside my heart I will never love again
I will never love again
I lived the dream all alone
You were never there for me
You're no longer a part of me
But no matter how hard I try
This pain won't go away
