This video is me, raw, unedited footage of birth to my baby boy Noah, who was born asleep on May the 7th 2015.
Don't watch it if you don't want to see the content. For me it's keeping my sons memory alive, showing he really was here, he was my baby.

I was heavily medicated, so I apologise for my stupidity.
Once I reached 8cm I finally had pain relief uncommonly used in labour as it would usually pass to the baby 'morphine'. I probably would have gone without if I knew how blurry my memory would have been that day, that's another reason I'm glad to have this video.
Two days before I gave birth I found out the news, Noah would never talk, cry,run or ever cuddle me back.
For two days I Google stillborn labour to find a video. To no avail. Now maybe this will help someone who is going to go through this and to show others it's nothing like the new soap drama portals it for extra views!

Thank you all for watching the film and for your comments. I am delighted to report that the film has already been used in a training scenario. A team of 35 student midwives watched the film last week in one of their first lectures as part of a days training about bereavement, and then spent the whole day discussing the film. With your help hopefully every midwife in the UK will see this film.
Some won't approve of it, some won't agree with the contents (which are all factually true) and some won't want to learn from it and become better midwives.
The vast majority however will take something away from this film and may even seek further bereavement training. One way or another though this film will make a difference as everyone who sees it will adapt their behaviour, many without realising that they are doing it. So please share the link with other mums and ask them to show it to their midwife.
Lets start to make some noise about stillbirth and neo-natal death and no longer feel ashamed to talk about our children. Lets also help our friends and family's understand how we feel, and make them understand that it is ok to talk about our baby, also for them to realise that time won't heal our broken hearts or that by having another child everything will be ok because it won't.

Larry and Stephanie Ralph lost our precious daughter, Sydney Faye Ralph, on September 18th, 2009.
At a routine ultrasound 10 days before Sydney's due date, we found out our babys heart beat had stopped. That evening, Steph was induced into labor and the next morning, our baby girl was born sleeping. This video shows our journey.

This is a video compilation of our journey through the life of our daughter Landry Elizabeth Donlon. From the pregnancy announcement, to the day of her stillbirth, to the packing away of her nursery, we want to share with you the happiness and excitement of the preparation, to the shock, sorrow, and grief of losing her to stillbirth. We are coming up on her 1 year angelversary, and in her memory and to honor her, we would like to raise enough money to donate at least one CuddleCot to at least one local hospital. We would love it if every hospital, everywhere, had at least one.
CuddleCots are cooling systems that allow families of children who are stillborn or lost after birth to spend more time with their loved one after they are gone. CuddleCots keep the infants at a temperature that delays the body's natural process oafter death so that the family members may spend time with their child without the worry of rememberling them "like that."
Currently no US hospital offers CuddleCots, while they are widely used in Europe and Australia. We want to use the memory and legacy of our beautiful daughter to bring the gift of TIME to the US, to American families dealing with the loss of a child, by bringing CuddleCots here.
When your child is spiritually departed from their body, but that body is all you have to hold on to, and you know that even then you only have a couple of hours to hold them before you tell that physicial body goodbye forever, TIME is the absolute greatest gift anyone could give you.

A stillbirth occurs when a fetus has died in the uterus. A wide variety of definitions exist. Once the fetus has died, the mother may or may not have contractions and undergo childbirth. The term is often used in distinction to live birth or miscarriage and the word miscarriage is oftentimes used incorrectly to describe stillbirths. Most stillbirths occur in full-term pregnancies.
The causes of a large percentage of human stillbirths remain unknown, even in cases where extensive testing and autopsy have been performed. A rarely used term to describe these is sudden antenatal death syndrome or SADS, a phrase coined by Cacciatore & Collins in 2000.
In cases where the cause is known, some possibilities of the cause of death are:
Sometimes a pregnancy is terminated deliberately during a late phase, for example for congenital anomaly. UK law requires these procedures to be registered as "stillbirths".

Alice Glass born in 1988 is the lead vocalist and lyricist of Crystal Castles.
Alice Glass was born in 1988 in Toronto, Ontario. At the age of 14 she ran away to live in a squat community of punks, yet continued going to school and also started an all-girl crust-noise band Fetus Fatale. After going to a Fetus Fatale show, Ethan Kath, impressed by her performance, gave her CD-Rs with 60 instrumental tracks of which she chose 5 to write vocals for. Alice Glass and Ethan Kath went to a recording studio to record the 5 songs and unknown to the band, the microphone check before the session was secretly recorded by the engineer, who later presented the band with a CD-R with 6 tracks. This 6th extra track was discovered by London UK's Merok Records who went on to release the track as the band's first vinyl single, "Alice Practice", despite Glass not knowing the track existed or what it sounded like, and named for the fact Alice was literally just practicing while the engineer set his levels.
In 2008, before the band's interview with Now Magazine, Alice disappeared and neither Ethan nor the band's manager could contact her. Crystal Castles was infamously shut down at Glastonbury 2008 after Glass climbed a speaker stand just before "Alice Practice" and was swallowed by the crowd during "Yes No".

At a routine ultrasound 10 days before Sydney's due date, we found out our babys heart beat had stopped. Katito Sayialel, Amboseli Research Assistant writes on 17 May: Early this morning Graeme [Shannon] and I were looking for family groups in the east of Amboseli National Park for our playback experiments. We sighted the LB family moving quickly towards a small group 250 m distant. We drove to the family (which turned out to be the HB group) and I immediately noticed that they were bunched together in a distinctive formation, which is a good indication that there may have been a recent birth. Graeme and I were very excited that this could be the first birth of 2011, and we drove in to get a closer look. Sadly, I noticed that the calf was lying flat on the ground and not moving. CuddleCots are cooling systems that allow families of children who are stillborn or lost after birth to spend more time with their loved one after they are gone. Katito Sayialel, Amboseli Research Assistant writes on 17 May: Early this morning Graeme [Shannon] and I were looking for family groups in the east of Amboseli National Park for our playback experiments. We sighted the LB family moving quickly towards a small group 250 m distant. We drove to the family (which turned out to be the HB group) and I immediately noticed that they were bunched together in a distinctive formation, which is a good indication that there may have been a recent birth.
Graeme and I were very excited that this could be the first birth of 2011, and we drove in to get a closer look. Sadly, I noticed that the calf was lying flat on the ground and not moving. It then became clear that it was still-born, and the mother (Hollie - 28 years old) was gently nudging the calf with her back leg to determine if it was alive. At this time the LB family arrived and chased Hollie and the other members of the family some 50 m away from the dead calf. Leana, the matriarch of the LB family is 46 years old, while Hope, the matriarch of the HB family is only 31 years old, and as a result Leana is likely to be dominant.
Hollie continued to try and approach her calf, but she was repeatedly chased away by Leana and other members of the LB family. After nearly an hour, Leana moved away from the dead calf and Hollie was able to return with her two daughters, Hub (11 years old) and Hibiscius (4 years old), and another young female, HardDrive (11 years old).
We stayed close by to observe their behaviour as Hollie continued to rumble softly and rock the calf with her front foot. Hub meanwhile was digging around the dead calf, constantly trying to remove the birth sac from the body with her tusk.
I was able to see that the calf was male. He appeared to be almost the size we would expect at birth and therefore may have been only a month or two from reaching full term.
After 2 hours we spotted a hyena moving in the grass very close to Hollie and the others.
We left after 2.5 hours, and the mother continued to stand over her calf. A sad sight, but a natural event nonetheless.
