Klaus Kinski (born Klaus Günter Karl Nakszynski; 18 October 1926 – 23 November 1991) was a German actor. He appeared in more than 130 films, and was a leading role actor in the films of Werner Herzog, including Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972), Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979), Woyzeck (1979), Fitzcarraldo (1982), and Cobra Verde (1987). He was considered a controversial figure in Germany. Some of his violent outbursts on set were filmed in Herzog's documentary My Best Fiend.
He is the father of Pola, Nastassja, and Nikolai Kinski, born of three different marriages. They have all become actors and have worked in Germany and the United States, primarily in film and TV.
Klaus Kinski was born to German nationals in Zoppot in what was from 1920–1939, under League of Nations supervision, the Free City of Danzig. (It is now Sopot, Poland.) His father, Bruno Nakszynski, a German of Polish descent, was a failed opera singer turned pharmacist; his mother, Susanne (née Lutze), was a nurse and the daughter of a local pastor. Klaus had three older siblings: Inge, Arne and Hans-Joachim.

"Was????? Erst um 19.30??? - Dann kann ich ja wieder zurück ins Hotel fahren!!!" Und er verschwand mit seinem Begleiter aus dem Studio. Ich ging zum Thomas und sagte ihm, dass ich keine Ahnung hätte, ob Klaus Kinski überhaupt wieder zurück käme." Er kam zurück - und war in Hochform! :-)
Klaus Kinski zu Gast in der Sendung 'Tele Illustrierte'. Dieser Auftritt war Teil seiner fulminanten 1985er Promotion Tour für 'Kommando Leopard'.
This piece of video already exists on Youtube, but those do not include English subtitles. As there are many non Germans out there who would like to know what the hell they are talking about I uploaded this. The video is taken from Werner Herzog's documentary "My Best Fiend". This particular argument took place on the set of Fitzcarraldo.
at a press conference during the 1988 Cannes Film Festival.

Werner Herzog's “Aguirre, the Wrath of God” (1973) is one of the great haunting visions of the cinema. It tells the story of the doomed expedition of the conquistador Gonzalo Pizarro, who in 1560 and 1561 led a body of men into the Peruvian rain forest, lured by stories of the lost city. When Pizarro fears that his expedition is a folly, he selects a small party to spend a week exploring farther up-river. If they find nothing, he says, the attempt will be abandoned. This smaller party is led by the aristocrat Don Pedro de Ursua, with Aguirre (Kinski) as his second in command. Also in the party, along with soldiers and slaves, are a priest, Gaspar de Carvajal; the fatuous nobleman Fernando de Guzman; Ursua’s wife, Flores; Aguirre’s daughter Inez, and a black slave named Okello, who sadly ...

Spaghetti Western, also known as Italian Western, is a broad sub-genre of Western films that emerged in the mid-1960s in the wake of Sergio Leone's film-making style and international box-office success. It was used by critics in USA and other countries because most of these Westerns were produced and directed by Italians. According to actor Aldo Sambrell, the phrase 'Spaghetti Western' was originally created by Italian journalist Alfonso Sancha[1]. In the beginning the term was used in a derogatory sense, but over time it has become accepted as descriptive. The denomination for these films in Italy is western all'italiana (Italian-Style Western). Italo-Western is also used, especially in Germany. The term Eurowesterns may be used to also include Western movies that were produced in Europe...

Klaus Kinski is interviewed in a park about his "Jesus Christ" tour, based on the New Testament and completely loses it, launching into a egotistical tirade, and berating the interviewer. One of my favourites. Enjoy! Thanks to Göttersturm for the subtitle work on this!

Kenny you almost made it,
I'd say you were halfway there
Kenny your hands are frozen,
and this is so unfair
What would you do,
given a chance to meet God?
Where did you go, why did you die,
I was a doctor, so where was I?
Kenny the moment's passed us by,
moments turn to days
Turning confidence away,
self assuredness to shame
What would you do,
given a chance to meet God?
