♣♣♣ Singam ♣♣♣ An honest police officer gets transferred to Chennai by an http://snapsdragons.blogspot.com/1655607 influential goon. Unable to gain any evidence against the wrong doings of the goon, he decides to head back to his village; his girlfriend encourages him to stay and fight back.
The Story is about Singam a honest police sub inspector of Nallur. He belongs to Nallur with his father having a respectable status in the village. His family business is provision stores and singam wants to join it, but he joined police due to his father's wishes. He resolves most of the problems in his village with non-violence and mutual counselling. He uses force only when the situation demands it, thereby gaining much reputation and love from the villagers. Mahalingam is an industrialist in Chennai and a friend of Singam's father . He comes to the village with his beautiful daughter Kavya. Eventually Singam and Kavya fall in love with each other. Everything seems to be smooth until Chennai based Shankar, a big-time extortionist with shady mafia dealings who blackmails people by complaining to the Income Tax Department, is required to travel to Nallur to sign a conditional bail. He instead, sends one of his allies to do the formalities, much to the anger and rage of Singam who demands Shankar sign the bail in person. Humiliated, Shankar reaches Nallur but is unable to take any revenge on Singam fearing the immense love and devotion of the entire village towards Singam. Using his political contacts, he gets Singam transferred to Chennai to teach him a lesson. The gangster then swears to seek revenge and humiliate him.

He meets with and falls in love with Kavya Mahalingam but faces strong opposition from her Chennai-based businessman father, who does not approve of him. Before things could be sorted out, the High Court directs an influential gangster, Mayil Vaaganam, to report to Durai. The former initially refuses to attend, but relents and attempts to vainly use goon power to intimidate Durai and instead ends up humbled and humiliated. Upon the latter's return to Chennai, he ensures Durai gets transferred there and prepares a plan to terrorize and humiliate not only Durai but also his friends and family with impunity.

Singam (English: Lion) is a 2010 Indian Tamil action masala film directed by Hari, starring Suriya and Anushka Shetty in the lead. The film, produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja in association with Reliance Big Pictures, and distributed by Sun Pictures, was released on 28 May 2010. Upon release, the film was dubbed into Telugu and released as Yamudu and into Hindi as The Fighterman Singham. Plot
Durai Singam (Suriya), is the honest police sub-inspector of Nallur, a small village in Thoothukudi district in southern Tamil Nadu, assisted by his bumbling colleague Erimalai (Vivek). He uses the powers vested in him wisely and well, and is, therefore, respected by everyone. He meets with and falls in love with Kavya Mahalingam but faces strong opposition from her Chennai-based businessman father, who does not approve of him. Before things could be sorted out, the High Court directs an influential gangster, Mayil Vaaganam, to report to Durai. The former initially refuses to attend, but relents and attempts to vainly use goon power to intimidate Durai and instead ends up humbled and humiliated. Upon the latter's return to Chennai, he ensures Durai gets transferred there and prepares a plan to terrorize and humiliate not only Durai but also his friends and family with impunity.
