Lois Maffeo (professionally known for much of her career as Lois) is an American musician and writer who lives in Olympia, Washington. Although never achieving mainstream success, she has been closely involved with and influenced many independent musicians, especially in the 1990s-era Olympia, Seattle and Washington, D.C. music scenes.
Maffeo was raised in Phoenix, Arizona and graduated in 1981 from Xavier College Preparatory, an all-female private Catholic high school. She moved to Olympia, Washington to attend Evergreen College.
Courtney Michelle Love (born Courtney Michelle Harrison, July 9, 1964) is an American rock singer, songwriter, actress, and visual artist. Prolific in the punk and grunge scenes of the 1990s as the frontwoman of Hole, Love became a fixture in alternative music, drawing public attention for her uninhibited stage presence and confrontational lyrics, as well as her highly publicized personal life following her marriage to Kurt Cobain.
The daughter of psychotherapist Linda Carroll and Hank Harrison, Love had a nomadic early life; she mainly grew up in Oregon and California, where she was in a series of short-lived bands before landing roles in films by British director Alex Cox. After forming Hole in 1989, she received substantial attention from underground rock press for the group's debut album, produced by Kim Gordon, while the group's second release, Live Through This (1994), lent her a more high-profile renown, receiving critical accolades and going multi-platinum. In 1995, she returned to acting, earning a Golden Globe Award nomination for her performance in Miloš Forman's The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996). Shortly after, Hole's third release, Celebrity Skin (1998), earned Love recognition as a mainstream musician, and was nominated for multiple Grammy Awards.
Lois is a common English name from the New Testament. Paul mentions Lois as the pious grandmother of Timothy in his second epistle to Timothy (commending her for her faith in 2 Timothy 1:5). The name was first used by English Christians after the Protestant Reformation, and it was popular, particularly in North America, during the first half of the 20th century.

Lois - Rougher (Elliott Smith on guitar) Lyrics: It isn't really so unfair Forgive him if he didn't care To live on nothing but thin air Each message that he sent shot through Went on beyond old "how are you" Went on beyond old "I love you" Promised me it would be rougher Promised me he wouldn't love her The feeling that we'd never meet I left his letters on the street At least the ones I thought to keep I'm so not mad, it was so rare Forgive him if he didn't care To live on nothing but thin air Promised me it would be rougher Promised me he wouldn't love her Promised me it would be rougher Promised me he wouldn't love her Love her Love her Love her

You said too much
And what you said, it was a lie
You said too much
And what you said it was a crime
I've bled too much
With every lie you keep on telling
I've bled too much
This time, each time
The harder we fall
The closer we are
Well I don't feel blue
When I'm with you
You said too much
And what you said, it was a lie, lie, lie
And what you said, it was a lie, lie, lie
And what you said, it was
Each time we fall
You say too much
This time, each time
The harder we fall
The closer we are
Well I don't feel blue
When I'm with you
You said too much
And what you said, it was a lie, lie, lie
And what you said, it was a lie, lie, lie
And what you said, it was
The harder we fall
The closer we are
Well I don't feel blue
When I'm with you
You said too much
And what you said, it was a lie, lie, lie
And what you said, it was a lie, lie, lie
And what you said, it was
This time I don't feel so blue
When I'm with you, when I'm with you
This time I don't feel so blue
When I'm with you, when I'm with you
