Traditionally an oath (from Anglo-Saxon āð, also called plight) is either a statement of fact or a promise with wording relating to something considered sacred as a sign of verity. A common legal substitute for those who conscientiously object to making sacred oaths is to give an affirmation instead. Nowadays, even when there's no notion of sanctity involved, certain promises said out loud in ceremonial or juridical purpose are referred to as oaths. To swear is a verb used to describe the taking of an oath, to making a solemn vow.
Usually oaths have referred to a deity significant in the cultural sphere in question. The reciter's personal views upon the divinity of the aspects considered sacred in a predictated text of an oath may or may not be taken in to account. There might not be alternative personal proclamations with no mention of the sacred dogma in question, such as affirmations, to be made. This might mean an impasse to those with unwillingness to edify the dogma they see as untrue and those who decline to refer to sacred matters on the subject at hand.
An oath is a solemn promise or attestation of truth, types of which include:

"Oath" is a song by British singer and performer Cher Lloyd, featuring vocals from American rapper Becky G. The track was released on 2 October 2012, as the second single from the American version of Lloyd's debut studio album, Sticks and Stones, and the fourth single overall. "Oath", produced by Dr. Luke and Cirkut, was played for the first time on New York radio station Z100 FM. The track was released as single in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand only. "Oath" was not as successful as Lloyd's previous single, "Want U Back", in the United States, debuting at number 99, and peaking at number 73 on the Billboard Hot 100. In New Zealand, following the major success of "Want U Back", which reached number three, "Oath" made a respectable impact, peaking at number 13, becoming Lloyd's third consecutive Top 20 hit in that country.
"Oath" was originally written by Rebbeca Gomez but was brought to Cher Lloyd by Dr. Luke. It was later modified by songwriters Ammar Malik and Emily Wright, along with help from producers Dr. Luke, Cirkut and Robopop, for inclusion on Lloyd's second studio album, slated for release in 2013. However, when it was revealed that Lloyd's debut album, Sticks and Stones, was set to be revised for the American and Australian markets, Lloyd's producers decided to use the track as one of the release's lead singles, and Lloyd asked Gomez to appear on the track with her to sing one of the verses. Thus, "Oath" was released as the album's second single, following "Want U Back", in both the United States and Australia, and also featured on the version of the album released in Japan. The track itself premiered on New York radio station Z100 FM on 7 September 2012. In promotion of the single, Lloyd performed it live solo on Today and Live! with Kelly and Michael and with Becky G on The X Factor USA, in front of her mentor and manager, Simon Cowell.
"Hate (I Really Don't Like You)" is a single by the Plain White T's. It is the first single from their fourth studio album Every Second Counts, released in 2006. This song has an acoustic version available on the Best Buy version of Every Second Counts. The song had become one of the band's highest charting singles.
The video has been seen on MTV, Kerrang!, MTV2 and Fuse TV. The music video shows lead singer Tom Higgenson taking a stroll in the city while many scenes of chaos are happening. It also has shots of the band performing in what seems to be a warehouse. His ex-girlfriend, played by Italia Ricci, comes along, and in surprise continues to watch him perform. It was filmed in Toronto, Canada.
Hate is the second studio album by Australian deathcore band Thy Art Is Murder. The album was released on October 19, 2012 through Halfcut Records, but was reissued on April 5, 2013 through Nuclear Blast after the band signed to the label. The album debuted at no. 35 on the ARIA Charts, making Thy Art Is a Murder the first extreme metal band ever to break the top 40. The album also reached no. 1 on AIR and peaked at 31 on the Top Heatseekers chart.
On March 31, 2013 Metal Hammer began streaming the album in full, in anticipation of the Nuclear Blast re-release.
AllMusic described the sound of the album as deathcore, as well as stating that the album is free of the cliches of the genre by noting that the group's focus is on "pushing the limits of intensity rather than just seeing how many breakdowns they can fit into a song"Exclaim! also noted the complexitiy of the music in comparison to other deathcore groups, describing the album's sound as a "harsh change from the simplistic sound popularized by Suicide Silence and their peers."
Hate is a comic book by writer-artist Peter Bagge. First published by Fantagraphics in 1990 it ran for 30 issues, and was one of the best-selling alternative comics of the 1990s, at its height selling 30,000 copies an issue. In 2000 Bagge revived the series in Hate Annual, a yearly comic which continues the story after Hate in short stories, in addition to Bagge's writings on Libertarianism and culture and topical cartoons.
Hate follows the life of Buddy Bradley, in a continuation of events from Bagge's strip "The Bradleys" from former publications Neat Stuff. It is set for the first half in Seattle and later in suburban New Jersey. Buddy has to deal with the end of adolescence, reluctantly growing up, his relationships with a host of unpleasant acquaintances he has to class as friends, working in dead-end jobs and having no direction in life. Bagge used memories of events from his own life as material.
Hate has been referenced by many commentators as an important example of Generation X comic culture and grunge culture in general. Bagge tends to see the parallels with the grunge lifestyle as largely coincidental, as he was referencing events that had happened to him ten years previous. The comic was also released in Europe in the mid 90s as Spanish, Italian and German language editions, the Spanish Odio proving particularly popular.
The fourth and final season of the ABC American television drama series Revenge premiered on September 28, 2014. The show continues to air Sundays at 10:00 pm (ET). This season sees several cast changes as both Barry Sloane and Henry Czerny's characters, Aiden Mathis and Conrad Grayson, were killed off in the Season 3 finale. This is the first season not to feature Czerny's character. James Tupper and Karine Vanasse who play David Clarke and Margaux LeMarchal respectively, have been upgraded to series regulars. The series stars Madeleine Stowe and Emily VanCamp.
Brian Hallisay was cast as Ben, Jack's new police partner with hopes of becoming a detective. Elena Satine was cast as Louise, the daughter of a wealthy family.
The season focuses on the revelation that David Clarke is alive and the continued feud between Emily and Victoria, who finally knows Emily's true identity and seeks her own revenge. As David makes a return to the Hamptons the two women fight to position him against the other.

Yo, my best friend, best friend 'til the very end Cause best friends, best friends don't have to pretend You need a hand, and I'm right there right beside you You in the dark, I'll be the bright light to guide you 'Member the time, time, times sneaking out the house All of the time, time, times that you had your doubts And don't forget all the trouble we got into We got something you can't undo, do Laughing so damn hard Crashed your dad's new car All the scars we share I promise, I swear Wherever you go, just always remember That you got a home for now and forever And if you get low, just call me whenever This is my oath to you Wherever you go, just always remember You're never alone, we're birds of a feather And we'll never change, no matter the weather This is my oath to you I know I ...
