Deborah Ellis is a Canadian author.
Born in Cochrane, Ontario, Canada, Ellis and her family moved several times during her childhood due to her parent's work. Ellis decided to start writing when she was 11–12 years old.
Much of her work as a writer has been inspired by her travels and conversations with people from around the world and their stories. She has held many jobs relating to the Anti-war movement.
She travelled to Afghanistan in 1997 to interview refugees in refugee camps. From these interviews, she wrote the four part series which includes The Breadwinner, a book about a girl named Parvana,Parvana's Journey, its sequel, and Mud City, about Shauzia, Parvana's best friend, as well as an adult book, Women of the Afghan War. While The Breadwinner was inspired by an interview with a mother in a refugee camp, the subsequent books in the trilogy were more imaginative explorations of how children would survive.
In 1999, her novel Looking for X was published. It follows a young girl in her day-to-day life in a poor area of Toronto and it received the Governor General's Literary Award in 2000.
Deborah (Hebrew: דְּבוֹרָה, Modern Dvora, Tiberian Dəḇôrā ; "Bee") was a prophet of the God of the Israelites, the fourth Judge of pre-monarchic Israel, counselor, warrior, and the wife of Lapidoth according to the Book of Judges chapters 4 and 5. The only female judge mentioned in the Bible, Deborah led a successful counterattack against the forces of Jabin king of Canaan and his military commander Sisera; the narrative is recounted in chapter 4.
Judges chapter 5 gives the same story in poetic form. This passage, often called The Song of Deborah, may date to as early as the 12th century BC and is perhaps the earliest sample of Hebrew poetry. It is also significant because it is one of the oldest passages that portrays fighting women, the account being that of Jael, the wife of Heber, a Kenite tent maker. Jael killed Sisera by driving a tent peg through his temple as he slept. Both Deborah and Jael are portrayed as strong independent women. The poem may have been included in the Book of the Wars of the Lord mentioned in Numbers 21:14.
Ellis is a first name and surname of English origin. The surname was first recorded in 1202 in Lincolnshire, England.

All my love is all I have (And my dreams are very special)
All my life I looked for you (And today my dreams come true)
You need me and I need you (Love and us is very special)
Things you seem to do divine (You look straight into my eyes)
I know our love was meant to be ('Cause our souls touch tenderly)
Love is life and life is livin', it's very special
In my heart there was you holding
Love is life where dreams come true
And even though I can't have you, baby
Desires like these are true for you
Hold my hand and take my life (Through these days adventure rules)
Once my love was truly great (And my life was so together)
A change in life can bring good things (When you're here, love so supreme)
Close to our lips should meet (To remember days so sweet)
I need you and you need me, very special
Our love is joyous, yeah, we can make it
In my heart there was you holding
Love is life where dreams come true
And even though I can't have you, baby
Desires like these are true for you
All my love is all I have (And my dreams are very special)
All my life I looked for you (And today my dreams come true)
You need me and I need you (Love and us is very special)
Things you seem to do divine (You look straight into my eyes)
I know our love was meant to be (Because our souls touch tenderly)
Love is life and life is living, it's very special
Boy, ho, yeah, yeah
Then your love excited me, baby
Days full of joy come true
Can I keep this feelin' inside dearly
'Cause a girl like me has realized that
All my love is all I have (And my dreams are very special)
All my life I looked for you (And today my dreams come true)
You need me and I need you (Love and us is very special)
Things you seem to do divine (You look straight into my eyes)
