This is a project that has been on my mind for over four and a half years-- outlining all the Books of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. This series is not ment to be an exhaustive, indepth study of the Bible, but an overview of why each of the sixty-six Books were written, and to see the unfolding plan of God, from the creation of the universe, to the consummation of all things in the Book of Revelation. Now, some of the information put forth in the videos will come from my own personal studies, but *most of it* will come from the study notes and commentaries of the teachers who have influenced me over the last sixteen years, such as: Dr.J. Bible (American Standard Version) Judges
"The Book of Judges (Hebrew: Sefer Shoftim) is a book of the Bible originally written in Hebrew. It appears in the Tanakh and in the Christian Old Testament. Its title refers to its contents; it contains the history of Biblical judges (not to be confused with modern judges), who helped rule and guide the ancient Israelites, and of their times. As Judges stands today, the last judge it mentions is Samson, and although there are two further stories, the traditional view is that Samson's exploits probably synchronise with the period immediately preceding Eli, who was both high priest and judge. Both academic views and traditional thought hence view the narrative of the judges as ending at Samson, picking up again at 1 Samuel 1:1 to consider Eli, and continuing through to 1 Samuel 7:2. As for the stories at the end of the Book, which are set in the same time period as the judges but discuss people other than the judges, there is much affinity between these and the Book of Ruth, and many people believe Ruth originally belonged amongst them. The Revised Version, Standard American Edition of the Bible, more commonly known as the American Standard Version (ASV), is a version of the Bible that was released in 1901. It was originally best known by its full name, but soon came to have other names, such as the American Revised Version, the American Standard Revision, the American Standard Revised Bible, and the American Standard Edition. By the time its copyright was renewed in 1929, it had come to be known by its present name, the American Standard Version. Because of its prominence in seminaries, it was in America sometimes simply called the "Standard Bible".

I made this video to remind everyone of what a lovely character the god of the bible is.
I'm sorry, folks, it is just too easy to pull out verses, chapters, and even books, to show him up as an insane psychopath.
And in case you're wondering - yes, I read all of the arguments that claim that Jephthah's daughter wasn't sacrificed at all, whilst I was researching the video.
Sorry, apologists, those arguments just don't hold water. If they did, you'd think at least ONE team of biblical scholars would have come up with a bible translation that suggested as much. None have. Take it up with THEM before you bother with me. And in the meantime - please inform the christians and jews of the world that their bibles are inaccurate after all, if that's what you believe.

DAMMIT. Typographical errors. I know that the book of the bible is called "Hebrews" (as in plural hebrew), but I cited it without the "s" in two cases (but correctly in one case). I don't know why. Sorry.
Chronology is all over the place, for the sake of a coherent script, and for this I don't apologize. After all, we are told that Yahweh is eternal and doesn't change. "The grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever" (Isaiah 40:8) "Whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God above, who created all heaven's lights. Unlike them, He never changes or casts shifting shadows" (James 1:17). "I, the Lord, do not change." (Malachi 3:6)
So, I don't care if the events that I mentioned apart from Jephthah's narrative (such as Joshua, and King Menahem) are out of order.
I put words into Yahweh's mouth in the first half, but only along the following guidelines:
He has an intense interest in virgins and virginity. Indeed, the most important thing we are told about Jephthah's daughter is not her age, not her name, not her star sign, not whether she had a high or low IQ, but that she died having never had sexual intercourse. That's what she was: a virgin - and thats all she was.
I made Yahweh more interested in the sacrifice than the biblical account includes. However, keep in mind that Yahweh acted in Jephthah's favor after he basically offered to make a human sacrifice. The fact that Yahweh accepted this deal, rather than declining to accept on the grounds that it was immoral, is hardly made any worse by having him take an thinly veiled interest in receiving the human sacrifice.
The presence of servants is assumed, but SOMETHING has to explain Jephthah's obvious surprise and severe disappointment that it was his daughter who came out of his home first. If you'd like to argue that it was wrong of me to invent characters like that, and that the deal was struck with the only possible candidates for the sacrifice having been only a wife and a daughter, then feel free - I don't think it will get you very far.
Some suggest that he expected an animal to walk out of his house first. Really, c'mon. I gave you the list of the numbers of animals slaughtered by Moses, do you think Yahweh would be satisfied with a single goat wandering out of Jephthahs front door?

A biblical judge (Hebrew: shôphaatîm or shoftim שופטים) is "a ruler or a military leader, as well as someone who presided over legal hearings."
Following the conquest of Canaan by Joshua until the formation of the first Kingdom of Israel (ca. 1150-1025 BC), the Israelite Tribes formed a loose confederation. No central government existed in this confederation and in times of crisis, the people were led by ad hoc leaders known as judges.
The Book of Judges mentions judges such as Othniel, Ehud, Shamgar, Deborah, Gideon, Tola, Jair, Jephthah, Ibzan, Elon, Abdon, and Samson; and the First Book of Samuel mentions Eli and Samuel, as well as Joel and Abiah (two sons of Samuel).
In the Book of Judges, a cyclical pattern is given to show the need for the various judges: apostasy of the Israelite people, hardship brought on as punishment from God crying out to the Lord for rescue. The judges were the ones chosen by God to rescue the people. But Biblical judges were not limited to the Book of Judges; Moses exercised the powers of superior judicial body before the Israelites long before and could be considered the first Biblical judge. "Moses also laid foundation for another separation, which has since become indispensable for any democracy. He created an independent judiciary". Moses is founder of basis of the philosophy of law as well as such modern legal doctrines as independent judiciary and separation of powers.).

Charles "Chuck" Missler is an author, evangelical Christian, Bible teacher, former businessman and US Naval officer. He is the founder of the Koinonia House ministry based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Missler was for several years the chairman, the chief executive, and the largest shareholder of Western Digital. In 1983 he became the chairman and chief executive of Helionetics Inc., another technology company. After teaching for many years at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, Missler moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1992 and founded Koinonia House. Through this organization, Missler distributes a monthly newsletter, Bible study tapes, and a radio show, and speaks at conferences.
Missler is a prominent speaker on the subject of bible prophecy. Missler has had numerous programs aired on the Christian television station GOD TV, namely the DVD versions of his biblical studies "Learn the Bible in 24 Hours", "The Book of Revelation", "The Book of Genesis", and "The Book of Daniel".[citation needed] A Los Angeles Times article reported that Missler and co-author Hal Lindsey had plagiarized a portion of Miami University Professor Edwin Yamauchi's 1982 book Foes From the Northern Frontier in their own 1992 book The Magog Factor. A YouTube video in which Missler uses a jar of peanut butter to attempt to disprove evolution attracted media attention in 2007-2008.

Bible (American Standard Version) Judges "The Book of Judges (Hebrew: Sefer Shoftim) is a book of the Bible originally written in Hebrew. It appears in the Tanakh and in the Christian Old Testament. Its title refers to its contents; it contains the history of Biblical judges (not to be confused with modern judges), who helped rule and guide the ancient Israelites, and of their times. As Judges stands today, the last judge it mentions is Samson, and although there are two further stories, the traditional view is that Samson's exploits probably synchronise with the period immediately preceding Eli, who was both high priest and judge. Both academic views and traditional thought hence view the narrative of the judges as ending at Samson, picking up again at 1 Samuel 1:1 to consider Eli, and continuing through to 1 Samuel 7:2. As for the stories at the end of the Book, which are set in the same time period as the judges but discuss people other than the judges, there is much affinity between these and the Book of Ruth, and many people believe Ruth originally belonged amongst them. I'm sorry, folks, it is just too easy to pull out verses, chapters, and even books, to show him up as an insane psychopath. And in case you're wondering - yes, I read all of the arguments that claim that Jephthah's daughter wasn't sacrificed at all, whilst I was researching the video. Sorry, apologists, those arguments just don't hold water. If they did, you'd think at least ONE team of biblical scholars would have come up with a bible translation that suggested as much. None have. Take it up with THEM before you bother with me. And in the meantime - please inform the christians and jews of the world that their bibles are inaccurate after all, if that's what you believe. In all my videos, I'm going on what the words on the page of the bible actually say. I know that the book of the bible is called "Hebrews" (as in plural hebrew), but I cited it without the "s" in two cases (but correctly in one case). I don't know why. Sorry. Chronology is all over the place, for the sake of a coherent script, and for this I don't apologize. After all, we are told that Yahweh is eternal and doesn't change. "The grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever" (Isaiah 40:8) "Whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God above, who created all heaven's lights. Unlike them, He never changes or casts shifting shadows" (James 1:17). "I, the Lord, do not change." (Malachi 3:6) So, I don't care if the events that I mentioned apart from Jephthah's narrative (such as Joshua, and King Menahem) are out of order. I put words into Yahweh's mouth in the first half, but only along the following guidelines: He has an intense interest in virgins and virginity. Indeed, the most important thing we are told about Jephthah's daughter is not her age, not her name, not her star sign, not whether she had a high or low IQ, but that she died having never had sexual intercourse. That's what she was: a virgin - and thats all she was. I made Yahweh more interested in the sacrifice than the biblical account includes. However, keep in mind that Yahweh acted in Jephthah's favor after he basically offered to make a human sacrifice. The fact that Yahweh accepted this deal, rather than declining to accept on the grounds that it was immoral, is hardly made any worse by having him take an thinly veiled interest in receiving the human sacrifice. The presence of servants is assumed, but SOMETHING has to explain Jephthah's obvious surprise and severe disappointment that it was his daughter who came out of his home first. If you'd like to argue that it was wrong of me to invent characters like that, and that the deal was struck with the only possible candidates for the sacrifice having been only a wife and a daughter, then feel free - I don't think it will get you very far. Some suggest that he expected an animal to walk out of his house first. Really, c'mon. This is a project that has been on my mind for over four and a half years-- outlining all the Books of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. This series is not ment to be an exhaustive, indepth study of the Bible, but an overview of why each of the sixty-six Books were written, and to see the unfolding plan of God, from the creation of the universe, to the consummation of all things in the Book of Revelation. This series is not ment to be an exhaustive, indepth study of the Bible, but an overview of why each of the sixty-six Books were written, and to see the unfolding plan of God, from the creation of the universe, to the consummation of all things in the Book of Revelation. Now, some of the information put forth in the videos will come from my own personal studies, but *most of it* will come from the study notes and commentaries of the teachers who have influenced me over the last sixteen years, such as: Dr.J. Its title refers to its contents; it contains the history of Biblical judges (not to be confused with modern judges), who helped rule and guide the ancient Israelites, and of their times. As Judges stands today, the last judge it mentions is Samson, and although there are two further stories, the traditional view is that Samson's exploits probably synchronise with the period immediately preceding Eli, who was both high priest and judge. Both academic views and traditional thought hence view the narrative of the judges as ending at Samson, picking up again at 1 Samuel 1:1 to consider Eli, and continuing through to 1 Samuel 7:2. As for the stories at the end of the Book, which are set in the same time period as the judges but discuss people other than the judges, there is much affinity between these and the Book of Ruth, and many people believe Ruth originally belonged amongst them. The Revised Version, Standard American Edition of the Bible, more commonly known as the American Standard Version (ASV), is a version of the Bible that was released in 1901. It was originally best known by its full name, but soon came to have other names, such as the American Revised Version, the American Standard Revision, the American Standard Revised Bible, and the American Standard Edition. By the time its copyright was renewed in 1929, it had come to be known by its present name, the American Standard Version. Because of its prominence in seminaries, it was in America sometimes simply called the "Standard Bible".

The Revised Version, Standard American Edition of the Bible, more commonly known as the American Standard Version (ASV), is a version of the Bible that was released in 1901. It was originally best known by its full name, but soon came to have other names, such as the American Revised Version, the American Standard Revision, the American Standard Revised Bible, and the American Standard Edition. By the time its copyright was renewed in 1929, it had come to be known by its present name, the American Standard Version. Because of its prominence in seminaries, it was in America sometimes simply called the "Standard Bible".

I made this video to remind everyone of what a lovely character the god of the bible is.
I'm sorry, folks, it is just too easy to pull out verses, chapters, and even books, to show him up as an insane psychopath.
And in case you're wondering - yes, I read all of the arguments that claim that Jephthah's daughter wasn't sacrificed at all, whilst I was researching the video.
Sorry, apologists, those arguments just don't hold water. If they did, you'd think at least ONE team of biblical scholars would have come up with a bible translation that suggested as much. None have. Take it up with THEM before you bother with me. And in the meantime - please inform the christians and jews of the world that their bibles are inaccurate after all, if that's what you believe.

DAMMIT. Typographical errors. I know that the book of the bible is called "Hebrews" (as in plural hebrew), but I cited it without the "s" in two cases (but correctly in one case). I don't know why. Sorry.
Chronology is all over the place, for the sake of a coherent script, and for this I don't apologize. After all, we are told that Yahweh is eternal and doesn't change. "The grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever" (Isaiah 40:8) "Whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God above, who created all heaven's lights. Unlike them, He never changes or casts shifting shadows" (James 1:17). "I, the Lord, do not change." (Malachi 3:6)
So, I don't care if the events that I mentioned apart from Jephthah's narrative (such as Joshua, and King Menahem) are out of order.
I put words into Yahweh's mouth in the first half, but only along the following guidelines:
He has an intense interest in virgins and virginity. Indeed, the most important thing we are told about Jephthah's daughter is not her age, not her name, not her star sign, not whether she had a high or low IQ, but that she died having never had sexual intercourse. That's what she was: a virgin - and thats all she was.
I made Yahweh more interested in the sacrifice than the biblical account includes. However, keep in mind that Yahweh acted in Jephthah's favor after he basically offered to make a human sacrifice. The fact that Yahweh accepted this deal, rather than declining to accept on the grounds that it was immoral, is hardly made any worse by having him take an thinly veiled interest in receiving the human sacrifice.
The presence of servants is assumed, but SOMETHING has to explain Jephthah's obvious surprise and severe disappointment that it was his daughter who came out of his home first. If you'd like to argue that it was wrong of me to invent characters like that, and that the deal was struck with the only possible candidates for the sacrifice having been only a wife and a daughter, then feel free - I don't think it will get you very far.
Some suggest that he expected an animal to walk out of his house first. Really, c'mon. I gave you the list of the numbers of animals slaughtered by Moses, do you think Yahweh would be satisfied with a single goat wandering out of Jephthahs front door?

2 Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.
3 Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel.
4 LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.
5 The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel.
6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways.
7 The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.
8 They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?
9 My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the LORD.
10 Speak, ye that ride on white asses, ye that sit in judgment, and walk by the way.

13 Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the LORD made me have dominion over the mighty.
14 Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer.
15 And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there were great thoughts of heart.
16 Why abodest thou among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.
17 Gilead abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches.
18 Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeoparded their lives unto the death in the high places of the field.
19 The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.
20 They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.
21 The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.
22 Then were the horsehoofs broken by the means of the pransings, the pransings of their mighty ones.
23 Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against the mighty.
24 Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.
25 He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish.
26 She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples.
27 At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead.
28 The mother of Sisera looked out at a window, and cried through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? why tarry the wheels of his chariots?
29 Her wise ladies answered her, yea, she returned answer to herself,
30 Have they not sped? have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two; to Sisera a prey of divers colours, a prey of divers colours of needlework, of divers colours of needlework on both sides, meet for the necks of them that take the spoil?
