Travelling through the roads of Mandla town were we come across a bridge over the Narmada river, Madhya Pradesh.
Mandla is a city and a municipality in Mandla district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is the administrative headquarters of Mandla District. The town is picturesquely situated in a loop of the Narmada River, which surrounds it on three sides, and for 15 miles between Mandla and Ramnagar the river flows in a deep bed unbroken by rocks. The Narmada is worshipped here, and many beautiful ghats have been constructed on the banks of the river.
The city was a capital of the Gond dynasty who built a palace and a fort, which in the absence of proper care have gone to ruins.

मंडला का नाम होगा गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड में दर्ज
ख़ुशी में झूमे मंत्री आई जी और कलेक्टर, जमकर किया नृत्य और बजाई मांदर
मंडला - आदिवासी बाहुल्य मंडला जिला की समृद्ध लोक संस्कृति एवम् लोक कला को वैश्विक स्तर पर पहचान दिलाने जिला प्रशासन द्वारा 2 दिवसीय आदि उत्सव का आयोजन किया गया। महात्मा गांधी स्टेडियम में आदिवासियों का लोक नृत्य कर्मा की शानदार सामूहिक प्रस्तुति के जरिये गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड में नाम दर्ज कराने की कोशिश की गयी। इस प्रस्तुति में गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड के मापदंड के अनुरूप समस्त औपचारिक्तये पूरी कर अपना दावा प्रस्तुत कर दिया गया है उम्मीद की जा रही है की जल्द इसे आधिकारिक रूप से गिनीज़ बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड में दर्ज कर लिया जायेगा । इस प्रस्तुति में शामिल हुए छात्र छात्राएं जहां गौरव का अनुभव कर रहे है तो वही मंत्री इस गौरवपूर्ण उपलब्धि के लिए जिले को बधाई दे रहे है। सफल और शानदार प्रस्तुति का जश्न मानाने मंत्री विजय शाह, आई जी डी सी सागर, कलेक्टर लोकेश जाटव, सी ई ओ डॉ. जे विजय कुमार ने भी खूब कर्मा नृत्य लिया।
गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड के लिये प्रस्तुति रिकार्ड कराने के पूर्व प्रात: 5 बजे से ये छात्र छात्राएं अपने आवासीय स्थलों पर तैयार होकर आयोजन स्थल पहुंचे वहां पर प्रात: प्रशिक्षकों द्वारा महात्मा गांधी स्टेडियम के मुख्य द्वार पर कतारबद्ध किया गया तथा उनकी संख्या का आंकलन करने के लिये एक एक कर प्रवेश दिया गया जिसकी रिकार्डिंग ग्रीनिज बुक के कैमरा मैनों द्वारा की गई। गणना के आधार पर सभी 3050 छात्र छात्राएं रंग बिरंगी पोशाक में अपने अपने निर्धारित स्थल पर उपस्थित हुये। प्रशिक्षिकों द्वारा एक बार उनका पूर्वाभ्यास कराने के बाद तत्काल वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड के लिये प्रस्तुति की गई।

Mandla
Mandla is a city and a municipality in Mandla district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is the administrative headquarters of Mandla District. The town is picturesquely situated in a loop of the Narmada River, which surrounds it on three sides, and for 15 miles between Mandla and Ramnagar the river flows in a deep bed unbroken by rocks. The Narmada is worshipped here, and many beautiful ghats have been constructed on the banks of the river.
The city was a capital of the Gond dynasty who built a palace and a fort, which in the absence of proper care have gone to ruins.
History
Writers such as Alexander Cunningham,John Faithfull Fleet and Girija Shankar Agrawal identify Mandla as the location of ancient Mahishmati.
Gond queen,Rani Durgawati ruled Mandla province and fought against Akbar her valiant effort to save her kingdom is still subject of folklore. Rani Avanti bai of ramnagar later fought with British to save her kingdom from annexation.
The Gond-Rajput dynasty of Garha-Mandla commenced, according to an inscription in the palace of Ramnagar, in the fifth century, with the accession of Jadho Rai, a Rajput adventurer who entered the service of an old Gond king, married his daughter, and succeeded him to the throne. Alexander Cunningham placed the date two centuries later in 664 . The Garha-Mandla kingdom was a petty local chiefship until the accession of Sangram Sah, the forty-seventh king, in 1480. This prince extended his dominions over the Narmada Valley, and possibly Bhopal, Sagar, and Damoh and most of the Satpura hill country, and left fifty-two forts or districts to his son. In addition to Mandla, Jabalpur and Garha in Jabalpur District and Ramnagar in Mandla District served at times as capitals of the kingdom.

Mandla is a city and a municipality in Mandla district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is the administrative headquarters of Mandla District. The town is picturesquely situated in a loop of the Narmada River, which surrounds it on three sides, and for 15 miles between Mandla and Ramnagar the river flows in a deep bed unbroken by rocks. The Narmada is worshipped here, and many beautiful ghats have been constructed on the banks of the river.
The city was a capital of the Gond dynasty who built a palace and a fort, which in the absence of proper care have gone to ruins.

ख़ुशी में झूमे मंत्री आई जी और कलेक्टर, जमकर किया नृत्य और बजाई मांदर
मंडला - आदिवासी बाहुल्य मंडला जिला की समृद्ध लोक संस्कृति एवम् लोक कला को वैश्विक स्तर पर पहचान दिलाने जिला प्रशासन द्वारा 2 दिवसीय आदि उत्सव का आयोजन किया गया। महात्मा गांधी स्टेडियम में आदिवासियों का लोक नृत्य कर्मा की शानदार सामूहिक प्रस्तुति के जरिये गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड में नाम दर्ज कराने की कोशिश की गयी। इस प्रस्तुति में गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड के मापदंड के अनुरूप समस्त औपचारिक्तये पूरी कर अपना दावा प्रस्तुत कर दिया गया है उम्मीद की जा रही है की जल्द इसे आधिकारिक रूप से गिनीज़ बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड में दर्ज कर लिया जायेगा । इस प्रस्तुति में शामिल हुए छात्र छात्राएं जहां गौरव का अनुभव कर रहे है तो वही मंत्री इस गौरवपूर्ण उपलब्धि के लिए जिले को बधाई दे रहे है। सफल और शानदार प्रस्तुति का जश्न मानाने मंत्री विजय शाह, आई जी डी सी सागर, कलेक्टर लोकेश जाटव, सी ई ओ डॉ. जे विजय कुमार ने भी खूब कर्मा नृत्य लिया।
गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड के लिये प्रस्तुति रिकार्ड कराने के पूर्व प्रात: 5 बजे से ये छात्र छात्राएं अपने आवासीय स्थलों पर तैयार होकर आयोजन स्थल पहुंचे वहां पर प्रात: प्रशिक्षकों द्वारा महात्मा गांधी स्टेडियम के मुख्य द्वार पर कतारबद्ध किया गया तथा उनकी संख्या का आंकलन करने के लिये एक एक कर प्रवेश दिया गया जिसकी रिकार्डिंग ग्रीनिज बुक के कैमरा मैनों द्वारा की गई। गणना के आधार पर सभी 3050 छात्र छात्राएं रंग बिरंगी पोशाक में अपने अपने निर्धारित स्थल पर उपस्थित हुये। प्रशिक्षिकों द्वारा एक बार उनका पूर्वाभ्यास कराने के बाद तत्काल वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड के लिये प्रस्तुति की गई।

The park has a significant population of Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, the sloth bear, Barasingha and Indian wild dog. The lush sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows and ravines of Kanha provided inspiration to Rudyard Kipling for his famous novel "Jungle Book "
Flora
Kanha National Park is home to over 1000 species of flowering plants.[2] The lowland forest is a mixture of sal (Shorea robusta) and other mixed forest trees, interspersed with meadows. The highland forests are tropical moist dry deciduous type and of a completely different nature with bamboo on slopes (Dendrocalamus strictus). A very good looking Indian ghost tree can also be seen in the dense forest.
Kanha Tiger Reserve abounds in meadows or maidans which are basically open grasslands that have sprung up in fields of abandoned villages, evacuated to make way for the animals. Kanha meadow is one such example. There are many species of grass recorded at Kanha some of which are important for the survival of Barasingha (Cervus duvauceli branderi). Dense forested zones with good crown cover has abundant species of climbers, shrubs and herbs flourishing in the understory. Aquatic plants in numerous "tal" (lakes) are life line for migratory and wetland species of birds.
Tigers of Kanha
Currently one of the dominant male tigers of Kanha National Park is a tiger named Munna. Munna is famous for his large size, big head and has symbol "CAT" written on his head.
Transport & facilities
Jabalpur, the most convenient place to approach the Park from, has the nearest airport (175 km), Nagpur (260 km) and Raipur(219 km) have other airports, Mandla (70 km) has a good connection with Kanha and there is a tourist taxi service from Jabalpur to the national park. From Jabalpur, the best way to travel is via Mandla and Nainpur - perhaps with an overnight stop - then taking the diversion at Bamhni. Mandla, Nainpur and Seoni all have sports clubs, Internet cafes, guides, Christian churches and some beautiful temples.
There are three gates for entrance into the Park. The Kisli gate is best accessed from Jabalpur and stops at the village Khatia, inside the buffer area. The second gate is at Mukki and the third, most recently opened, gate is at Serai.

Together with a surrounding buffer zone of 1,067 km² and the neighboring 110 km² Phen Sanctuary it forms the Kanha Tiger Reserve.[1] This makes it the largest National Park in Central India.
The park has a significant population of Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, the sloth bear, Barasingha and Indian wild dog. The lush sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows and ravines of Kanha provided inspiration to Rudyard Kipling for his famous novel "Jungle Book "
Flora
Kanha National Park is home to over 1000 species of flowering plants.[2] The lowland forest is a mixture of sal (Shorea robusta) and other mixed forest trees, interspersed with meadows. The highland forests are tropical moist dry deciduous type and of a completely different nature with bamboo on slopes (Dendrocalamus strictus). A very good looking Indian ghost tree can also be seen in the dense forest.
Kanha Tiger Reserve abounds in meadows or maidans which are basically open grasslands that have sprung up in fields of abandoned villages, evacuated to make way for the animals. Kanha meadow is one such example. There are many species of grass recorded at Kanha some of which are important for the survival of Barasingha (Cervus duvauceli branderi). Dense forested zones with good crown cover has abundant species of climbers, shrubs and herbs flourishing in the understory. Aquatic plants in numerous "tal" (lakes) are life line for migratory and wetland species of birds.
Tigers of Kanha
Currently one of the dominant male tigers of Kanha National Park is a tiger named Munna. Munna is famous for his large size, big head and has symbol "CAT" written on his head.
Transport & facilities
Jabalpur, the most convenient place to approach the Park from, has the nearest airport (175 km), Nagpur (260 km) and Raipur(219 km) have other airports, Mandla (70 km) has a good connection with Kanha and there is a tourist taxi service from Jabalpur to the national park. From Jabalpur, the best way to travel is via Mandla and Nainpur - perhaps with an overnight stop - then taking the diversion at Bamhni. Mandla, Nainpur and Seoni all have sports clubs, Internet cafes, guides, Christian churches and some beautiful temples.
There are three gates for entrance into the Park. The Kisli gate is best accessed from Jabalpur and stops at the village Khatia, inside the buffer area. The second gate is at Mukki and the third, most recently opened, gate is at Serai.
