Gonda district
Gonda is one of the districts of Uttar Pradesh, India. The city of Gonda is the district headquarters, and also the administrative centre for the Devipatan Division.
With an area of 3,404 square kilometres (1,314 sq mi), Gonda has borders with Shrawasti district to the north, Balrampur and Siddharthnagar districts to the northeast, Basti district to the east, Faizabad district to the south, Bara Banki district to the southwest, and Bahraich district to the northwest. The district lies between 26° 47' and 27° 20' north latitude and 81° 30' and 82° 46' east longitude.
History
The territory covered by the present district of Gonda formed part of the ancient Kosala Kingdom. After the death of Rama, the celebrated sovereign of the Solar line who ruled Kosala, the kingdom was divided into two portions defined by the Ghaghara river. The northern portion was then ruled by his son, Lava with the city of Sravasti as his capital.
More recently, ancient Buddhist remains dating to the early days of Buddhism have been found throughout the region, including at Sravasti.

History Rajmahal

Neel-kothi is a historical place and it is located at the heart of the city of Rajmahal.It is built by Englishman on 24th. September 1796 to process Neel(Indigo) used for dying cotton cloth; Then British government was ruling Rajmahal.It is an historic town situated on the west bank of the Ganges, and located in the hills known as Daman-i-Khoh during the Muslim rule. The hills run north-south for 193 km from Sahebganj to Rampurhat. The earlier name of the place was Agmahal. Man Singh, on his return from the conquest of Orissa in 1592, named it Rajmahal. On 9 November 1595 Man Singh laid the foundations of a new capital of Bengal Subah there and named it Akbarnagar, after Akbar, the emperor.
It appears to have been chosen as the site of the capital on account of its central position with reference to Bengal and Bihar and for its command of both the river Ganges and the pass of Teliagarhi. Man Singh built a palace, a fort, and also a Jama-i-Masjid (known as Hadafe Mosque). Soon, Rajmahal being a healthier site than Gaur, a city sprang up. The city, however, soon lost its strategic value. The river Ganges having receded nearly two miles, the city was no longer accessible to war-boats and it could not be defended on land and water. In 1608-09 Islam Khan transferred the capital to Jahangirnagar (Dhaka) in order to suppress the bara-bhuiyans and more effectively resist the growing power of the Portuguese and the Maghs. However, Rajmahal regained its administrative position in 1639, when Shah Shuja (1639-1660) set up his capital there. The prince built the famous palace called Sang-i-dalan (Stone Palace) for his own residence with an attached Diwan khana (audience hall).
On 20 January 1640, a fire caused immense destruction to the palace complex and claimed seventy-five lives of Shuja's harem. Shuja crowned himself in November 1657 in this city. It appears that he had extensive construction works done. At a considerable distance from the Sang-i-dalan is a ruin called the Phulbari (flower garden). Near this is the tomb of Bakht-Homa, widow of Shaista Khan. In the second half of the eighteenth century the city was 2.41 kilometre in length and 0.80 kilometre in breadth with numerous mosques and monuments.
The city's decline began when Mir Jumla II (1660-1663) transferred the capital again to Dhaka to check the Arakanese and the Portuguese pirates. The ruins of the old city are now covered with luxuriant jungle extended for about four miles to the west of the present sub-divisional town.
The first railway line from Howrah towards Delhi was routed through Rajmahal: the East Indian Railway line was completed in October 1859. The first train from Howrah to Rajmahal ran on 4 July 1860.
Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Rajmahal had a population of 17,974. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Rajmahal has an average literacy rate of 48%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 55%, and female literacy is 39%. In Rajmahal, 19% of the population is under 6 years of age.
It has to be mentioned that RAJMAHAL appears to be one of the big towns of India during the Mughal period.It had ice factories in the eighteenth century.In the history of urbanisation in India Rajmahal has a great place as an example of a five town when the modern amenities could not be thought of.(sources Sarkar and dutta textbook of the modern Indian history vol 1.,page286. piyush)

Jonha Falls in very famous water falls in Ranchi. Jonha falls is on river Kanchi,falling from a massive height of 144ft, it's a beautiful waterfall. It has 3 main streams. It's situated at around 5km from the Jonha fall diversion on Ranchi to Silli Road,first comes Jonha Falls, in 5km,then on that way,Sita Falls is 3.5km more far from Jonha. If you have your own vehicle,you can first visit Jonha,then Sita falls,on the same way.
During rainy season,when Jonha becomes more furiours with water,Sita falls becomes more beautiful with the greenish plants around the hill.

Topchanchi Lake, situated in the slant of Parasnath Hill, is a famous tourist & travel destination and picnic spot in whole Jharkhand, Bihar & West Bengal. It attracts tourists from not only all part of India, but also from foreign. The lake was artificially excavated in 1915 to provide water in Jharia, Dhanbad and the suburbs.
The lake is surrounded by mountains. There's a road which circles the whole lake in the bottom of mountains. Bike riding in the road is a enjoyable experience. There are benches under the trees to sit, in some places through the road. Nice place to sit and indulge in the silence and the nature.
Parasnath Hill, little far from the lake, is the highest hill of the state, of height 1350m. Parasnath Hill is a pilgrimage for the Jains. On the top of the hill, there are temples, and footmarks of 24 tirthankars are preserved there. The view from the top of Parasnath Hill is magnanimous.
Nearby travel destinations are Parasnath Hill(Sameed Shikharji), 24 Tonks, Jal Mandir, Madhuban, Topchanchi Park, Topchanchi Sanctuary and many more places.
Topchanchi can be reached by road, via the NH2 bypass. It's 31km from Dhanbad, around 41km from Steel City Bokaro, and around 100km from Asansol. Buses going to Giridih can drop you at the entrance of the lake. Nearby railway station is Gomoh station. Way to Parasnath Temple is via Dumri More. Trek for the hill starts from Madhuban, which is around 37km from the lake.Best season to visit Parasnath is from October to June.

Rochester Minnesota is consistently named as one of the best cities to live in in America. We serve as host to over 2.7 million visitors each year. Many come for the Mayo Clinic. We want to make sure to make them feel welcome to our amazing city! There's always something going on in Rochester. Rochester is a city in the U.S. state of Minnesota and is the county seat of Olmsted County. Located on both banks of the Zumbro River, the city has a population of 106,769 according to the 2010 United States Census. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated 2012 population is 108,992. It is Minnesota's third-largest city and the largest city located outside of the Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of 2012, the Rochester metropolitan area has a population of 209,607.
Rochester is in Olmsted County, one of only four counties in Minnesota without a natural lake. Artificial lakes exist in the area, including Silver Lake, a dammed portion of the South Fork Zumbro River just below the convergence with Silver Creek near the city center. The lake is used as a cooling pond by the coal-burning power plant operated by Rochester Public Utilities at Silver Lake. The heated water from the plant generally prevents the lake from freezing over during the winter. The open water attracts large numbers of migrating Giant Canada Geese. Rochester has many parks such as Silver Lake and Soldiers Field. A major flood in 1978 led the city to embark on an expensive flood-control project that involved altering many nearby rivers and streams.
Rochester features a humid continental climate, with very warm summers and very cold winters.
As of the 2005--2007 American Community Survey, the median household income was $57,957 and the median family income was $74,467.
There were 43,025 households. The average household size was 2.42 and the average family size was 3.04.
The median age in the city was 35 years.
The Mayo Clinic forms the core of Rochester's economy. It employs over 30,000 people in the city and every year draws over 2 million visitors to the city. The clinic's many facilities, along with hotels, restaurants and retail stores, comprise nearly all of the city's downtown. Excluding the state government, the Mayo Clinic is the largest employer in Minnesota. Other care providers, including the Rochester Federal Medical Center, are significant employers.
Rochester's park system is large, with more than 100 sites covering 5 square miles (13 km2). The city maintains 85 miles (137 km) of paved trails. The south terminus of the Douglas State Trail, built on an abandoned railroad grade, is in Rochester.
Rochester is located in Minnesota's 1st congressional district, represented by Mankato educator Tim Walz, a member of the Democratic Farmer Labor Party| (DFL]. The city includes parts of Minnesota state legislative districts 29 and 30.
The mayor of Rochester is Ardell Brede. The city has an early defibrillation program; all marked city police cars carry defibrillators.

It is one of the busiest railway stations in India, and serves Central Railway trains terminating in Mumbai as well as the Mumbai Suburban Railway.
Mumbai CST will be upgraded (along with Pune Jn. and Nagpur Jn.) by means of a public-private partnership.
The station was designed by Frederick William Stevens, a consulting architect in 1887-1888. He received INR16.14 lakh as payment for his services.[2] Stevens earned the commission to construct the station after a masterpiece watercolour sketch by draughtsman Axel Haig.[2] The final design bears some resemblance to the St Pancras railway station in London.[2][3]
It took ten years to complete[3] and was named "Victoria Terminus" in honour of the Queen and Empress Victoria; it was opened on the date of her Golden Jubilee in 1887.[3][4] This famous architectural landmark in Gothic style was built as the headquarters of the Great Indian Peninsular Railway. Since then, the station came to be known as Mumbai VT.
In 1996, in response to demands by the Shiv Sena and in keeping with the policy of renaming locations with Indian names, the station was renamed by the state government after Chatrapati Shivaji, the famed 17th century Maratha king. On 2 July 2004, the station was nominated as a World Heritage Site by the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO.

Swaminarayan , also known as Sahajanand Swami, is the central figure in a modern sect of Hinduism known as the Swaminarayan Faith, a form of Vaishnavism. Within the faith, Swaminarayan is equated with the Supreme Being, Purushottama, or is venerated as an incarnation of Narayana from the Nara-Narayana deity pair. Swaminarayan was born Ghanshyam Pande in Chhapaiya, Uttar Pradesh, India in 1781. In 1792, he began a seven year pilgrimage across India, adopting the name Nilkanth Varni. He settled in the state of Gujarat around 1799. In 1800, he was initiated into the Uddhav Sampraday by his guru, Ramanand Swami, and was given the name Sahajanand Swami. In 1802, his guru handed over the leadership of the Uddhav Sampraday to him before his death. Sahajanand Swami held a gathering and taught the Swaminarayan mantra. From this point onwards, he was known as Swaminarayan and regarded as an incarnation of God by his followers. The Uddhav Sampraday became known as the Swaminarayan Sampraday.
