Billy Packer
Anthony William "Billy" Packer (born Anthony William Paczkowski, February 25, 1940) is a former American sportscaster and a published author. Packer spent more than three decades as a color analyst for television coverage of college basketball.
Biography
Early life
Packer was born Anthony William Paczkowski in Wellsville, New York. The Polish surname was changed subsequently from Paczkowski to Packer by his father. Tony Packer's 35 years of service at Lehigh University, included 16 seasons as the school's men's basketball head coach from 1950 to 1966. He is a graduate of Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina from 1958 to 1962 and played guard on the school's basketball team for his last three years (at the time, freshmen were not eligible for varsity sports), leading Wake to two Atlantic Coast Conference titles and the 1962 Final Four. He was a member of the Delta Nu chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity.
After graduation, he had a brief stint as an assistant coach for his alma mater. In 1972, Packer began his career in broadcasting in Raleigh, North Carolina, when he was asked to fill in as color analyst for a regionally televised ACC game. Packer became a regular the next season.

Dead Before Dawn
Dead Before Dawn 3D is a 2012 Canadian adventure-horror comedy directed by April Mullen, written by Tim Doiron, and starring Devon Bostick, Martha MacIsaac, and Christopher Lloyd. It introduces "zemons", a combination of zombie and demon. It is Canada's first stereoscopic live-action 3D feature film, and Mullen is the first woman to direct a live action, fully stereoscopic 3D feature film.
Plot
Casper Galloway (Devon Bostick), an overcautious boy, has become afraid of anything dangerous since the day his father died at the Occult Barn, his grandfather Horus's (Christopher Lloyd) shop. When Horus receives a lifetime achievement award, Casper mans the shop so Horus can collect the trophy. Horus warns "no-one is to come within spiting distance" of an urn kept on a high shelf topped with a skull. Horus goes on to tell Casper that his father (Casper's great grandfather, Gilbert Galloway) imprisoned a malevolent spirit inside the urn and it will curse the person that lets it out.

In April, artist Kevin Hunt and our Exhibitions Manager Hannah Jones opened their co-curated show ‘good things come…’ featuring work from 17 international sculpture artists, aiming to reveal how the size of an object and our attention upon it (as artists and spectators) is intrinsically linked to time. To find out about the exhibition, we sat down for a chat with exhibiting artist and curator, Kevin Hunt – watch it now above. Filmed and edited by Round One Films Ltd – run by BA (Hons) Film graduates Robert Marshall and Aden Barwick. Starting off our Sculpture Season in the Gallery is ‘good things come…’ an exhibition showcasing work by a variety of artists exploring objects and time through sculpture. Blink and you’ll miss it. The words conjure up a kind of panic of not wanting to lose sight of the protagonist ‘thing’ by keeping it locked into view. This 'thing' could be small, it might even be tiny (and therefore easy to miss) yet once found, the inevitability of time means that sooner or later you’ll have to give in and blink. good things come... proposes a scenario that contradicts this quandary by suggesting a world where the size of an object and our attention upon it (as artists and spectators) is intrinsically linked to time. Pursuing a dual concept governed by the multiple readings of this well-known phrase, good things come... presents small-scale selections and scaled-up collections. Complex objects of varying ages fuse history with form, implying that the more time we have to spend with a thing (and therefore the longer we wait) the greater the reward (perhaps even in the smallest of ways). The exhibition features an eclectic range of new and old works from 17 established and emerging artists, all of whom work with sculpture. It seeks to question the concept of time, asking audiences to consider each item in the exhibition. In April, artist Kevin Hunt and our Exhibitions Manager Hannah Jones opened their co-curated show ‘good things come…’ featuring work from 17 international sculpture artists, aiming to reveal how the size of an object and our attention upon it (as artists and spectators) is intrinsically linked to time.

Starting off our Sculpture Season in the Gallery is ‘good things come…’ an exhibition showcasing work by a variety of artists exploring objects and time through sculpture.
Blink and you’ll miss it. The words conjure up a kind of panic of not wanting to lose sight of the protagonist ‘thing’ by keeping it locked into view. This 'thing' could be small, it might even be tiny (and therefore easy to miss) yet once found, the inevitability of time means that sooner or later you’ll have to give in and blink.
good things come... proposes a scenario that contradicts this quandary by suggesting a world where the size of an object and our attention upon it (as artists and spectators) is intrinsically linked to time.
Pursuing a dual concept governed by the multiple readings of this well-known phrase, good things come... presents small-scale selections and scaled-up collections. Complex objects of varying ages fuse history with form, implying that the more time we have to spend with a thing (and therefore the longer we wait) the greater the reward (perhaps even in the smallest of ways).
The exhibition features an eclectic range of new and old works from 17 established and emerging artists, all of whom work with sculpture. It seeks to question the concept of time, asking audiences to consider each item in the exhibition.

Prestigious International 3D Award goes to “Dead Before Dawn 3D”
Liege, Belgium December 11, 2012 - Dead Before Dawn 3D does Canada a great honour by receiving the now famous 3D “Perron Crystal Award” at the Royal Wallonie Opera House as part of the 3D Stereo Media Summit and Film Festival.
For the fourth year, the 3D Film Festival was held in conjunction with the 3D Stereo MEDIA Summit. Over the span of 4 days world leading 3D professionals fly in from all around the globe to celebrate, discuss and discover new 3D achievements.
This year 3D mastermind Ben Stassen was the president of the jury alongside Fabien Remblier, Greg Passmore, Florian Maier, Kommer Kleijn, Buzz Hays, Sylvain Grain, and Joséphine Derobe. President Jim Chabin from the International 3D Society (Hollywood, California) and several members were also in attendance to celebrate the Perron Crystal Awards and the European 3D Creative Arts Awards.
Dead Before Dawn 3D was Awarded the 3D “Perron Crystal Award” in the category: Long Movie in Real Images. The Perron of Crystal is a piece of crystal artwork specially produced by crystal manufacture of the Van Saint-Lambert for the 3D Film Festival. April Mullen (director/producer) and Tim Doiron (producer/writer) from WANGO Films were in Belgium to accept the award.

Prestigious International 3D Award goes to “Dead Before Dawn 3D”
Liege, Belgium December 11, 2012 - Dead Before Dawn 3D does Canada a great honour by receiving the now famous 3D “Perron Crystal Award” at the Royal Wallonie Opera House as part of the 3D Stereo Media Summit and Film Festival.
For the fourth year, the 3D Film Festival was held in conjunction with the 3D Stereo MEDIA Summit. Over the span of 4 days world leading 3D professionals fly in from all around the globe to celebrate, discuss and discover new 3D achievements.
This year 3D mastermind Ben Stassen was the president of the jury alongside Fabien Remblier, Greg Passmore, Florian Maier, Kommer Kleijn, Buzz Hays, Sylvain Grain, and Joséphine Derobe. President Jim Chabin from the International 3D Society (Hollywood, California) and several members were also in attendance to celebrate the Perron Crystal Awards and the European 3D Creative Arts Awards.
Dead Before Dawn 3D was Awarded the 3D “Perron Crystal Award” in the category: Long Movie in Real Images. The Perron of Crystal is a piece of crystal artwork specially produced by crystal manufacture of the Van Saint-Lambert for the 3D Film Festival. April Mullen (director/producer) and Tim Doiron (producer/writer) from WANGO Films were in Belgium to accept the award.

In April, artist Kevin Hunt and our Exhibitions Manager Hannah Jones opened their co-curated show ‘good things come…’ featuring work from 17 international sculpture artists, aiming to reveal how the size of an object and our attention upon it (as artists and spectators) is intrinsically linked to time.

Starting off our Sculpture Season in the Gallery is ‘good things come…’ an exhibition showcasing work by a variety of artists exploring objects and time through sculpture.
Blink and you’ll miss it. The words conjure up a kind of panic of not wanting to lose sight of the protagonist ‘thing’ by keeping it locked into view. This 'thing' could be small, it might even be tiny (and therefore easy to miss) yet once found, the inevitability of time means that sooner or later you’ll have to give in and blink.
good things come... proposes a scenario that contradicts this quandary by suggesting a world where the size of an object and our attention upon it (as artists and spectators) is intrinsically linked to time.
Pursuing a dual concept governed by the multiple readings of this well-known phrase, good things come... presents small-scale selections and scaled-up collections. Complex objects of varying ages fuse history with form, implying that the more time we have to spend with a thing (and therefore the longer we wait) the greater the reward (perhaps even in the smallest of ways).
The exhibition features an eclectic range of new and old works from 17 established and emerging artists, all of whom work with sculpture. It seeks to question the concept of time, asking audiences to consider each item in the exhibition.

NICHOLAS LEE HAGEN, 19, was born February 5th, 1991 in Cresco, IA. Nick passed away on May 25th, 2010 after a car accident. Nick loved life. He was the loving son of Rick and Sandy Hagen of Cresco, IA and a loving brother of Jacob (21) and Ryan (17). He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Nick was always a selfless person. He was constantly thinking about others and always going out of his way to help others. His smile was constantly warming lives and his laugh was always resonating through his friends and family. As a child, it was evident that sports were going to be an important part of his life. Anyone that knew Nick knew that he was the biggest Green Bay Packer fan. In high school he focused on wrestling, football, cross-country, golf, and baseball. As a freshman Nick made it to the State Wrestling tournament. He lettered in nine sports and was honored with the Nine Letter Award at graduation. He was always organizing wiffle ball games, football games, and sand volleyball games. He loved people and people loved him. He enjoyed all kinds of music and loved to sing. He also enjoyed playing games and camping with friends and family. Nick also loved animals, especially cats.
Nick graduated from Crestwood High School in 2009. He just completed his first year of college at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA. The highlight was his flag football team winning the championship. Nick enjoyed running in races. A highlight was winning the Cresco Gravel Grinder in 2009.
Nick is survived by his parents: Rick and Sandy Hagen; brothers: Jacob and Ryan of Cresco, IA; grandparents: Dean and LaRue Hagen of Decorah, IA, John and Pam Bruning of Rochester, MN. He is survived by his aunts and uncles: Jane and Rocky McCaleb of Rochester, MN, Georgiann Hagen of Boone, IA, David and Jussara Hagen of Cedar Rapids, IA and Wes Brinkman of Cresco, IA; cousins: Bryan, Kevin, John, Jarred, Nora, Natalia, Asle, Karl, Hadlee, and Blayne. Nick is also survived by a special friend, Kristen Malanaphy, of Decorah, IA. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Connie Brinkmann.
