You use cuticle remover to remove the dead skin around your nails. It gives your fingernail a chance to breathe, and it avoids your skin from growing with the nail. If you ever take a long time to push back your cuticles you'll notice that your skin is growing with the nail. Then all of the sudden you'll start to see these little strips of skin peeling back. Eventually they'll start to pull into corners, and it'll crack, and you may see some bleeding. You'll definitely have some soreness.
To avoid that I recommend that you use a really good cuticle remover that sits around the cuticle area. You don't want it to run off. You want it to be thick enough so that it sits where you want it to be and that it works for you rather than you having to do a lot of work.
So, you apply it to the finger around the fingernail to make sure that you cover wherever the cuticles are. You would apply it to all five fingers from pinkie to thumb. That gives it a chance to start to work on the dead skin. Then you would work on the second hand.
After that you take an orange wood stick. The best ones to get are the ones that have an angle point because it allows you to push the cuticle back around the sides back here, and then around the sides again. Although you are doing it to yourself, if you could squeeze your finger and then push it back this way, this way you can definitely get into the corners and get all the dead skin that's here. Because, essentially, that's what the cuticles are. It's dead skin. The same way you exfoliate your skin to get rid of the dead skin you want to exfoliate and remove the dead skin from around your nail to give your nail bed a chance to breathe.
Like I said, the best kind of cuticle removers to use are the ones that sit right there and they don't run onto the nail. Because you want to make sure they're working on removing the dead skin for you so that you don't have to use a lot of pressure when you're using an orange wood stick. You keep the cuticle remover on long enough to get to the other hand.
If you find that your nails are dry, of course, you can always soak your nails first to soften up the cuticles, and then apply the cuticle remover. This way it doesn't hurt as much when you're pushing them back. But you want to be consistent with your push and the glide. Because you don't want to hurt yourself and avoid snagging the nail and creating hangnails. So you push back with one stroke. You push again. Then you push the other side.
As you can see, the cuticle remover is working. Removing the cuticles makes the nail polish look a lot neater. Because if the cuticles are dry the cuticles will actually absorb the nail polish. It'll look dry, and it'll look as if you didn't get close enough to the skin around your nail. And eventually, as it starts to chip, you'll start to see that the skin around the nail absorbed all the polish. It just doesn't look like a neat manicure. You want it to look as neat as possible especially if you select a dark color, because you want to make sure that it looks neat and dark colors stain the skin.
If you know your cuticles are dry and you don't have time to remove them the lighter color you use the better. This way it doesn't stain the skin around your nail.

Hey everyone! In this video I will share with you my personal nail care routine and how I take care of my cuticles. I am not a professional nail tech so these tips are of my own. I like to use a metal cuticle pusher to push back my cuticles for a clean and elongated look of my nails. A crucial step in my routine is also buffing my nails. I believe that using a gentle buffer can really help smooth and shine your nails for a really nice and professional look. To keep my cuticles healthy and moisturized, I like to use various cuticle creams or Vaseline to ensure strong nail growth. I hope this video will help some of you out there and I hope it will encourage you to perform a nail care routine at least once a week for best results. Thanks for watching everyone and I hope you all learn a tip or two to achieving beautiful, and healthy cuticles and nails!
Love,

Hey everybody!
Today I tested the Sally Hansen 18K gold cuticle eraser!
It's a cuticle gel with real 18K gold flecks, that are supposed to work wonders for your nails and cuticles.
Sally Hansen claims "18K Gold Cuticle Eraser is a must for healthy-looking, smooth cuticles. Exclusive gel texture combined with real gold trap moisture and nourishes cuticles. Features an innovative applicator with a built-in cuticle pusher cap, for a luminous, healthy-looking, beautiful nails and cuticles"
I purchased this a Target, and it retails at about $7.00-$8.00, however all Canadian Targets are closing, so I got mine for about $4.00.
You can also purchase this at your local Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Ulta, and Kmart.
Let me know if you liked my review with a THUMBS UP, and please SUBSCRIBE for more new videos!

Hello!
In today's video we will be learning a quick way to replace that super expensive cuticle cleaner by OPI, and make one by our own selves at less than 1/10th the price!

So let me tell you a bit about today's video, which I am sure you will absolutely adore if you are one of those girls who loves doing gradients using sponge, and just hate to clean up the mess - Because with this video, that problem will be solved for once and for all!
If you are a nail addict like myself, you might have heard of the super expensive OPI peel off cuticle polish, that thought, infinitely useful, just costs so much, that we sometimes would much rather go the hard way. Well, no more, since after today, you can learn how to make peel off cuticle protector yourself simply using a glue!
With this DIY peel off cuticle guard, you can now clean your polish mess super fast, and without any irrational pocket pinch too - we will just use a cheap craft glue that can be found at all stores, for barely $2-$3, and some tap water! So instead of $25 on a polish, that does the exact same thing, we will have 3-4 bottles just like that for barely $2-$3, in a matter of minutes!
Q: Can I store it in old polish bottles?
= Yes you can, but use it up within a few days. this thing dries up so fast! Or keep adding a drop of water not and then, but I see it is as a whole lot of trouble, and it has a huge potential for a lot of wastage!
One of the things that you must learn about this how to make DIY cuticle guard is that it can be stored easily in an old polish bottle. But not only is it better to use a thinner brush to apply it on your cuticles, but also, the thing will dry up fast in a bottle.
Q: It is not peeling off smoothly.
= Your consistency is not right.
If the glue is still too thick, you will really struggle to remove the thing. If it is too thin, then you will need to rub it off in an annoying way.
The best peel off cuticle protector is NOT watery - and NOT like gel thick! It should be just like a runny glue. You may need 2 or 3 tries to get it right.
Q: How long will it take to dry?
= About 5-8 minutes.
I really wish I could say that it dries fast, but it takes longer than your regular average nail polish. I still think though that the cleaner we make here is worth it eventually, simply because it takes much longer to remove this with acetone anyway. Plus way cheaper!
Q: How did you get this idea?
= I saw it on another channel, and wanted to try it out myself.
Credit goes to - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWzQpSYGPDk
When it worked, I decided to show it to my viewers in a video, since it was such an exciting concept, and I will be using this idea a LOT from now on. I very well knew you girls would start wondering!
Q: Where did you get that awesome brush/sponge etc etc?
= All my nail products are usually from - http://www.bornprettystore.com/?ref=1192
They have practically all kinds of basic nail related tools you can imagine!
Q: Can I use this as a base coat and then peel off the whole thing later?
= Absolutely! Keep in mind though, that polish/art will not last too long. And you might lose a whole design just like that if you wash or rub your hands. So use it only if you are doing your nails for a few hours and can be careful.
Tip: If the polish comes off one nail, quickly remove it from the other nails too! It is just peel off, and will be gone in seconds!
Q: So what are the pros and cons?
= Well here are they:
Pros:
1. Super easy DIY
2. Done using simple things that are easy to find.
3. Very effective.
4. Super cheap.
5. Saves time, money, and annoyance!
6. Healthier for your cuticles than acetone.
Cons:
1. Too long to dry
2. Dries up when stores long in a bottle
3. You will take a few tries to get the right consistency.
The beauty gurus just came up with this alternative very qucikly. since the formula was very easy to read.Though this was really a concept to make a nice guard. And seriously what is with that exorbitant price of their peel off stuff anyway?
Thanks a lot for watching this video!

I love this natural cuticle balm recipe! I think it has a lot to do with how healthy and long my nails have been in recent times. I use this nightly and love the feel and smell of it! It also makes a great homemade gift :D I hope it's useful X
Natural cuticle balm recipe;
- 1 1/2 tbsp grape seed oil - high levels of linoleum acid, really good for skin regeneration and anti-inflammatory properties
- 3/4 tsp wax
- 2 tsp jojoba - very absorbent and regenerative oil - close to skins own natural sebum
- 1 tsp vitamin e oil - super good oil for fry skin and conditions like eczema, or yellowing nails, it promotes healing and hydration
- 10drops lavender oil - & jojoba both aid in strengthening weak/brittle nails, it’s also anti fungal
- 10 drops frankincense oil - helps to promote healthy strong nail growth.
Otherwise if you just have vitamin e oil, grape seed or jojoba rubbing a little of that into your cuticles each night will be good
I hope you enjoyed this video ♡
