A spectacular aerial Journey by Sarasota Aerial Photographers, Celebrations of Tampa Bay. Amidst palm trees and bodies of waters, our Aerial Videographers in Sarasota fly over the popular wedding venues and vacation destinations of the Florida's Gulf Coast City.
We start at the John Ringling Bridge which connects downtown Sarasota with St Armands Key. We then fly west to Lido Beach and over St Armands Key Circle http://www.starmandscircleassoc.com/, a popular outdoor island shopping center and restaurants.
We then go back over the Ringling Bridge to the downtown area, and fly over the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall http://www.vanwezel.org/ a 1700 seat theatre. Sarasota is a city located in Sarasota County on the southwestern coast of the U.S. state of Florida. The area is renowned for its cultural and environmental amenities, beaches, resorts, connections to the Ringling family, and the Sarasota School of Architecture. The city is located in the southern end of the Tampa Bay Area, north of Fort Myers and Punta Gorda. Its current official limits include Sarasota Bay and several barrier islands between the bay and the Gulf of Mexico. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, in 2013 Sarasota had a population of 53,326. In 1986 it became designated as a certified local government. Sarasota is a principal city of the Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area, and is the seat of Sarasota County.

At one time, it and all of Longboat Key were considered part of Sarasota and confusing contemporaneous references may be found discussing them.
Longboat Key is the largest key separating the bay from the gulf, but it is now evenly divided by the new county line of 1921. The portion of the key that parallels the Sarasota city boundary that extends to that new county line along the bay front of the mainland was removed from the city boundaries at the request of John Ringling in the mid-1920s, who sought to avoid city taxation of his planned developments at the southern tip of the key. Although they never were completed in the quickly faltering economy, those development concessions granted by the city never were reversed and the county has retained regulation of those lands ever since.
The city limits had expanded significantly with the real estate rush of the early twentieth century, reaching almost 70 square miles (180 km2). The wild speculation boom began to crash in 1926 and following that, the city limits began to contract, shrinking to less than a quarter of that area.[11]

SARASOTA, FL (WFLA) – Record crowds are expected to show up at Robart’s Arena in Sarasota Saturday for a Donald Trump. “I don’t think Sarasota’s ever seen anything like this, I think there will be over 10,000 at the rally tomorrow,” said Joe Gruters who is Florida Donald Trump for President Co-Chairman.
“It’s almost like a snowball that’s rolling down the mountain and it’s not stopping because he’s picking up more and more support,” said Gruters.
Trump’s support seems to be strong despite more controversial comments this week, this time about a disabled reporter. Critics say that Trump was mocking the reporter.
“Certainly there are a lot of people who want to dislodge him as the leader of this Republican primary contest, especially members of the media,” said Gruters.
The question remains if Trump’s comments are impacting voter opinion.

Both deaths were in Manatee County said sheriff's office spokesman Dave Bristow. At least three tornadoes were reported in the region Sunday.
In nearby Sarasota County, several homes were damaged but there were no reports of major injuries, according to a county spokesman.
One family in Sarasota whose home was destroyed had to be removed from the wreckage by firefighters but they only suffered minor injuries.

Offshore Fishing from Sarasota [Amberjack, Snapper, Grouper]
On May 27th, I went fishing with David Headrick, Candace Headrick, and Capt. Milton Bontrager out of Sarasota. It was an awesome day on the water! We started off catching bait (pigfish, pinfish, threadfin, etc.) with sabiki rigs on the way out, and then ventured roughly 45 miles out seeking amberjack and red grouper. From the first drop, we had tons of action. The first drop resulted in a double hookup of amberjack which both were legal size to keep. After quickly limiting on amberjack, we checked out scattered spots along the way back looking for red grouper. At those spots, we caught 5 red grouper, 1 scamp grouper, and some really good snapper. The keys that are included in the boundary of Sarasota are Lido Key, St. Armands Key, Otter Key, Coon Key, Bird Key, and portions of Siesta Key. Previously, Siesta Key was named Sarasota Key. At one time, it and all of Longboat Key were considered part of Sarasota and confusing contemporaneous references may be found discussing them.
Longboat Key is the largest key separating the bay from the gulf, but it is now evenly divided by the new county line of 1921. The portion of the key that parallels the Sarasota city boundary that extends to that new county line along the bay front of the mainland was removed from the city boundaries at the request of John Ringling in the mid-1920s, who sought to avoid city taxation of his planned developments at the southern tip of the key. Although they never were completed in the quickly faltering economy, those development concessions granted by the city never were reversed and the county has retained regulation of those lands ever since.

SARASOTA, FL (WFLA) – Record crowds are expected to show up at Robart’s Arena in Sarasota Saturday for a Donald Trump. “I don’t think Sarasota’s ever seen anything like this, I think there will be over 10,000 at the rally tomorrow,” said Joe Gruters who is Florida Donald Trump for President Co-Chairman.
“It’s almost like a snowball that’s rolling down the mountain and it’s not stopping because he’s picking up more and more support,” said Gruters.
Trump’s support seems to be strong despite more controversial comments this week, this time about a disabled reporter. Critics say that Trump was mocking the reporter.
“Certainly there are a lot of people who want to dislodge him as the leader of this Republican primary contest, especially members of the media,” said Gruters.
The question remains if Trump’s comments are impacting voter opinion.

SARASOTA -- Thousands of people packed both the inside and outside of the Robarts Arena in Sarasota Satruday to hear Republican presidential candidate front-runner Donald Trump Satruday.
Trump spoke about immigration, the economy, Obamacare, and pledged to do more for military veterans who he called his biggest heroes.
Trump last visited Florida last month when he made stops before large crowds in Miami and Jacksonville.
The latest statewide poll shows Trump leading with 36 percent, followed by Marco Rubio, 18 percent, and Ben Carson at 15 percent. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was in fifth place with 8.9 percent.

Donald Trump clarifies about his comment on NYT reporter which was widely regarded as mocking.
SARASOTA -- Thousands of people packed both the inside and outside of the Robarts Arena in Sarasota Satruday to hear Republican presidential candidate front-runner Donald Trump Satruday.
Trump spoke about immigration, the economy, Obamacare, and pledged to do more for military veterans who he called his biggest heroes.
Trump last visited Florida last month when he made stops before large crowds in Miami and Jacksonville.
The latest statewide poll shows Trump leading with 36 percent, followed by Marco Rubio, 18 percent, and Ben Carson at 15 percent. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was in fifth place with 8.9 percent.

On May 27th, I went fishing with David Headrick, Candace Headrick, and Capt. Milton Bontrager out of Sarasota. It was an awesome day on the water!
We started off catching bait (pigfish, pinfish, threadfin, etc.) with sabiki rigs on the way out, and then ventured roughly 45 miles out seeking amberjack and red grouper.
From the first drop, we had tons of action. The first drop resulted in a double hookup of amberjack which both were legal size to keep.
After quickly limiting on amberjack, we checked out scattered spots along the way back looking for red grouper. At those spots, we caught 5 red grouper, 1 scamp grouper, and some really good snapper.
It was an absolute blast... hope to do it again very soon!

SARASOTA — For his first spring training game of the year, Darrin Russ showed up in the second inning. The Orioles fan got a shock at the entrance to Ed Smith Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. "Are we really down 7-0?" Russ asked, laughing with an usher. "What the heck happened?" ... On the drive from Fort Myers, they hit traffic on Interstate 75 and wound up late for the ballgame in Sarasota. Not that it mattered ... Home of the Braves ... ....
