Hundreds of residents continued to flee the Maidan neighbourhood of Mosul's Old City, Sunday, as the Iraqi army makes what it says is its final push against the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIL/ISIS) in the embattled city. Footage captured children and families fleeing the neighbourhood, as well as a woman suffering from heat stroke amid temperatures that have topped 50 degrees Celsius. Iraqi Special Operations Forces (ISOF) were seen patrolling the neighbourhood and offering assistance. Footage also showed the remains of the Great Mosque of al-Nuri in Mosul's Old Town, which could be seen from afar after much of the site was allegedly blown up by IS last week. The military operation against IS in Mosul began on October 17 last year, an offensive fronted by the Iraqi mi...

Telecommunication has traditionally relied on sight and sound. But what if you could touch someone from afar? Touch Room keeps your loved ones within arm's reach. To start, enter your name and create a Touch Room. Invite others to join, and watch their touch points move about on-screen in real time. When your fingertip meets theirs, your mobile devices vibrate, and you feel the connection. Brought to you by the BETA Group of Goodby Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco. We use technology to find interesting solutions to great problems. What we make is never final—instead we iterate and pivot.
Behind the recording of the original soundtrack of the short film "Sagnant", which I was honored to be a part of with my band Böira. This was our first ever recorded track since we formed the band! Sadly I had to be careful with spoilers, and couldn't edit it the way I may have wanted, but it had to be done early for promotional purposes. I might re-edit this one in the future to improve the whole narrative. The recording took a whole day, and I had to record the drums as well, so I couldn't get all the footage I would've liked due to tiredness, plus some of it might be a little extra shaky because of that. Thankfully, Tati, who is the director of the short film, spent the day with us, supervising our work, and helped me a bit with the filming. It was all recorded with a Canon 60D, 18-135...
A tale of romance from afar and learning to deal with the drudgery of a day job. The film played a few festivals and now I'm about to finish up a new short, so it felt time to put this one out. I am eternally grateful to all who helped with the production. Enjoy.
"The Dionysian" debuted as part of a multi-media fashion film installation on October 18th 2011 in renowned gallery Space 54 in the heart of Shoreditch in East London. From the collective talents of director and visual artist Stephen Lally ( http://www.stephenlally.com ) and fashion stylist Helen McGuckin ( http://helenmcguckin.com ), the film premiered as a multi-media gallery event that fused the worlds of fashion, film and art installation. In a postmodern conceit that favours Stephen's visual style and Helen's styling, "The Dionysian" is a narrative film to music that showcases the work of a host of new design talent in fashion, along with a powerful, original orchestral score and sound design. “The Dionysian” celebrates the hedonistic glamour of the 1980s New Wave scene, but thrus...
Once upon a time, there was a malicious dragon. And, there were brave, virtuous warriors, of course. However, the problem was not the dragon, nor the warriors. The problem was the Oracle’s prophecy. The Oracle had earlier revealed, “the one to give the final deathblow to the malicious dragon’s heart will be the Hero to save the world.” The warriors firmly swore to slay the dragon once and for all, but as they neared it, a question began to plague each of them, “What if, after all the toil I go through, another takes my place in slaying the dragon?” Dear mighty warrior! You can hear the chilling cry of the malicious dragon from afar, and the sulphurous odor of the dragon’s breath has already begun to sting your nose. It’s overwhelming presence shakes your heart, but beware! It may be you...
Project brief: To celebrate the 25th Game Developers Conference (GDC25), iam8bit Productions was asked to conceive of “a unique experience to engage conference attendees.” While the primary objective was to celebrate the Conference’s 25th anniversary, the more pressing challenge (and one that the conference has faced since its inception) was how to inject a sentiment of fun and whimsy into a conference that is predicated on education and lectures. Finally, in keeping with the branding of the conference, a color palette of CMYK was requested. Paying tribute to the 25th anniversary of the conference, and video games themselves, was as simple as focusing our attention on what is literally the building block of the industry: the pixel. Though the graphics of modern video games have evolved to...

This is my final affair it's over and now I don't care
I've been in love and I found it hurts when your heart's kicked around
This is my final romance I know it's not worth a chance
I'm bluer than I was before I won't fall in love anymore
It's too much to ask of someone to give their love their heart their all
To someone who's only pretending and calls you a fool when you fall
This is my final romance I know it's not worth a chance
My heart's beyond all repair and this is my final affair
(It's too much to ask of someone to give their love their heart their all)
